This was such an amazing book, I have no words, I loved it so much!!! It was emotional, filled with vulnerability, found family and two people who deserved the world and were absolutely perfect for each other.
Olivia always had a plan for her life, but that plan didn't include the gorgeous and mysterious fire chief Asher Reed. He's been protective over her since the day he met her, but he always stayed away, until a weak moment at the wedding made them both stop fighting the connection they feel. It was supposed to be an one-time thing, but an unexpected pregnancy is about to change everything. Now they committed to being just friends and co-parents, they have a pact, but they are about to cross all their boundaries.. His past holds dark secrets though, secrets that may destroy them..
I loved Asher so much, he deserved so much better, his past and the way he felt he didn't deserve all the good things in his life broke my heart. Seeing him open up to his Livi girl was so special, as was their bond. He did everything for her and their little bear and the way she brought light in his life made me so emotional. Liv was such a ray of sunshine, always clumsy and overthinking, always there for everyone. I loved seeing her be treated right, how settled she felt with Asher, how loved. I absolutely adored her. Also, I really loved her parents, they were so amazing and supportive and it made me so happy seeing how they accepted Asher.
They were so perfect together. I loved the way they were with each other, how he always protected her, how he made sure she was happy, how she made him more comfortable to open up, how she brightened his life. They were a team, since the very beginning, they grew together and supported one another. I have to say, while accidental pregnancy isn't a trope I generally enjoy, I absolutely loved it here. I feel it was necessary for their story, there were things he needed to overcome, demons he needed to conquer and them having something so special, something they both wanted, gave them an opportunity to connect deeper, the way it was needed. It made their story so much more special. The little things he would for her, the things he made for her as gifts, the box and the olive wood, made me cry a little.. They were such wonderful moments, I honestly don't know how the explain the amount of joy I felt reading it. I also cried far too many times, this story carried a lot more depth than I was expecting and that moment near the end made me incredibly emotional.
"𝓨𝓸𝓾 𝓪𝓷𝓭 𝓶𝓮, 𝔂𝓮𝓪𝓱?"
The spicy scenes were also really good, I did enjoyed them and while I don't exactly like certain nicknames, I loved these two far too much to care about any of that here. There was quite a few of them though and I know that isn't everyones preference, so be warned.
I know I didn't read the first three books, a mistake I'm going to rectify immediately, but I can still say that, without a doubt, this is my favourite book in the series!!
I loved the found family they created, how close they were and the way they were always there for each other, especially the way Nash was there for Asher. And I, of course, loved the girls the most, they are such an amazing group. I loved seeing Cassie and Haden again too, I have a special attachment to them, as their book was the first one I read. I really need to read the first three as soon as possible, it's gonna be even more special now that I already formed attachments to everyone.
This was such a great ending and I can't wait for the next series. Paisley Hope has really climbed to the top of my favourite writers, I absolutely adore the way she writes!!
*Thank you to Netgalley and to Random House UK, Cornerstone for providing me with an ARC.*
Thank you NetGalley & Ballantine | Dell Romance for the ARC of one of my most anticipated releases of 2026! This was fun and exactly everything I hoped it would be! A light, sweet contemporary romance with just the right amount of heat, heart, and small-town charm. Olivia is such an easy heroine to root for, and Asher? Grumpy, controlled firefighter with a soft spot only for her, yes please!! The chemistry was there from the start, the accidental pregnancy trope was handled with care, and the story stayed cozy and comforting while still delivering emotional moments.
If you’ve loved the previous books in this series, you’ll absolutely love this one too. Perfect for when you want something swoony, low-stress, and satisfying!
This one was a 5⭐️ read from me, straight off the bat, by 20% I knew this was going to be a five star and boy did Paisley Hope smash this one out the park!
