Night Witch is the sequel to the instant New York Times bestseller Spellcaster with an intense enemies-to-lovers arc, a steamy heat level, magical creatures, super high stakes, and an epic family saga.

Be careful what you witch for.

Welcome to year two at Weatherstone College…

Last year, after coming face to face with darkness and lethal monsters, Logan Kingston, my sworn enemy and sometimes ally, brought my first year to an explosive ending. There’s a bond between us that I can’t explain, but I just know he’s hiding something. Maybe I don’t fully trust any spellcaster, but there’s no denying my draw to him.

I’m not going to lie, I haven’t felt myself since then, and I’m dreading returning to Weatherstone.

Perfect if you love:
• Sexy Stalking + Dirty Talking
• He Gives Her His Clothes
• Forbidden Romance
• Touch Her & D!e

This duet is such a fun read. It has a unique magic system, a great found family, and a hero worth obsessing over.

I was slumping HARD, but I picked up this ARC and devoured it in record time. Jaymin’s writing is so addictive and this is one of her best!

Logan and Paisley are adorable, to be honest. I don’t know that I expected them to be so sweet on each other this whole book based on the first one, but I ate it up regardless. He’s possessive, protective, and wants nothing more than to take care of her. Dude is down bad!

The book could have been longer, honestly! If only to allow the last act to feel a bit more fleshed out and have the weight it needed. Still, it was a satisfying end to the story and follow up to book one.

Definitely recommend. Especially if you’re looking for a story with that crack factor that won’t let you put it down until it’s over!

4.5 rounded up! Thank you so much to Harlequin Trade Publishing, Jaymin Eve, and NetGalley for the ARC because wow, this duet wrapped up in such a satisfying way.

I absolutely flew through this one. It’s fast-paced, addictive, and packed with magic, spice, and heart. Logan and Paisley genuinely surprised me and I didn’t expect them to be so soft with each other after book one, but I loved every minute of it. Logan is fully in his protective, touch-her-and-die era (down bad in the best way), and Paisley is a total badass FMC who holds her own. Their chemistry is strong, the yearning hits, and yes… the spice delivers.

The dark academia vibes mixed with witches, warlocks, elemental magic, and fated mates made for such a fun, refreshing setup. Add in a found family that actually feels warm and real (Paisley’s family especially), and it gives the story an extra layer that I really appreciated.

If I had one small critique, it’s that I wouldn’t have minded a bit more room in the final act was overally, a satisfying conclusion that kept me hooked until the very end.

If you’re into:

morally gray MMCs who would burn the world for her
badass FMCs
enemies to lovers
academia settings
lots of spice + unique magic systems

…this one is absolutely worth your time.

Fast, fun, emotional in all the right places, and definitely a shelf trophy for me.

This was the perfect ending to an immaculate duet! I absolutely devoured Spell Caster, and this book was somehow even better! Dark academia meets witches and warlocks…plus maybe a little more, but I’ll let you discover that for yourselves. The magic system in this book was so refreshing and unique, with fated mates, and the most perfect found family.

Paisley has an affinity that was irradiated years ago and it may be the only hope of saving their world, but with a council that wants her kind dead, it’s up to her families enemy to help her fight off both the demons that are showing up in their world, the council, as well as his father that’s out for revenge.

This was such a quick, and fun fast paced read, it has heart racing moments, and an MMC that takes yearning to the next level!

Thank you so much to the Hive/Mira for allowing me to read this pre-release in exchange for my honest review!

This was so much fun! I heard someone describe it as the book version of a CW show, and I kind of love that. It’s super fast paced, and you can’t help but fall in love with the main characters.

I should be sleeping, but instead I stayed up way past my bedtime because I could not put Night Witch down…obsessed is an understatement and I seriously didn’t think I could love Paisley, Logan, their world, the fabulous side characters and the story more than I already did, but boy was I wrong!!!! So so good!!!! Will write more when I’ve had a chance to get some sleep, but the stakes are seriously high in this one, the spice is off the charts, and if you thought you liked Logan as Paisley’s love interest in Spellcaster, you’ll love him even more in this one. ;)

Night Witch is the conclusion to the Weatherstone College duology following Paisley as she attends the college to learn to hone her magic.

Night Witch picks up after the events of Spellcaster as Paisley discovers her new affinity and learns that she’s the one who has been calling the monsters.

