I’ll preface this with the fact that I never read self-help books. But after having the pleasure of meeting the author, I decided to give it a try. And I wasn’t disappointed. The topics and the tips in this book are simple, but so refreshing. There’s room for improvement in everyone’s life, not just for those dealing with addiction. Unfortunately, a lot of people won’t put the work in if it’s not easy. And all these things are easy! It doesn’t have to be some giant change all at once, which feels like it’s impossible sometimes. It’s little things that make you change your mind about something, and if that trajectory is continued, will lead to bigger things and more positive changes. Plus, I personally loved that this wasn’t all technical jargon. That it was practical applications mixed with personal experience made it a much more pleasant read. It felt like a conversation, as opposed to someone filling pages with clunky, scientific lingo.
Great book! I at first thought a self help book I don’t want to read this. Then I continued to listen to Bruce’s words and thought this is calming helpful and I trust him already since I follow and trust his advice through his teachings on Instagram.
This book is helping my thinking. Grief is not going to go away in five years and it’s okay. Take it one day at a time.