ASHER FUCKING REED. Asher Reed, the name of my new favourite book boyfriend! This is the perfect close proximity, friends to lovers with a surprise pregnancy and it is done to perfection. With no third act break up this one was an easy 5⭐️s
Asher is the mysterious bad boy who is so misunderstood, I enjoyed reading about his past and what makes him, him. His character development was amazing and deep down I always knew Asher was cracker of a man and I knew he would adore Olivia! Olivia is the cutest, sweetest girl who deserves the whole world and more, Asher and Olivia both do! They worked perfectly together and the plot was perfection! I am very sad to be leaving the Silver Pines Ranch series but soooo excited to read all of Paisley's future books! 📚
“You and me, yeah?” “Forever.” I genuinely don’t know how to say goodbye to Silver Pines. 🥺 Knowing this series has come to an end absolutely shattered me. From the very first book, I fell deeply in love with every character, living through their highest highs and lowest lows right alongside them. I cried through their heartbreaks, cried through their joy, and now my heart aches knowing their stories are complete ❤️🩹
This final installment completely blew me away. I teared up, I sobbed without restraint, and I laughed out loud more times than I can count! Asher and Olivia were everything in this book. Utterly captivating, emotionally raw, and impossible not to root for 🫶🏻 Their connection was electric, and the yearning between them was off the charts. 😮💨 Every page and every chapter left me desperate for more!!
The tension was intense, the chemistry scorching 🥵, and the emotional build-up exquisitely done as always 👏🏻👏🏻 Watching the past and present intertwine so beautifully had me in awe from start to finish. Paisley Hope’s writing never fails to impress me, and this series is a perfect example of her sheer talent. Silver Pines had me hooked from the beginning, and as my first small-town cowboy romance, it completely stole my heart. This is a series I will never stop loving—and an author I will never stop praising. Never stop writing Paisley because I for one, will never stop reading 💗
Asher Reed: a man running from his past… and the dangerously hot fire chief 🔥 “There’s just something about the goodness in her. That light with a desire for the dark that brings out this raw need in me—to protect her, to be with her, to own her the way she’s owned my every thought for weeks.”
Olivia Sutton: the clumsy small-town girl with a heart of gold 💫 “—I think…I know, I’m falling in love with you.”
Chasing the Fire is about Olivia who feels stuck in life while all her friends marry and start families. Asher is the town’s mysterious and Irish fire chief who feels pulled towards the accident prone Olivia. The two give into their attractions which ultimately ends up in a pregnancy! I love this trope in romance novels; especially when it’s clear that both parties are very much in like with one another before they even hook up.
I really enjoyed how honest and open Olivia was especially with Asher. She knew he had a past but didn’t push to know everything. I also loved the character growth with Asher; him slowly letting Olivia and then the guys into his life and past. I did feel the confrontation at the end was slightly anticlimactic but I was happy that Asher started therapy!
Chasing the Fire is the final installment in the Silver Pines series and while I am so sad that these characters are going away, it definitely seems like there are other ranches in that area with lots of stories to tell.
Thank you to NetGalley and Ballantine and Dell for this eARC in exchange for my honest opinions!
The chemistry here is strong, but what really stood out was the emotional depth woven into the romance. It balances heat, heart, and personal growth in a way that feels satisfying and earned, making it a great addition to the series.
I’d been so looking forward to this book, but must admit I’m now quite sad to be leaving Silver Pines! What a series this has been. I was really intrigued by Olivia and Asher- we’ve seen glimpses of them both as side characters but didn’t know a huge amount about them before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I absolutely loved them both. Their banter and how Asher always looks out for her at the start is brilliant, and that then develops into a bit of a friendship. When they finally give in to their chemistry just once it leaves them with a surprise that will have them joined for the rest of their lives.
I loved the development of their relationship throughout the story- the depth of their feelings and connection that kept growing and how raw that sometimes was. Whilst their chemistry was always off the charts, you could feel them keep growing closer emotionally too.
Asher did not have a happy upbringing and whilst he has escaped his demons physically, they’ve left scars that still impact him daily. But watching him feel safe with and open up to Olivia was beautiful. I really liked how all our favourite characters from the previous books were woven in throughout the book too, so we got to see lots of them and where they’re all at.
