A royal engagement ball. Secrets revealed. And the rise of another love interest. Just another day for Evan.
Prepare for the fifth installment in the Fantasy World series! Evan and his men are back for more muffins and mayhem, snarky banter, swoon, and the romance and silliness you've come to expect and love.
As an avid reader and coffee addict, Jaclyn Osborn can always be found with either a book in her hand or one being written on her laptop. The men in her stories mean the world to her, and she's thankful for each day she's able to do this as a career. She writes M/M romance across all genres and worlds, including contemporary, historical, fantasy, and paranormal.
I love being back with my favorite muffin lord and his men. Evan and his men are my happy place; they are completely swoon-worthy, and each member brings something unique, special, and completely endearing to their family. I love the fun new setting and the meeting of a potential new member of Evan's horde of men. This suitor has a fresh intensity that leaves me very intrigued at his role in Evan's destiny.
Overall, being back with Evan, Maddox, Briar, Lake, Rowan, and Callum was perfect, and once again, it went way too fast. I love the small moments, the mystery that moves the plot forward by providing important answers while leaving many questions unanswered. Overall, Evan's journey is full of love, action, mystery, and complete joy. I cannot wait for the next one!!!
4.25/5. Because editing. Also because how dare you give me Ban hope and then snatch that shit away? I don’t care if it’s necessary to the plot. That man deserved more. I will statue of liberty on that forever. Give me my Ban. 😭 Other than that, as usual, I loved it and I’m gutted I have to wait, like, another year, but I’m old and used to the struggle. Instant gratification is the new generation’s toxic fallacy.
Ahhhhhh. I’m screaming. What a book. I read it in one sitting. I adore Evan and all his men, whether they’re in his harem or his friends. The jokes, cuteness and just everything.
This book was so good. I literally need the next book in my hands now please 😂😂 it ended on a cliffhanger (kind of) and I need more. I need to know what happens. And I love being right. There is something said in the first book, that in highlighted wondering if it was important and boom, by the end of this book, it was correct. I love making connections!
I’m so glad we get to see Evan’s sixth man and cannot wait to see where their romance takes them and how everyone will react when they find out about who the sixth man is.
This is the fifth book in the series and it should be read in order.
Amazing! In my top five favourite books this year and my favourite of this series! I read every word with such pleasure and happiness. I adore Evan and his men! What always hooks me is the bonds, loyalty and love between Evan, Lake, Briar, Callum, Rowan and Maddox. It was so good to visit all of these wonderful characters again including the many side characters who I adore with all my heart!
I have been waiting a long time for the new addition to Evan’s men. The chemistry between them was fire and well worth the wait.
Poor Evan went through a lot in this one and I felt both outraged on his behalf and just wanted to hug him.
Oreo is my hero, I love him, I need more of him, and I want to reach into the book and take him home with me!
I really liked visiting the new locations and was very pleased that lots of my predictions came true. I definitely still have more theories with the new information.
So much happened in this book, some things definitely took me by surprise but I loved, devoured and savoured every moment. Now I just need the next one! And I’m so excited for the audiobook!
🧁 Why choose/ male harem 🌤️ Grumpy/ sunshine 🗡️ “Touch him and die” vibes 😍 Protective stubborn men 🥵 Villains with sharp jawlines 🛏️ “We’re gonna need a bigger bed” ⚔️ Knights and their big swords 🥰 Swoon, muffins and spice.
The full five stars, this is so rare for me! Plot: 📚📚📚📚📚 Character rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ World building: 🌎🌎🌎🌎🌎 Sexiness: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Feels: 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 Writing style: 🖊🖊🖊🖊🖊 Narration by Nick J Russo: 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌕
Evan!!! Sweetie I adore you but cmon it’s not a leak in the castle. Ban is one of your men. I adore you but I thought you’d have figured this out in this book. Apparently not.