At the end of Spellcaster, Logan says something that hints at a coming change to his and Paisley’s relationship. That change hits hard and fast in Night Witch and makes Logan down bad for Paisley. If you’re a fan of the ‘touch her and die’ and possessive tropes, Night Witch delivers tenfold.

Eve has a laidback and modern writing style. This style of writing isn’t for everyone and that is abundantly obvious in the reviews for Spellcaster.

As mentioned previously, Logan and Paisley’s relationship changes dramatically in Night Witch. Their interactions are intense and all-consuming.

Spice level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

The reason I rated the novel four stars instead of five is because of the quick resolution and lack of worldbuilding.

Without going into spoilers, there are two problems the characters have to deal with before the end of the novel. Problem 1 is dealt with quickly and efficiently despite the characters being told how difficult the problem will be to solve.

Night Witch has an explosive ending that I enjoyed, but it could have been stronger with more worldbuilding. Problem 2’s resolution feels like it comes out of nowhere, largely because Paisley has to put in very little cognitive effort as the resolution is given to her.

Overall, Night Witch is a fast-paced, trope-filled conclusion that kept me so engaged I nearly read it in one sitting. Despite some shortcomings in worldbuilding and the rushed resolutions, it’s an addictive and enjoyable read that will especially satisfy fans of intense romance and high-stakes magic.

I really liked that this series was a duology, it’s the perfect amount of books for this story. This second book was just as entertaining as the first. I enjoyed the characters and that we got to venture outside of the college setting to different locations.

The beginning of the book felt more romance heavy, while the last third of the book focused more on the magic and main issues the characters were facing. I think the issues were resolved a bit too easily and quickly.

I wish we got more background about the history of the Night Witches. People being afraid of something just because they don’t fully understand it is unfortunately a really common issue we see in the real world.

All of this to say, this is a highly entertaining, spicy romantasy duology that I think most people enjoy!

Night Witch is a fantastic follow up to Spellcaster. With mysterious witch powers, action, found family, and a hot alpha wizard who keeps handing over his clothes, Jaymin Eve writes a satisfying conclusion to this impossible to put down duet.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Night Witch picks up right where Spellcaster left off. This series should be read in order, and the books form a wonderful duet. I won’t give away too many plot details, but Paisley comes to terms with her magical affinity and her bond with Logan. And, they manage to get in plenty of romance while fighting the magical establishment.

For all the time Paisley and Logan spent bickering and not trusting each other in the first book, they are both all in now. Logan shows a sweeter side to his powerful spellcaster this time around, and forced proximity abounds. I love that they get to spend so much time together on page while puzzlingly out the mysteries around them. Their found family, along with Paisley’s parents and siblings, is fantastic. And don’t worry, there are plenty of sizzling hot scenes too.

I don’t know how I got lucky enough to stumble across this book on NetGalley so early, but I snatched it up and had to read it immediately. And read the entire book in a day. I was so happy to be back in this world with these characters!

Night Witch is the perfect follow up to Spellcaster. If you like sizzling stories where the witches figure out how to save the world and themselves, read this series!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Did I finish this in like three hours yes, yes I did. That’s just a testament to Jaymin Eve’s writing, she has a knack of sucking you into a story and also a talent for making hundreds of page pass in a blink of the eye. I’m absolutely in love with her writing and thought this was an excellent sequel to Spellcaster!

𝐇𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐛𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐈’𝐝 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐞𝐭; 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐢𝐦 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫.

Book Blurb: Paisley is coming to terms with her brand new variety of magic and that she was responsible for the monsters that were plaguing her through her first year of college when her former “best friend”, current stalker and future possible enemy Logan Kingston reappears in her life. With the council threatening to close in, can she learn how to control her new powers and find out what truly happened all those years of ago that has connected her family and Logan’s forever?

“𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐧, 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬. 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞.”

GUYS THE ROMANCE. THE ROMANCE! I DONT even know how it’s POSSIBLE to make Logan hotter, but if anyone could do it, it’s Jaymin Eve. Literally this man is soooooooooo down bad that my flabbers were GHASTED! He also turns out to be a rockstar??? And has two verryyyy hot friends, it’s almost unfair I live in the real world, their world sounds so much better.

“𝐈 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐚𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲. 𝐏𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞.”

I know this is a completed duology and it ends perfectly, but I still smell a spin off. The found family dynamic in this one was absolutely perfect and all the characters are so fleshed out that I need their stories as well!!!! Tobias and Sara, they are so electric together and I need a book about them, STAT! But also don’t forget Noah and Haley, and I guess Trevor and Bella (she’s still on thin ice with me).