Having read the story I now love the US cover even more- the little details on there are perfect!
I have an inkling where Paisley’s next series might be set based on some of the characters we briefly met here so I’m hoping there might be a few of our favourite silver pines gang making cameos there too!
Huge thanks to the author, Cornerstone and NetGalley for this ARC.
I just knew that there was never going to be enough star to give the last book in the ‘Silver Pines’ series & paisley proved me right!!! 😭
This is my favourite contemporary/small romance series and i swear everytime i read about them i fall more in love with this fictional world.
As this is an ARC review (thank you to evermore), I won’t be revealing a lot in my review but I will say:
Olivia was amazing, and so SO relatable for me. For all the girls who have to always be in control and have a plan, even on a regular day, Liv will be for you. She truly spoke to my soul when she just could not grasp anything going off plan, because girl same!!! I love the character that she was. She stood by Asher through EVERYTHING and i love her character so much for it.
Asher was always a mystery for me, we don’t learn lots about him in previous books due to his standoff ish ways but oh my god did he take me by surprise?! I LOVED HIM!! His whole back story was really sad but also made me feel really proud of this fictional character?? Seeing his character growth had me smiling like a proud mum x i also really appreciated how detailed his backstory was, it made his character make so much sense.
The plot for this book includes surprise pregnancy (non spoiler - on blurb) and it did not disappoint 🤭😮💨. The spice was spicing, as always when written by PH!!!
The way this man loved Liv was incredible to read. SO SWEET, im pretty sure I smiled for the entire book, every single page. I love them so bad!!! Literal cuteness overload, i think because of his character it came as such a shock too so i was in a state of amazement for the entire book.
Acts of service, words of affirmation & SHOWING love not necessarily telling girlies, this one is for you. I could literally feel through the pages the love that he felt for her. The deep yearning and pull they had towards eachother even before the book started just made every movement towards love 100x better. The pacing was immaculate.
The birth scene 😭😭😭. Ivys had me bawling aswell but THIS WAS SO SPECIAL.
I literally have no bad words to say about this book. I will miss this series so much and i absolutely did bawl my eyes out like a baby towards the end. The found family is everything in this series and seeing Asher become apart of that >>>😭🧡
Y'all I didn't want this series to end. But what an ending it is!!! I have loved this series so much and so enjoyed being in this world. Chasing the fire was such a beautiful read, and oh my heart, these two falling in love was everything!! I loved their dance around each other and then the delicious f it moment we get. The tension of these two has been building up through the series, and oh, it was such a beautiful climax in their book. Their chemistry is off the charts from the first chapters. I ate this up. I adore the found family aspect of these books. There is a really beautiful line at the end of the book that just sums up this series so well. Paisley can do no wrong in my eyes.
Asher, our MMC, oh you sweet tortured hero, he was in strong contention for top spot, but I think he and Wade are tied. I loved Asher so much!! The way he was so soft with Olivia and his caretaking was just everything. I loved how much he opened up during this book, he has so many beautiful moments. He really had me on the edge of my seat, eating out the palm of his hand and the mouth on that man, holy hotness. He was just so perfect.
Olivia, our FMC, she was so sweet, I really enjoyed reading more about her past, and I loved the interactions with the not-angels as well. She was so far gone for Asher, and it was so beautiful to see her come into her own and be so content in her life. I loved how vulnerable she was with Asher as well. There were just so many swoony moments!
I'm sad it's ended, but what an amazing journey to go on for this whole series!!
“In this big white house overlooking the craggy peaks of Sugarland Mountain, there's a solemn promise. Love is abundant, advice is always free, everyone is family, and the porch light is always on. Silver Pines.”
I am beside myself that this series is over, this however was the perfect book to end the series. Asher and Olivia’s relationship was just beautiful. Their chemistry is so palpable
“He's the moth to her flame. Can they risk getting burned?”