Also Jaclyn, I loved the book and think you’re amazing. However I hate you so much for making me wait a year for another book… okay yeah it takes time to write a book let alone a quality book. But like I get can’t you just magically pop them out? I just wanna know the whole story already 😭. In conclusion, I don’t hate you but I’m real upset I can’t read all of the series yet.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Well. It’s no wonder this is one of my favorite series. Jaclyn has done it again! This may well be my favorite in the series so far. The amount of time that I spent on the edge of my seat is insane. Lol. And that ending. Ma’am. I’m gonna need book 6 STAT. Ugh. And I am LOVING getting to know our newest guy. Ugh. I am such a sucker for his type 🫠 Anyway, read this. It does NOT disappoint.
I adore this series with all my heart. This installment is a little darker than the rest, but super intruiging and still filled with so much sweetness.
Once again, I was reading this book and, before finishing, was sad it was almost over. Not even done and already missing it! That's how you know you're reading a good book! The release date for the next book is August (*sobs hysterically*) but I'm hoping, like this one, it's released a bit earlier than that because my heart just hurts at the idea of waiting....*does some math in head* 8.5ish months to get the next one. I try to be patient, as writers must have time to write and live their lives but....books!!!!
So, this one was a bit more action packed than the others (at least in my eyes). The engagement ball for Sawyer and Alina went....well, it did not go as planned, at least not for *everyone*. Some people, mean, wicked people probably were happy at the outcome. But, before the trouble, there were sexy times. We got to see Miles, Kuya, and Sawyer again. Some new characters came in, and some that were, shall we say, lurking in the shadows, came out. Again, more of Evan's story, as well as his family's story, was revealed, which was interesting but also more than a little heartbreaking.
Gosh, I am trying so hard not to give away spoilers but I want to say so much....ahhh!
It was nice, as always, to see Evan get some private time with each of his guys. And, *minor spoiler* Evan got Briar and Maddox to be together sexually, finally! They were both concerned it might hurt Evan to see them together like that, they're just *so sweet*! But, Evan got some time with Callum, fun in the tub with Rowan (after he spied on him talking with Lupin, who again brought cryptic messages!!) and Lake....oh, he and Lake got closer during a very tough, potentially scary time.
This doesn't always end on a cliffhanger, but when it does, man oh man does it drive me nuts! As I said, as of right now, it says it'll come out in August and my heart's just all 'No!!!! Can't wait that long!!!! Must know everything will turn out okay!!!!'.
Absolutely love this. Eagerly anticipate the next book. Please oh please let it come out sooner than August!!!!
I can get a bit bored after book 3/4 in a series if they all focus on the same characters but with each of these books, I only become more besotted with Evan and his men.
I'm not ashamed to admit that I have a massive soft spot for the demi-human Lake that only seems to get more intense in every book - he's such a cutie! Him and Briar remain my favourites of Evan's men at this stage, but we'll see if things change.
It's not just the MMCs I've grown incredibly attached to though, I also adore their close friends, and I so love the found family they've created. Prince Sawyer's kindness and Kuya's cheeky nature ensure these two supporting characters have a special spot in my heart too.
What's great about these books is that there is a continuous plot that flows so well, and doesn't feel forced at all, with everything seeming to unravel so smoothly. Evan's life just seems to get more complicated as the various twists keep coming, but the books still manage to be light hearted, warm and easy to read, making this a very enjoyable series.
Highly recommended if you're looking for something to make your day feel a little lighter.
Listen. I stan the Muffin Lord and his men SO HARD. Book 5 did NOT disappoint.
The plot was plotting. More intense and exciting than previous books. Literally could not put this down, heart racing, WHATS GONNNA HAPPEN!? I'm so glad to see more uncovered about Evan's past and future.
The men? Yes please. Everyone one of Evan's males gets some quality time with him and Evan discovers a few new things he likes. Ow owwww. I'm SO happy that Lake is a focus on this book, he is a sweet little thing that gets all the love. Outside of the men, the rest of the characters are well written and lovely as always.
Listen. I don't know what Jaclyn is putting in these books but it has to be one of THE best series I've read this read.
Nobody is surprised that I absolutely loved this book. This series has a special place in my heart and I never want it to end. I could read pages upon pages about these characters and never get bored.