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐦𝐲 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐧𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥 𝐦𝐞. 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥.

I’m very excited for the teased Shadow Beast and Spellcaster spinoff and I think I found some Easter eggs but that could also just be grasping for anything that connects me to my faves! I’m already feeling bereft and I’m craving my next fix of whatever Jaymin Eve has cooking up!

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐝𝐧’𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐞 𝐲𝐞𝐭 . . . 𝐈𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐦𝐲 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫.

Night Witch: Magic, Mayhem, and Shirtless Spellcasters!

Eeks! Paisley and Logan are back, and I was here for it! Jaymin takes them to new heights, and Logan is even hotter this time. Think alpha wizard energy, sizzling chemistry, and, um… way too many shirtless moments 🥵.

ARC REVIEW:
I received an advance copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review:

🌶️🌶️

This final installment wraps up their story beautifully, Paisley grows into her powers, relationships are tested and healed. The world building is incredible, the friendships and found family moments are heartwarming but beneath the sparks, the story explores grief, forgiveness, prejudice, and the messy, beautiful parts of life. It’s emotional, captivating, and impossible to put down. The ending is emotional, satisfying, and makes you feel every high and low! If you loved Spellcaster, Night Witch is everything you’re here for!

Thank you SO much HTP HIVE and JAYMIN EVE for the invitation to read the ARC copy of Night Witch. I am a huge fan of Spellcaster, and this was honestly the best Christmas gift ever.

Rating: 5 ⭐️
Spice: 3-3.5 🌶️

Tropes:
- Dark Academia / Magical College
- Witches & Warlocks
- Forbidden Magic & Witchy Politics
- Possessive, Morally Grey Hero
- Sexy Stalking
- Touch Her & 💀
- Found Family
- "Mine"
- He Gives Her His Clothes

I have been dying for more Weatherstone College since the moment I finished Spellcaster, and Night Witch absolutely did not disappoint. Did I stay up until 2 a.m. reading this book when I knew I had a busy day ahead of me? Yep. Do I regret it? Nope, not in the slightest.

I have 3 words for you: Logan Motherf*ckin Kingston.

"An angry and sarcastic Logan was sexy. An attentive and caring Logan was absolutely devastating."

That is 100000% spot on. Logan absolutely destroyed me in this book. I thought I loved him in Spellcaster, but Jaymin said, "Here. Hold my beer." He is still the cocky, broody, and intense Logan we meet in Spellcaster, but the gentle, caretaker side of him when it comes to Paisley that appears in Night Witch is everything. Not to mention his unapologetic stalker tendencies and immaculate touch her and be unalived vibes that hit just right. Logan has officially reached book husband status, and the witty banter, electric chemistry, and sizzling spice between him and Paisley checked off all of my pnr/romantasy-loving boxes.

The plot twist at the end of Spellcaster hints at where the story is heading, and Night Witch jumps right in from there. That means that there is a lot going on in this book from the start and a lot our characters have to face and resolve. This made for a pretty fast pace, but it never felt rushed; to me, the events flowed naturally and the story progressed quickly without skipping over details or important events. The pacing and the high stakes kept me engaged and made it virtually impossible for me to put the book down.

Jaymin excels at found family, and that is evident again in Night Witch. The way that everyone rallies around Paisley as she comes to terms with her magical affinity and its repercussions is so heartwarming. It is the relationships with Paisley's family and friends that help to make this story so much more than just a romance. Through them and Paisley's journey of self-discovery and acceptance, we are able to explore themes of prejudice, grief, forgiveness, and growth.

I devoured this book. There are moments that make your heart race and make your heart break; moments that make you swoon, make you laugh, and make you cry. Night Witch is as captivating and emotional as it is fun. It was such an exciting and gratifying conclusion to Paisley and Logan's duet. I just don't want to leave this world behind, so I'm crossing my fingers for some spinoffs with the supporting characters. One thing I do know though is that whatever is next from Jaymin Eve, I will be buying it. I am a stan for life!

I received an advanced reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review. The biggest thanks to Harlequin Trade Publishing, MIRA, and NetGalley for the ARC!

Let's face it - books like the Weatherstone College series are never going to win awards for best literature. They exist for one main reason: to entertain. Such novels provide a safe space for exploring behaviors we would never accept from partners in real life and allow us to live out little fantasies in our minds with no harm. NIGHT WITCH by Jaymin Eve is the perfect example of this.

