Boston is in the rearview mirror, and the McDaniels boys thought they’d left the ugliness behind along with it. But Reid’s got a secret that could tear the brothers apart, and now, to top it off, there’s this girl…Big, sad eyes, chip on her shoulder the size of a Buick. She’s in trouble. Hell, she is trouble. But he just can’t seem to stop thinking about her.
Former ballerina-turned Vegas showgirl Lola Taylor is used to dealing with jerks at her job, but when a handsome stranger saves her from a near-tragedy, she can’t help but wonder if he’s one of the fabled good guys. If so, the last thing he needs is to get caught up with the likes of her, but no matter how hard she tries to drive him away, he keeps coming back. If she finally breaks down and let’s him in, it could destroy her, but with every touch and every smile, her resolve is weakening… Could Reid McDaniels be that one guy worth risking it all for?

This one follows Reid, the youngest of the McDaniels brothers.
Now that they are in Las Vegas things are much different for the brothers and their girlfriends. For starters, they are much peaceful. I’m glad things are better for them, after all the crap they went through. However, from the surprise ending from the previous book we know things are not gonna be that peaceful for long.
We saw a little bit of that drama in this book, as it mostly centers on Reid and Lola meeting. So far, I’m liking both of them and really looking forward to reading more on them. Not only because they are both still a mystery (even when we know of Reid’s family background), but because the chemistry shown here is crazy hot.
This is gonna be fun, although I’m a little sad that these last three books will be the last ones for these brothers. :-(
Great start. I'm hooked. There were several things I liked about this one, the first being the story line. A romance where the guy isn't dead set on a one night stand and changes his mind. A couple who honestly state where they are, not just where they think they should be. And surprise, surprise first person. I usually am not a fan of first person--guess what, I am when it is well done and conversational. I didn't even realize until I was about a third way through this one.
The characters are likable, certainly not perfect, and have to fight their pasts. No spoilers so I'll just say, twenty one year old Reid, the youngest McDaniels bother gets more than he bargained at his birthday bash. He sees Lo on stage in Vegas and can't take his eyes off her. She calls him a boy scout for his actions coming to her rescue, but soon learns the good boy has some real good bad in him too.
Their relationship is a real roller coaster, friend, lover, matchmaker? What do they have? Meanwhile, a blast from the past (more like a time bomb) hits Reid and Lo never lets roots attach themselves. Can these two make it? We sure want them to, but have to read on to see how they handle the outside and internal battles.
**4-4.5 stars** Love me some McDaniels Brothers! I really enjoyed the first installment of the younger brother Reid's story. Loved the chemistry between Reid and Lola and can't wait to read the next installment! Christine Bell has me hooked on this serial series. *Books should be read in order to get the most enjoyment. They are not meant to be read as stand-alones*
Fix You (Books 1-3): Bash & Olivia's story (1st in the McDaniels Brothers series) Trust Me (Books 1-3): Matty & Kayla's story (2nd in the McDaniels Brothers series)
Good start not enough action going on compared to the others. This thing with the mom better be good because the anticipation behind her arrival back into their lives has to be good. Not sure how I feel about Lo, she seems to play too many games and Reid seems to want more. Can't wait to read about some more fights and to actually get a look at what he can do in the ring. Still the Mickey thing is a bit harsh some kind of way I'm hoping he can make a reappearance seeing that he went down too easy. Hopefully the next one will turn up the drama and have me on edge for the next.
After reading Fix Me and Trust Me, I can't help but look at Reid as the little brother. After reading this, he there is certainly nothing little about him! Similar to Bash's encounter with Olivia, Reid comes to the aid of Lola and from that moment on he was done for. Lola's got some serious issues which are making her fight her feelings and at the end of this book, she might have just made things worse for herself and for Reid.
Loved! It! The McDaniels brothers have relocated to Las Vegas. During a gathering for his twenty-first Reid spots the lovely Lola. The attraction is immediate and when he sees her in trouble he never questions going to her aide. Lola and Reid's story is off to a sizzling start and I can't wait for the next installment. I highly recommend this one!
Reid has slid into my favorite McDaniels brother spot seamlessly. He is so sweet and yet has a bad boy side that is to die for. Lo is so broken and I hurt for her but she is making me absolutely nuts with her push and pull. I can't wait to see where this story goes from here.
Reid is not the quiet brother he is made out to be in the other books, he is vertical like his two older brothers. He is loyal, passionate, head strong and very sexy.