Their story is emotional, incredibly sexy, deep and i could not put this down, or stop thinking about them. I’m not usually one for the pregnancy trope, only if it’s done well and the FMC doesn’t lose everything she is to become a mother, and my god i was not disappointed. Asher has been a mystery throughout the other silver pines books, and he remains one during the majority of this and connecting the hints of his past and why he is the way he is, is so intriguing.
The way he loves Liv is just beautiful, this man is the epitome of acts of service as a love language, and actions speak louder than words. And the MOUTH on this man, jesus christ.
~~~
“Well, since we're being honest, I say this in the friendliest way possible"-his eyes move slowly, hotly —"you look really fucking beautiful today."
“Yep. Fuck it. I'm keeping her.”
"I'll make every fucking fantasy you could dream of come true."
"Think of it as my job to do things with you you'd be fucking ashamed of in the morning with anyone else."
~~~
Thankyou to Paisley and her PA, yeah Rose for yapping with me throughout this read <3
and thank you to evermore for the eArc of this book
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Guys, Asher has a diiirrrttyyy mouth in the best way possible.
I went into Chasing the Fire desperately needing something that was gonna hit so I jumped on this and let me tell you -- it hit in all the ways I needed it to. If you read Wild Card and didn't quite get your fill of Bash, Asher will fill that role right up. Not an age gap but Ash has a dark past that's been hinted about in previous books. Olivia who's in the BFF group is our FMC and I loved them dancing around each other prior to this book. Even though Chasing the Fire on it's own is instalusty, it doesn't feel that way cos of the previous books, if that makes sense.
This was super spicy but Paisley Hope knows how to write it and that makes all the difference to me. Even though we were getting another firefighter in a sea of books featuring them (even her own Protect which featured a hot shot), this one really stands out to me. I loved Olivia since she wasn't the "perfect" FMC paired with Asher who was trying to get out from a dark past. And as with the other books in this series, everyone from the past books has a prominent side character placement which I adore even if I get confused cos now there are so many characters.
This is the 5th and final book in the Silver Pines Ranch series and a little bittersweet cos it for sure felt like we were saying bye to our beloved characters. The author notes do hint at the future and I for one would totally smash a second gen series cos we got a lot of little kiddos waiting for their own books.
Thank you so much to Ballantine and NetGalley for a copy of this ebook. All opinions are my own.
Thank you to NetGalley & Paisley Hope for the ARC of this book.
I’m so sad that this series is coming to an end, but wow did we end on a high with Asher & Olivia. I think Paisley has definitely saved the best til last 😉
Since book one I’ve wanted their story and now we finally have it. Ladies, you won’t be disappointed with Asher. I mean a fireman with tattoos sign me up!!!
Asher Reed is the grumpy broody Fire Chief for Laurel Creek, surrounded in mystery he keeps everyone at arms length. Olivia Sutton is a sunshine girl and open book. Slightly clumsy but with a heart of gold. Both have felt a connection since Asher landed in Laurel Creek but haven’t acted on it until one night that changes their lives and relationship going forward.
The f**k it moment at 26% had me kicking my feet. I loved watching the relationship development between Asher & Olivia and also seeing how the others characters stories had moved on.
You might not like this book if you’re not a fan of the accidental pregnancy trope but I for one loved it.
Reading the Silver Pines series has been an absolute blessing, I’ve loved every single book and enjoyed every moment of seeing this beautiful family grow to take new members into the fold with open arms and so much love.
Olivia and Asher’s story is EVERYTHING, the passion that burns between them is scorching, when they finally, FINALLY, gave in and had their moment it was everything we knew it would be.
Asher’s back story was torture, to know him as the strong, silent, brooding, adoring (of Olivia) man, it doesn’t compare to the man he could have become if he stayed with his family - thank heavens he didn’t as he is the perfect match for our Livi Girl ❤️
Seeing our three Not Angels coupled up and head over heels in love with their men has filled my heart full
I love Paisley Hope's books and this one was no different. Asher can keep an eye on me every damn day, yes please. I would say that it has some darker elements occasionally, but in the most fun way and there's enough to balance it out.