While one of my biggest complaints about SPELLCASTER was the lack of burn in the slow-burning romance, NIGHT WITCH makes up for lost time. There is plenty of burn between Paisley and Logan to satisfy all readers. In addition, Ms. Eve does an excellent job of balancing that fine line of using the "touch her and die" trope without it becoming problematic. Logan may be too good to be true when it comes to a partner, but that's half the fun of romance novels!

Paisley's story comes to a relatively quick and mostly painless resolution, which is entirely too convenient and easy given what she is facing. There again, however, you don't mind because all we wanted was to see Logan and Paisley finally come together. Once they do, the novel draws to its logical conclusion, leaving you with sighs of happiness and contentment because all is right in their world, as it should be. NIGHT WITCH might not win literary awards, but it most definitely hits all the right spots in the romantasy world and makes for an immensely enjoyable reading experience.

This is an ARC review. I want to thank Jaymin Eve and Harlequin Trade Publishing I MIRA for allowing me the chance to read this book ahead of release day!

Logan and Paisley aka Precious

I am beyond obsessed with Logan’s nickname for Paisley. Can I be his Precious? He has just the right of possessiveness and allowing her to be the independent person she is destined to be. It is HOT!

I am equally obsessed with the found family that both Logan and Precious found at Weatherstone. Paisley has a very fiercely loving and loyal family that anyone might be envious of. I know I am. If I had siblings those are the ones I would want! Adding in the Weatherstone found family just increases that bond even more.

The overall plot I felt was slow until about the last quarter of the book and oh how it took off. There was a major emphasis on the physical nature of Logan and Paisley’s relationship which made the plot feel like it dragged at times. With that being said there is also an understanding of why as well which is how the rating is still a solid 4.25⭐️!

I am going to wish for more from this series to follow the found family and their stories thereafter or even Logan and Paisley now that they have defeated the true monsters.

Jaymin Eve delivers another easy-to-read and engaging book! I really enjoyed Spellcaster, so when this ARC showed up in my inbox, it jumped to the very front of my TBR.

Night Witch is the ultimate potato chip book — fun, addictive, and totally bingeable. And Logan Kingston is written as a love letter to romantasy girlies. He checks all the boxes:
- Burn the world for her
- Fated mates
- “Mine”
- And as added bonuses: masked man and billionaire

I will definitely do an audiobook reread to hear his lines out loud. 🥵

That said, it took me a minute to wrap my head around Logan’s transition from enemy to lover. It almost felt like instalove, but really, it was the result of epic amounts of pining. So, I’ll give it a pass.

Since the back cover description doesn’t get into too much detail about the storyline, I will avoid spoilers. But know that Night Witch is a satisfying conclusion to the Weatherstone College duology and an overall good time!

Thanks to Harlequin Trade Publishing | MIRA and NetGalley for an e-ARC in exchange for my review!

I think this duology might be my new favorite series from Jaymin Eve. I just devoured it, and it was such a satisfying conclusion to Paisley and Logan's story. I love this world and magic systems and I really hope Jaymin continues writing in this universe. After leaving us hanging on such an epic cliffhanger, we pick up right where we left off with Paisley back at home with her parents awaiting her father's trail. The book is well-paced and we get all of the answers we were waiting for and more. Seeing Paisley come into her powers was so, so satisfying and I absolutely loved Jaymin's twist on fated mates. The friendships, found family, and actual familial relationships in this one are so good as well. There were some fun twists with the Night Witch powers that I really did not see coming. Action-packed with great political intrigue and high-stakes romance, I highly recommend this one for fans of enemies to lovers, spicy paranormal romance. Thank you so much to Netgalley and HTP Hive for the arc.

I have been dying to read this book since I finished Spellcaster and let me tell you it did not disappoint!

I think this book being set as a duology was absolutely perfect for Logan and Paisley. We get that enemies to lovers vibes in book one and then are hit with the best golden retriever, I will burn the world down for you energy in book two.

Night Witch is fast paced and such an easy read. Once you start you can’t help but to keep going. I loved the development of Paisley and Logan’s relationship and their spice is mouth watering.

There is a strong found family energy throughout the book but I also love love love the biological family dynamic also. There are so many fantasy and paranormal romances where the tragic stems from the loss of family and in this book Paisley’s family is such a strong support system.

