Laurel Creek’s fire chief is good at putting out fires and keeping secrets, but the town's sweetheart is determined to burn through his defenses in the blazing-hot final installment of the Silver Pines Ranch series.
She's as wild as fire. He's ready to burn for her.
Olivia Sutton is the sweetheart of Laurel Creek. The owner of a popular boutique, she enjoys the comforts of home, her cat, and freshly baked treats. She's been burned before and she knows the kind of man she should want. Yet beneath her good girl exterior, Olivia harbors a secret desire for a man who can take control.
Enter Asher Reed, the town’s fire chief, known for his intense eyes and mysterious past. Asher keeps everything in his life tightly controlled. . . except when it comes to Olivia, the copper-haired beauty who has captured his attention in ways he can’t ignore.
After a fire damages Olivia’s home, Asher steps in to help her pick up the pieces, finding her a temporary place to settle at Silver Pines Ranch. When one moment of weakness leads to two pink lines, Olivia and Asher begin spending more time together, determined to be friends. Though Olivia soon realizes that the smoldering firefighter might be the key to her deepest desires and the future she’s always dreamed of.
But when she discovers the truth about his past and how it connects with her own, will their spark ignite into a blazing romance—or will their future be extinguished by the weight of family secrets?

Chasing the Fire is about Olivia who feels stuck in life while all her friends marry and start families. Asher is the town’s mysterious and Irish fire chief who feels pulled towards the accident prone Olivia. The two give into their attractions which ultimately ends up in a pregnancy! I love this trope in romance novels; especially when it’s clear that both parties are very much in like with one another before they even hook up.
I really enjoyed how honest and open Olivia was especially with Asher. She knew he had a past but didn’t push to know everything. I also loved the character growth with Asher; him slowly letting Olivia and then the guys into his life and past. I did feel the confrontation at the end was slightly anticlimactic but I was happy that Asher started therapy!
Chasing the Fire is the final installment in the Silver Pines series and while I am so sad that these characters are going away, it definitely seems like there are other ranches in that area with lots of stories to tell.
Thank you to NetGalley and Ballantine and Dell for this eARC in exchange for my honest opinions!
There is something about Paisley Hope's books that have me incapable of putting them down. I don't get bored, I don't want to take a break - I'm not sure what is in them that makes them so bingeable, but I always devour them. I've enjoyed the entire Silver Pines series, but this is by far my favorite of the bunch. I'm not usually someone who enjoys the accidental pregnancy trope, but this was done so well. Asher and Olivia had me reading with hearts in my eyes, I love their story so much. I'm sad to say goodbye to these characters because they were all so much fun to follow. Thanks Netgalley for the e-ARC!