We get some new revelations in this book (some of them I guessed) and it kind of ends on a cliffhanger, which is going to make me crazy until the 6th volume is out. I don't think I'm patient enough for this. I'll have to reread the entire series, otherwise I'll miss this world and characters too much.
My favourite thing about this series are all the heartwarming friendships and relationships, I'm a sucker for found family and it is done very well here.
🧁cozy fantasy 🧁why-choose-romance 🧁found family 🧁great worldbuilding
I wanted to write this review after the last book in the series but gave it one more book for redemption. I really enjoy this story. What i don’t enjoy is the constant recap. I feel like if you are this far, even the 3rd book, u shouldn’t have it. I was starting to get very annoyed and started skipping paragraphs. Bc this is crap i already knew. Also the constant mentioning of Rowan’s snagle toothed fang. That was very annoying. But again the story kept me interested. Otherwise i would’ve quit reading bc of these issues.
Evander deserves apologies from everyone in the story for continually insulting his lethal skills and balance. We finally get an answer for who the next fated mate is and we get a rehash from Lupin on how Ev's actions (along with others) continually alter his story.
His banter with *you know who* though?! I was for it and so pleased that Lake clocked the situation immediately. Book 6 and suitor #6 is going to be fully of drama. I do wonder if *you know who* likes to share and if there is a bed that can hold about... 8 individuals.
Tbh this book shows signs of the problem with harem series; the bigger the group, the harder it is to keep a cohesive storyline and give all the characters enough screen time. Maddox seems like the authors fave, but I find him pretty arrogant and boring. Maybe I'm too British but it's also unbelievably soppy and swoony all the time, and quickly became wayyy too much! I don't hate it, it's very easy listening, but sometimes less is definitely more. And I know it's just a bloody book, but sometimes the lack of communication between them is really aggravating!
Wow, I don't know where to begin. I honestly think this series is next level. The writing is like nothing I’ve ever read before and not only is the story telling thrilling, romantic and full of so much detail but you can truly feel how much Jaclyn care about these characters. I think it’s her best writing. The way the plot is expanding and all this new informations is coming to us along with the action and love makes for an incredibly well rounded book. This is one of my books of the year.
As always I loved everything about this book, Evan and his men are just amazing! I loved finding out more about Evans and the kingdoms past! And finally properly meeting Lord Onyx, so good, can’t wait to see what he and Evan get up too! I’m gagged after that revelation about the king!!! Also Kuya is the best, I adore him so much! Can’t wait for the next book and Evan to be reunited with the rest of his men!
Aaaahhhh how dare you end this book like this? MAJOR cliffhangers 😭😭 I can’t wait for the next volume to come out. The story took the best of turns and everything is clicking into place. The little harem is about to become bigger with our own cedar and woodsmoke man. I’m so excited for what’s coming next, now that we know Evan’s true identity and we found out who’s the real villain I want to see how things close up.
This series is so addictive. I devoured this book just like the first 4 and I am already eagerly awaiting book 6 because I need more. I love Evan’s kindness for absolutely everyone and his inability to keep quiet in serious situations. The plot is definitely thickening and I am so excited for the new mate because I 100% guessed it!
Another one is found I wonder who will be the last since it's just one book left and there will be short stories afterwards? I like the story building and finally some lake time I sense the author fav is Callum more Rowan and lake please and the good doc as well
All the pieces are falling into place...Evan, son of is absolutely the one to bring the kingdom together with his love for all kinds of 'men', BUT watch out for those damn scheming, untrustworthy Royals! A demon Lord may well be the next recruit to the harem...go get those men of Evan's and protect them 🏳️🌈😍👹🏳️🌈
The first part was a very cozy warm-up to many exciting things that happened later in the book. For sure I had to tell myself to just settle back and enjoy the gentle moments in the beginning of the book. And once I did, I made it to the quite delightful happenings later.
Genuinely so pissed I have to wait until August for volume six. I started this series out of sheer curiosity. The blurb for volume one caught me, but the cover made me hesitant (I know). I have loved the entire series. I love the mighty muffin lord and his “harem” (IYKYK lol).
I loved everything about this book ! I have cried more with this book series, then I have with any other book series before! I love how they love and need each other to just be .