Logan is a top book boyfriend contender is your looking for a hot, powerful witch who only had eyes for his woman.

I definitely recommend this series!

Thank you NetGalley and HTP books for the early read!!

3.5 rounded to 4 for Good reads.

This book was a little underwhelming for me. I love the magic system. I love how Paisley figures out her affinity and gets some closure as to what happened to her in book one and starts to figure out how to hone in on her own powers and strengthen them. My only issue with this book is the two major conflicts that the main characters face are wrapped up in either two pages or less than a chapter. I wanted more of the intense scenario that was happening but it ended very quickly. This makes this almost completed duology a very quick read. While normally I love a fun quick read, when you are dealing with magic systems and witches and warlocks and things that are not as they seem, you want more context, you want more information.

okay one thing about jaymin eve that I do enjoy is that her stories can be pretty fast faced. I really enjoyed the magic system and Logan. That man really does not care about anyone the way he does about Paisley. The passiveness just hits right 🤌🏼

my only issue was how in book 1 she hated him and their relationship really just went from hate to love over night 🫠

I absolutely loveeee Sara & Tobias. those two are truly chefs kiss and I hope they get a book because they’re hilarious & I just know the banter and the following hate fucking will be great 🥰

thank you so much netgalley, harlequin trade, HTP Books, Mira Books & jaymin eve for this gifted advanced copy 🫶🏼

If you like spicy urban paranormal fantasies you will enjoy this soon to be completed duology. I really enjoyed learning about all the different types of magic casters in book 1 and the academy setting. While that isn't as much of a focus in book 2 it does set the stage for a larger world so I was surprised this was only a duology. This book is more focused on the relationship and solving what to do about our FMCs magic.

This is a fast and easy read, a vibe read if you will. I actually love Fated Mates and really like how our MC fawns over our FMC, I may be an acts of service girlie!

While overall I enjoyed this, it did feel rushed and I felt like it could of been longer or had a 3rd book as I was shocked when everything got wrapped up.

Thank you to the author and netgalley for this review opportunity- book releases June 23 2026.

Is the overall story entertaining? Yes. But some things just didn’t work for me personally.

There are two main conflicts throughout the story, and they both seemed to be resolved in a too easy manner that I just didn’t buy.

My other issue is the way the MC’s can be in the middle of a serious moment and all they’re thinking about is how hot one another is. I feel like this is a common thing in romantasy but it just took me out of the story a bit.

Positives were the unique magic and the wholesome family aspects. I still plan to give the author’s other series a go.

This book had be entranced from start to finish. I love Paisley and Logan even more. From all that tension and bickering in book one, these two have a powerful bond that goes deeper than magic. This story was so fun to read. Full of romance & mate bonds, mysterious magic & monsters, found family and really fun side characters that you’ll fall in love with. This duet was perfection and I hope to get more from this world!

This was a bit underwhelming for me. I absolutely love this world and the magic. It’s such a cool magic system and I do love the story. My issue is how fast and easy everything is. I wanted to see it all more flushed out and see the characters struggle a bit more in some of the things they need to do. Overall, I enjoy this series and I have a fun time reading it, but I wish there was more.

WHAT DID I JUST READ?! I’m absolutely wrecked that this series is over. Jaymin Eve wrapped it up in the most satisfying, emotional, and spicy way possible. Logan and his pet names? Perfection. And, Paisley, the growth she’s had throughout this series is everything.

That twist at the end?! I’m still recovering. The balance of action, heart, and heat was spot on, and the spice? Chef’s kiss.

Honestly, I’m not ready to leave this world. I’d happily devour spinoffs about the side characters because I need more of them in my life. Let’s keep it going, Ms. Eve… I’m not ready to leave this world just yet!

5 - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

“I’d let the world burn around us as long as you were okay. I’m not here except for when it comes to you.”

Night Witch is the second and final instalment in the adult paranormal romance duology, Weatherstone College. Written in first person POV the story continues after the events of book one, where Paisley has been hit with a secret that shakes the world around her. On top of that, the seductive and dangerous spellcaster she should be running away from, Logan, has finally laid his cards on the table and Paisley is grappling with what that means. Yet the threat is so much greater than Paisley realizes and the only one who can help her is the man she can't help but be drawn towards... first, though she must return to Weatherstone and face the music.

I ATE this up.

If you enjoyed Logan's stalkerish and feral tendencies in the first book JUST YOU WAIT!