I do also love me a surprise pregnancy and it worked so well in this book. It really matched with their characters. How it brought out Asher's protectiveness but also his fear of letting people in and creating this new family. While Olivia deals with feeling like she's falling behind compared to her friends and this need to plan out her entire life so she'll be able to have the perfect family and life she has dreamed off. It just comes together so well.
I really enjoyed this book. So sad the series is over now but also so excited to see what she'll right next. I'll be impatiently waiting!!
You know when you start reading a book and you just know straight away it’s going to be your absolute favourite? Paisley has completely knocked it out of the park with Chasing Fire. Never have I fallen in love with two characters so damn quickly.
I loved every little and big thing about this book, and the ending had me absolutely bawling my eyes out. 1000% this is my favourite book Paisley has written, and I’m not sure where to go from here… I’m wrecked!!
The chemistry between Olivia and Asher is chefs kiss five stars!! Accidental pregnancy won’t be for everyone but this story makes it sound like anything is possible for our main characters, they adapt and find a way to be there for each other, which just makes them stronger. The only lacking part of this book for me was their individual back stories- I wanted a bit more of their history and how they overcome it and dealt with it. Maybe flashbacks so we could really feel what an impact it was having on them and why, especially for Asher it made him hold back.
I received this book as an ARC and provide an honest review.
UGH. I’m so sad this series is over but damn what a way to go. This may have just been the best book yet. I am so in love with Asher and Olivia. I think their story was so perfect and I loved how much they grew together throughout. A beautiful end to a beautiful series.
It feels bittersweet to write a review to the last book in the Siler Pines Ranch series. It's been a rollercoaster of emotions and the Silver Pines Ranch series is my absolute favorite book series and nothing will ever change that.
I cancelled ALL my plans for this weekend because this was a must read asap.
𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️♾️ 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐞: 🌶🌶🌶
𝐌𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 I have no idea how to say goodbye to Silver Pines Ranch. From the moment I read Holding The Reins back in March 2024, I knew this series would be my absolute favorite series. I fell inlove with the characters, Paisley's writing, their highs and their lows. I've lost count on how many times I've cried while reading this series. This series and Paisley has changed my life and I'm forever and ever grateful.
Chasing The Fire, where do I even begin? OUTSTANDING. AMAZING. MINDBLOWING. LEFT ME SPEECHLESS.
This book blew me away. I think I've found myself a new all time favorite book. I have laughed, I have cried and I have sobbed while reading this book. Asher and Olivia was pure perfection. Their connection and relationship is electric and absolute fire. It was also emotional and so freaking captivating. From the moment they met in the first chapter, I was rooting for them. Every word and chapter made me crave more. I wanted more and more.
The tension, let me tell you the tension was next level tension and Olivia and Asher's chemistry was on fire. Paisley's writing is my favorite writing and she never fails to impress me. I must say, grumpy Asher was absolutely fantastic and firefighter Asher was the hot. Even hotter was Daddy Asher. And Asher's dirty mouth, holy macaroni. He know how to talk dirty let me tell you that 🥵🔥
I really loved the mystery between Asher and his past. His backstory was torture and to see what man he has become today in this book was beautiful. The way he treat Olivia and little Bear is just beautiful and my heart was melting. Olivia was amazing and I loved her, I could relate to her so bad. And how she stood by Asher through everything, fire. The spice between these two was spiceing, like you are not ready for this spice holy moly 🥵🔥🌶
Paisley you have knocked it out of the park with Chasing The Fire. This book was absolute pure perfection and I'm completely and utterly obsessed with it. YOU HAVE DONE IT AGAIN QUEEN !!!Paisley truly is the queen of small town and cowboy romance.
I don't want this series to come to an end but this ending was a BANG. I've lost count on how many times I cried while reading this book. I don't think I can describe how much I love this book and Asher and Olivia but know this, if I could I would give this book 10 ⭐️ !!! I'm forever and ever grateful for Paisley and this series. What an amazing ending to an AMAZING book series.
𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐈𝐟 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞 ♡ Accidental Pregnancy ♡ Forced Proximity ♡ Friends To Lovers ♡ Protective Hero ♡ Secret Past ♡ Found Family ♡ Fire Chief ♡ Spicy Spice
Chasing the Fire by Paisley Hope is a wonderful conclusion to the Silver Pines Ranch series. Asher Reed is a character that truly gets under your skin; watching him gain the confidence to believe he is worthy of love and fatherhood was a highlight. The moments where he interacts with the "little bear" in Olivia’s tummy were absolutely heart-melting, especially as he actively works to be a better role model than his own father.
Olivia is an equally fantastic lead. She possesses a strong will, clear self-agency, and a career she’s proud of, none of which is sidelined for the sake of the romance. It was incredibly refreshing to see her respect the co-parenting boundaries they actually discussed, rather than relying on assumptions. Their relationship felt grounded in real conversations, even as I was rooting for them to finally fully commit.
The book isn't without its flaws, however. The inclusion of the Ashby extended family felt a bit forced and inorganic, especially since Olivia already had a solid relationship with her adoptive parents, who, unfortunately, felt like throwaway characters at times. I also found the subplot with Asher’s background to be a bit of a letdown. After so much buildup regarding his uncle, the resolution felt anticlimactic. Furthermore, while the first wedding hookup was incredibly hot, the later sex scenes didn't quite land for me. The use of degradation, specifically terms like "slut" or "whore," felt jarring and out of character for Asher, especially considering how hard he was working to distance himself from his past life.
Despite these nitpicks, this was a strong finish to a beloved series. On its own, it’s a solid 4-star read, but as a series finale that brings everything home, it pushed it up to a 5-star experience for me. Paisley Hope remains an auto-buy author in my book!
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and Ballantine | Dell in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
I absolutely LOVED the romance and the vibes. I don’t mind surprise pregnancy trope (I feel like most readers hate it? 😅) and I truly loved how it was executed here. The pregnancy mostly happened in the background of the whole story, with an on page delivery at the end (which I absolutely LOVED 🥹🥹🥹) Ash and Olivia’s dynamics were so good. They had cute banter and I adored how their relationship kinda happened organically. I’m not a fan of insta-love and these two, while having some kind of spark from their first encounter, didn’t have the insta-love or even insta-lust kind of romance. Ash is escaping his dark past and trying to live a normal quiet life as a bartender and firefighter. Olivia is the clumsiest woman in this small town. She should be wrapped in a bubble wrap. Somehow Ash is always there to rescue her, but that’s it, no game plan on either side, as they are not what the other wants in life. Buuuut… one hot not-night-one-night-stand during their friends’ wedding results in two pink lines. From this moment you get a beautiful story how both of them just take the situation in stride and just one day at a time. They decide to co-parent but don’t want to complicate things. I loved how it didn’t go any of the usual ways: go for friends (co-parents?) with benefits situation or feel strong attraction to each other but deny it. It felt like their love just happened naturally over the course of the pregnancy. The romance was very much there and you could feel the love between them.
I couldn’t put it down and I have a ton of highlights from this book. I plan to catch up with previous books (I haven’t read any before jumping into this one, which proves that it totally works as a standalone!)
Tropes: 💛 accidental pregnancy 🧡 firefighter 💛 clumsy (in a cute way) FMC 🧡 protective hero 💛 found family 🧡 forced proximity ❤️ spice that is spicing
Thanks to @prhukexport for the proof copy of this book 🧡 I had the best time reading a physical book (I don’t do this often enough!) and using tabs for all my highlights.
Chasing the Fire is book 5 and the final book in the Silver Pines Ranch series by Paisley Hope. I am so sad that our time on the ranch with these characters is over but it definitely ended on a heck of a high note! Olivia and Asher were perfection!