Paisley is hit with a lot of revelations that forever changes her views of the world and also forces her to have to make some big decisions for her family. I liked seeing her accept support from Logan and together they are a force to be reckoned with. She kicks butt here!

Logan embraces a new attitude that I just fell hard for. He refuses to hide his feelings and he shows a level of possession that just hits the spot. He is so powerful and he will destroy the world for the woman he loves.

“One day…you won’t question the depth of my devotion to you. One day, you’’l expect me to choose you, because you’ll understand that I don’t exist with you…

In terms of spice I would place it at 3 spicy peppers out of 5 spicy peppers. There are approximately 5 spicy scenes across this book with the first scene appearing around the 31% mark. Spice is explicit and detailed and becomes progressively spicier with hands, oral, and more. Logan has quite a way with words which adds to the intensity. Paisley and Logan are in a very passionate relationship with previous history from book 1 so they have a lot of casual intimacy that balances their passion. I loved their dynamic because there was a true connection; they are “it” for each other. Spice is just one element of that connection and it was beautiful.

This was a book I did not stop reading once I started. It launches you right into the thick of things, which was refreshing. I liked how we still got additional avenues to explore outside of the overarching story that gave us a chance to build connections with side characters and main characters more. I honestly wasn't expecting some of these and they were so much fun amidst the chaos. Also, I loved the romance so much - Logan was everything. I also felt for Paisley as there is so much pressure on her because of how she has been portrayed. I liked seeing both the family supporting her as well as the found family, albeit one person. The camaraderie and family works so well with the action and intensity that comes with the witch world bearing down on them and Logan's father's machination. This book hits hard but our characters are ready for it. The climax is EPIC and I didn't want it to end.

Overall this book blew my socks off and I want more of this world!

Thank you Mira for this arc!

Thank you so much to Mira/HarperCollins for the advanced reader copy of this book. All opinions are my own, and VERY freely given.

If I could give this book 6-stars, a million stars, I would. I laughed, I cried, I fell in love. This book healed parts of me I didn’t know needed to be healed.

I’m not actually sure where to start, because this book has rewritten the fabric of my soul. It has everything, EVERYTHING I’ve ever wanted:

-Witches
-Magical school/academy
-A love so deep and pure that it feels too good to be true, but isn’t
-Masked men (YEP)
-Men who play guitars
-Sisterhood
-Found family (and blood family)
-Curses

This book delves more into the actual magic, magical abilities, etc. it’s fascinating and I haven’t ever read of abilities like this before. I love the way Jaymin Eve has built this lore and explained it - because it just makes sense.

More than that, it tackles real issues - when you disappoint family, how you rebuild fractured relationships, forgiveness, grief, loss, sadness, hurt. While these don’t seem “frilly,” they’re part of real life. Fantasy novels are supposed to be obviously not real, but with elements that hold a mirror up to our everyday lives, highlighting the saw emotions we feel.

Night Witch also shows the beautiful side of life - love, passion, loyalty, support, healing. I didn’t realize all of these elements would be included in this book, and I love it.

The majority of this book doesn’t really center around Weatherstone College. Our main characters face adventures and travels around the world. However, the ending takes place there and is explosive.

Jaymin Eve also explores how prejudices taint our society and fear causes people to lash out, in irredeemable ways. It’s a warning to listen, to learn, and to not act out hatred, fear, and/or ignorance.

This book is more than a fantasy or romantasy book. It’s an exceptional conversation about our societies and how we can be better humans - as demonstrated by fictional, and exceptionally hot, witches and warlocks.

For those of you concerned, don’t worry, this book is SPICY AND IT IS TOO GOOD. Too. Good. Pantingly good.

After reading this book, I can’t wait to go back and re-read Spellcaster, because there are some really important moments that I didn’t realize were as poignant as they are - in a good way! I fully intend to read Spellcaster and then reread Night Witch, when my physical copy arrives (yes, I preordered and paid for Night Witch, prior to receiving the eARC. After reading, I will absolutely still be paying for a physical copy. It’s more than a shelf-trophy. It’s about to become part two of one of my favorite book series ever written. Full. Stop.)

I am so honored to have been an early reader of this book. Thank you a million times over. I hope, if you’re still reading this, you pick up and love this series as much as I do.

Night Witch by Jaymin Eve

Weatherstone College 2 | Dark Academia Romantasy

✨ A fast paced, high stakes sequel that deepens the magic, sharpens the romance, and raises the emotional cost of every choice.