Olivia is the sweetheart of Laurel creek who owns a popular boutique in town and is always there for her friends! One night of baking gone wrong causes a fire that significantly damages her home. Enter Asher Reed! We’ve met Asher in the previous books in this series as the hot, broody bartender. But he is also the Laurel Creek Fire chief and is on the scene to help Olivia pick up the pieces after the fire, including finding her a place to stay and helping her rebuild her home. But one steamy night leads to a positive pregnancy test and that changes both of their lives forever.
Read this one if you love: ❤️small town ❤️friends to lovers ❤️accidental pregnancy ❤️forced proximity ❤️found family ❤️steamy chemistry🔥 ❤️no 3rd act breakup ❤️dual POV ❤️spicy🌶️🌶️🌶️
This story was sweet and emotional but also spicy with a touch of mystery. Asher has a mysterious traumatic past but Olivia had some childhood tragedy as well. I loved how they worked as a team and supported each other throughout everything that happens in the story! Olivia and Asher’s romance is totally swoon worthy! We also get to catch up with all of our favorite characters from the previous books! It was fun getting another glimpse into all of their lives. Overall, I absolutely loved this book! I cannot wait to see what Paisley Hope does next!
Thank you to NetGalley and Ballantine (Dell) for the opportunity to read an eARC of Chasing the Fire. All opinions in this review are my own.
Thank you Netgally for the ARC - Book 5, the finale in the Silver Pine Ranch Series. As in the other books, we catch up with previous characters, it gives the story so much more depth, but could be read as a standalone (you're seriously missing out on some magic if you do this).
Talk about going out with a bang, Paisley, for me, finished with the best book yet. A little different from the others and I loved it.
Asher, a firefighter, helps the town, works at the bar, looks out for anyone and everyone, especially Olivia and her clumsy ways but he's got a side, a history we didnt know much about.
Bring in a broken family with a mafia past, death of parents, life of crime, destruction and prison. But underneath all that, he's kind, rough and rugged, so loveable and the story shows how a past doesn't define you or your future.
Olivia, she's such a cutie, very accident prone, she felt lost and behind her friendship group, but she was fierce in her feelings and fight for Asher. Whilst running her own business in town.
Bring in the Ashby family and their partners, I missed Pappa Dean's mischief in this book but mamma Jo was as insightful as always and ready with arms wide open.
Perfect end to the series, it had spice, character growth, a will they wont they, I cried, rooted for Ash at tines and felt absolutely satisfied with how it was all wrapped up.
I love Paisleys writing and cant wait to see what comes next because im invested!
5*

Can I just say that I absolutely freaking LOVE these MCs!! I wasnt prepared for this and I have read every book. Asher is such a catch. I mean, first of all the Irish accent. Second, he's a firefighter. Third, the way he dotes on Livi *swoon.* Last, but definitely not least, that mouth!!!! My goodness he is a filthy one. OH!!! He is also handy!!! "You mean you can service me AND build me a library? Sigh me up!" Moving on lol. I really liked how Asher's past coming back was played out. It could have gone a completely different direction and Im happy it didn't. This was perfect. Olivia is totally my jam. She's accidental prone, a bit of a clutz. Relatable 👐 She has quite the filthy mouth on her too! I can't even pinpoint what it is about her that is so likeable, but she just is! Maybe it's because she is exactly what Asher needs and what he deserves. Now, normally the whole pregnancy trope in a book is a little off putting for me (personal struggles), but with Asher and Livi, I found myself excited for them and every milestone I was smiling and happy about it. The 'little bear' nickname was also an instant smile when used. The way my heart soared when Asher showed her the OLIVE wood. What really destroyed my heart though... That epilogue. What a beautifully written series exit.
It’s always sad when a series comes to an end but I’m so fortunate I was able to receive an eArc for the final book in this series! Big thank you to NetGalley
I’ll start this off my saying this is my absolute least favorite trope so I did struggle a bit. If this is a trope you enjoy then I think you will absolutely adore every moment of this book!