Returning to Weatherstone College was never going to be easy. Paisley is still reeling from the chaos of her first year and from the bond she shares with Logan Kingston, her sworn enemy and reluctant ally. There’s something dangerous and undeniable between them, made worse by secrets Logan refuses to share and a world that seems determined to tear them apart.

Paisley’s irradiated affinity may be the key to saving their world, but the ruling council wants her kind erased. With demons crossing into their realm, political enemies closing in, and Logan’s father hunting revenge, survival means trusting the one person she least wants to rely on.

What I Loved:
🖤 A dark academia setting that feels even more dangerous the second time around
🔥 Enemies to lovers tension that escalates instead of resolving too quickly
🧙‍♀️ A magic system that feels fresh and integral to the plot
💘 Logan’s intense yearning and protective instincts
👥 Found family dynamics that add warmth and grounding
⚔️ High stakes conflict with both political and supernatural threats
🧠 Paisley’s emotional growth as she steps into her power
🏃‍♀️ A fast paced story that keeps momentum from start to finish

Tropes & Elements:
🖤 Dark Academia
🔥 Enemies to Lovers
💘 Fated Bonds
🧥 He Gives Her His Clothes
🩸 Forbidden Romance
🗡️ Touch Her and Die Energy
✨ Elemental and Forbidden Magic
👥 Found Family

Vibe: intense, addictive, emotionally charged romantasy
Spice: high with strong tension and payoff
For fans of: magical academies, obsessive MMCs, high heat romantasy, and fast paced enemies to lovers stories

💜 Night Witch delivers everything you want from a sequel. Bigger stakes, deeper bonds, sharper magic, and a romance that burns hotter the more dangerous the world becomes. A strong conclusion to the Weatherstone College duet that kept me turning pages.

2.5 Stars Rounded Up ✨

I am SO sad to say this…Night Witch ended up being a letdown. Not bad, exactly -- but nowhere near what I expected from this sequel. I was so excited when this eARC hit my inbox from Harlequin. Because Spellcaster was a five-star read for me, I immediately jumped Night Witch to the top of my immediate TBR.

My biggest issue was the romance pacing and jump from 0 to 100. In the first book we have hot moments, but it's very much a love-hate relationship between Paisley and Logan. In Night Witch we're on the same timeline, on winter break, and suddenly the relationship launches straight into an intense, all-consuming dynamic that felt completely unearned given where book one left off (I’ll stay vague on what we find out in the beginning of Night Witch for spoiler reasons). What should have been delicious enemies-to-lovers tension instead read like instalove with a possessive rockstar alpha slapped on top. For a large chunk of the book, the story felt more like a paranormal rockstar (literally!) cozy romance than dark academia romantasy. There were lots of "you’re mine,” “I love you,” "I can't keep my hands off you"… and not much plot momentum. Things didn’t really start getting interesting until around the halfway mark, and by the time the actual story FINALLY showed up near the end, the book was basically over.

That said, it wasn’t all disappointing. The found family element is still strong, Weatherstone College remains a fun setting, and Jaymin Eve’s writing is undeniably bingeable. Sara is probably the funniest sidekick ever, and I was LOLing through most of her scenes. Haley is still sweet and bookish, and finally gets her air time ;) I just wanted more of what made Spellcaster shine: higher stakes, darker academia vibes, more mystery and drama, and less repetitive romance filler.

If you're a fan of urban fantasy and romance i.e. Zodiac Academy, Avalon Tower, Bewitched, Supernatural Academy, you'll love this.

Thank you MIRA, Harlequin, and NetGalley for the eARC!