I really loved the connection between Asher and Olivia. They’re always had such good chemistry and you really got to see it to the full. I loved their banter and thought they had some really cute moments The plot was good, there were several moments outside of the pregnancy that I really enjoyed and I liked the mystery of Asher’s past. I did think this book was very spice heavy, there’s more in this book than I had been expecting. Also side note I did not love all the foot talk 😂 Overall though it was a sweet story, the relationship was wholesome and it moved at a great pace for me. As always I loved seeing the rest of the gang throughout.

Chasing The Fire follows popular boutique owner Olivia who always her a plan for her life, one that didn't include the mysterious fire chief Asher. He always stayed away from her but at the same, he can't help but been protective over her since the day he met her. That was until what was supposed to be a one time thing at their friend's wedding, turned into an unexpected pregnancy that was going to change everything. And with no where for Olivia to stay after her a fire broke out at her house and ongoing renovations, Asher offers for her to move in with him. They're committed to being just friends and co parents but when boundaries are crossed and Asher's past comes to light, could it be the thing to destroy them?
Usually I don't like the accidental pregnancy trope but I think in this book, it works really well. We get to see a more protective and vulnerable side to Asher whilst he is trying to overcome his fear of letting people in. While we see Olivia struggling with feeling like she's always falling behind compared to her friends. They are opposites but work in every way. Asher deserved so much better due to his past and I loved seeing him open up to Olivia about everything. And all the little things he would do for her and the gifts!
I would recommend this series and I can't wait to see what Paisley Hope writes next... possibly a series about the Black brothers and their ranch??
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you Ballantine, Dell, Paisley Hope, and NetGalley for an eARC to read and review before publishing.
This one is hard for me. . . I love Paisley Hope and I've enjoyed the Silver Pines Ranch series, but something felt missing from Chasing the Fire.
I absolutely loved our MMC, Asher Reed. He is complex, dynamic, and a genuinely good man (despite what he thinks). One of my favorite parts of the story was how Paisley implemented elements of Dark Romance, especially in building Asher's character. This allowed for character growth and a subplot that felt integral to the story.
Unfortunately I did not connect with our FMC, Olivia. I felt as though there was a great opportunity for reflection and character growth with Olivia, and I just never felt it happened. I appreciated how open to Asher she was, but it just wasn't enough to redeem her in my eyes.
Overall, I enjoyed Chasing the Fire; it just isn't a favorite of the series.
Another amazing story by Paisley. She KNOWS how to build suspense, character developments and found family all in a cute small town setting(cowboys included).
Asher; the fireman, bartender, handyman, jack of all trades. I’ve been waiting for this story since Holding the Reins and it did not disappoint. His darker background added a new level of understanding but this man STEPPED UP, praise be
Olivia; sunshine, baker, business owner, sassy queen. I loved her character, she had to take the reins to become the main character in her life, rather than being there for everyone else.
I usually hate the pregnancy trope but I devoured this book. It was perfect for the two to come together to create a little forced proximity
Thank you for letting me read this ARC copy! I can’t wait to buy the trophy book and read all of your other books to come 💓

I’m sad to see this series come to an end, it’s been one of my absolute favourites.
Chasing the Fire leans into the accidental pregnancy trope, which usually isn’t my go to, but it was done really well here. I think leaving this storyline until the end worked perfectly because we already knew and cared about these characters.
I’ve been hooked on every little breadcrumb about Asher and Olivia throughout the series, so when it was finally their turn, I knew the sparks were going to fly, and they definitely did.
After their one night stand, Olivia’s house catches fire, so of course Asher moves her in with him… along with his dog Duke and the barn cat, Dick, who absolutely stole a few scenes.
Overall, this was a fantastic ending to a series I’ve loved from start to finish. I’m really hoping the new characters Paisley introduced are setting us up for another series 🤞
I absolutely ate this book up. Asher and Liv’s story was just perfect.
Asher’s back story had my heart really going out to him. He just didn’t believe he deserved anything good. And his Livi girl stayed with him through it all.
Seeing him and Liv fall more and more in love with each other as the story went on just gave me all of the feels. With no third act break up, and a guaranteed HEA for all of the Not Angels this was just the perfect ending to the Silver Pines story.