Spellcaster (book one) left us reeling at the end. I was truly shocked and couldn’t wait to see what came after. The second half of the Weatherstone College duet, Night Witch, is a riveting journey of two Spellcasters, Paisley and Logan, finding their way back to each other after being driven apart as kids by feuding parents. It reads so easily, that you’ll sit down to read, realize the whole day went by and you finished the book. A unique and fun take on witches & warlocks in a dark academia setting.
Night Witch is full of everything we love trope wise in a dark academia~ elemental magic system, witches with banned powers, creatures straight out of nightmares (some of the human variety too), childhood friends to enemies to lovers, found family (with a heavy dose of familial support), betrayals, steamy heat, alpha warlock energy and of course my favorite “she’s mine” trope.
The found family in this book is *chefs kiss*. Haley and Sara are some of my absolute favorite side characters ever. I lost track of how many times I was howling with laughter between the three of them.
The growth between Logan and Paisley through book one and book two is immense, so worth the slow burn from book one.
My only complaint (if it’s even a complaint) is that it is a fast paced book, the events move very quickly at a pace that almost pulls you from the story at points because it goes so quickly from one problem/solution to the next. Which, I suppose, is to be expected in a duet and I am used to reading long drawn out series but I do wish this would’ve been a trilogy!
The ending was a nice conclusion yet, I absolutely did not want to say goodbye to the characters. It’s such a beautifully written world to be in, the characters feel like home. There’s so many side characters that I want to get to know.. backstories and where they go from here!
If you haven’t read Spellcaster yet, I 100% recommend grabbing a copy and screaming about it until Night Witch releases in June!

Thank you to MIRA and HTP via NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for my honest thoughts!

First, I would like to say thank you to Harlequin Trade Publishing for letting me ARC read Night Witch. I would also like to thank Jaymin Eve for the chance to ARC read for her again as well after ARC reading for her for Spellcaster.

Night Witch picks right up from the cliff hanger that we were left with in Spellcaster. In Night witch we follow once again the story of Logan and Paisley who are two Spellcasters that are trying to find their way in a world that had driven them apart at a young age due to an argument that their parents had over the death of Logan's mother. In this sequel we find out the exact connection between both Logan and Paisley and find out that at such a young age their magic created a mate bond, while they thought it was just a fun spell to do as kids it ended up connected them as their magic sensed each other. We find out in this book that Logan's father Rafeal (man I really REALLY couldn't stand that man) had placed a curse on Paisley, but Rafeal didn't realize that by doing so it also placed a curse on his only son Logan. Which then it's a race against the clock to try to reverse the curse and save Paisley. I guess the question you will have is did they make it in time? And with that question I highly suggest you pick up this book and find out for yourself.

This book could easily, and I mean easily be finished in one day, but for me I savored it the best that I could and had stretched it out a few days because well I wasn't ready to give up the world of Weatherstone College with Paisley and Logan if I am being completely honest. If you thought Spellcaster was a little bit of a slower pace, then hold on tight because Night Witch will be having you on the edge of your seat wanting more. The number of emotions that this book brings you will have you gasping and yelling as well.

The only thing I had an issue with is how fast paced and jamb packed this book was with information. At times I felt like my head was spinning and I had to go back and reread things a few times to actually grasp what was happening. I feel like this series honestly could've been a trilogy and the third book could've been the court hearing for Paisley's dad and then what happened afterwards with Logan and Paisley. I really wasn't ready to say goodbye to these characters and can't wait to eventually do a reread when I get my hands on this physical copy.

Jaymin Eve has a unique writing style, and I can't wait to dive into her other books in the near future. So once again thank you for this eARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was the last book I read of 2025 and it was one of my most enjoyable reads of the year.
I have been a fan of Jaymin Eve’s books for many years now and have read the majority of the books in her independently published backlist and enjoyed them all immensely.
As her first traditionally published works I was incredibly curious to see what her Weatherstone College duology, Spellcaster and NightWitch would be like.
In the past, any previous authors works I’ve read who have traditionally published books after having them independently published tend to change elements of their writing style or tone down their writing for a larger marketplace.
I’m happy that Jaymin’s style didn’t change in her writing of this duology although I honestly feel as though her writing was toned down just a smidgen in comparison to her independently published books.
In the first book Spellcaster, I was expecting an absolute doozy of a cliffhanger which I’ve come to anticipate from her previous books, but instead I felt as though the cliff was minor compared to some she’s left readers with in the past.
As for NightWitch…
It was a damn good time and a really fun, enjoyable read that I was able to get through in a day and a half.
During previous Jaymin readings I’d have spent more than half the time feeling edgy and antsy and just waiting for the crap to hit the fan but when reading NightWitch I was kind of relaxed and just enjoying the characters and world.
I think this is due in part to the sense I have that Jaymin maybe toned down her writing just a smidge for the larger audience, I could be wrong on that though.
It could also be because I attended one of Jaymin’s book events where she mentioned that one of the inspirations of the book was Charmed and I’m a huge Charmed fan so maybe the familiarity of comfort of that world informed my reading experience.
Who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️
Either way, it was a good book and I highly recommend it.
