My copy had so many typos, repeated paragraphs, and plot line inconsistency that made me think AI wrote the book.

One major thing that doesn’t spoil much: first her dad is 46 and she lost her mom ten years ago. Then her dad is 21 when he gets married and 25 when he loses his wife. Say what?!? This just kept happening. How is it possible to rewrite so many details of the characters and no one else notices?

It also was such a weird ending point.

I kept wondering why I was finishing the book - like others said, the MFC’s personality and journey intrigued me. I wish it was better written.

This book is a slooooow burn. They don’t start “pucking” till around the 64% mark. I like that there was no bullying aspect from the 3 mmc’s since that seems to be the thing with why chooses lately. The guys were decent and treated her well… until after they “pucked”. They were assholes about it and when her father seen pictures of them hanging out, he told them to stay away from her or they will ruin their career’s. At this time, they supposedly love her but choose to stay away and ignore her, they don’t even let her know until she comes knocking on their door crying. It just seemed like they chose their career over her and didn’t even grovel, they waited for her to run to them. And thats why I think the fmc was weak. She allowed others to bully her and didn’t stick up for herself till towards the end of the book and allowed the men to treat her like that after they had sex (on her freaking birthday too!!). And then when they ignored her, SHE went grovelling to them… ugh, no!! I also hated that the guys constantly argued and would get jealous over each other when it came to the fmc. I hate when reverse harems do that. I just don’t see how this relationship is going to work out long term.

I’m giving this book two stars. Unfortunately, it contains a lot of typos, which made the reading experience frustrating at times. There are also consistency issues with the relationships: the story revolves around three men and one woman, yet they are repeatedly referred to as “four,” which only makes sense in very specific contexts—such as when including the female lead herself or when she refers to her “four guys” in the final chapter, counting her father. For most of the book, however, this creates confusion.
Additionally, there are several timeline errors, particularly regarding the age of the protagonist’s father—when he got married, when he became a widower, and how long her mother has been deceased. These inconsistencies detract from the overall credibility of the story.
That said, the storyline itself isn’t bad. The book is easy and quick to read, even though it may appear lengthy at first glance. While I’ve definitely read better stories, this hasn’t put me off the author entirely. I would still consider reading other books by her, and I hope she revisits the Kindle version to correct the typos and properly edit the book, as it has the potential to be much stronger with those improvements.

Love story with 3 hockey studs and a young girl

This is definitely a different book. A timid, anxious 21 year old girl (yes girl) falls in love with three college hockey stars.
Briarose Bailey is a junior in a small private college. She has severe anxiety when dealing with anyone other than her father. She dresses in baggy, ugly clothes to hide herself. Her father is the coach of the college hockey team.
Briarose crashes a party at 3 hot hockey players' home. They are all attracted to this odd young woman, each innocently grazing her arm or shoulder. She arrives at their hockey game the next day, they win, and they conclude that she is their lucky charm.
Each guy pursues her, even though her father is ultra possessive. They each fall in love with her, and she reciprocates.
This story is so unbelievable and unrealistic. Perhaps they can play house until 2 of the guys who are seniors graduate and get drafted to different hockey teams, but that is it.
This had a big ick factor for me. I definitely do not recommend it.
I have enjoyed this author's books in the past, so I hope that this is a one-off and that it does not representative of her future books.

It starts innocent enough when painfully shy Briarose appeases her dad’s wish and attends a party celebrating the start of the college year. An interesting relationship starts to form between her and three of his hockey players. She is totally off limits. So much so their careers are at stake if they cross that line. She has to choose but what it’s she loves all three for different reasons. Can they overcome the fall out when a jealous ex outs them on the internet?
Oh gosh this was so powerful on so many levels. Each one of the men have their own trauma that Briarose is the one thing that helps. Together the three of them give her strength, courage, security, making it difficult for her to choose just one. Such an endearing romance filled with just the right amount of spice. *** ARC review ***

If your favorite tropes are hockey, forbidden romance, why choose, coaches daughter then add this to your list!

Leighton has done it again and surprised me with yet another new trope for her books! I absolutely LOVED how she wrote this story along with each character that was part of this book. I think it was a brilliant idea to put the coaches POV towards the end of the book so the reader can see where the father is coming from. I kind of wish we could have read about what they would have gone through once their relationship was out to see how the players would have reacted and protected Briarose. Did I wish the rest of the team would have protected Briarose at the pool party? Yes, but I don’t know if it would have been too much or made the story even more perfect… I can’t decide! Either way, I still devoured this book in a day. I can’t wait to read more!!!

I really liked this book. It plays on the superstition that some athletes have and leads to Briarose being brought into the orbit of Axel, Gene and Stephan. I liked the evolution of her character annd how over time she found herself annd her voice. Each of the MMCs bring something unique to the situation and it shows in how they each help Briarose. I did enjoy the dynamic that her dad had in the story as well.

If you like hockey romance and why choose then this is worth checking out and adding to your TBR. Enjoy!.

OH WOW !!! It was a steamy hockey story between all of them. It was a page turner and the suspense was so intense. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn't even put it down. Her protected dad was their hockey coach but she was sexual attracted to all three guys and the chemistry was too hot. Will her father stand for this bad behavior. But she couldn't fight the temptation any longer but who will she choose to be her only lover in this moment. Will her accept this relationship right now at this time.
I highly recommend this book and you won't be disappointed. I received advance copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving my honest review. Trina Jones

Briar-Briarose (Briarose Bailey) - Prefers to be alone, social anxiety and stutters with other but her dad, and apparently the guys.

Stephan- Steph (Stephan Maddox)-a flirt, has an annoying ”ex”.

Axel-Ax (Axel Monroe)- the ”loud” guy, likes to be seen, a flirt.

Gene (Gene Dolan)- the serious guy, doesn’t play around as the others, stoneface.

The book was ok/good. It wasn’t Leightons best book, but it’s still worth reading.
But for me, it felt kinda rushed. One page ”she’s not my type” to a few pages later ”I’m falling for her”.
But at the end I really enjoyed it.

This isn’t a trope that I would normally read, but I was pleased by the character development and the way the relationships work. Take a homebody girl that doesn’t like attention and add 3 hot hockey guys, and you get a combination that steams the pages. The addition of the protective dad, who just happens to be the coach, adds to the reality. This was a longer book, but I was able to read quickly because I couldn’t put it down!

While the “why choose” genre seems to be all the rage now, it’s not one of my faves. That being said, the story line with Briarose finding herself more than made up for the under themes. I liked how she was able to, with the help of Steph, Gene and Axel, she grew into a more confident woman. It’s a slow burn spice, that shows the intricate relationships in a poly couple. Definitely for mature readers.

No matter how many books I have read by Leighton which is all of her books so far, she always amazes me with her talent at writing such hot, romantic storylines. OMG this reverse harem book is hot stuff, and the characters Stephan, Axel and Gene are swoon worthy men who make this romance amazing. Have a fan handy because you're definitely going to need it once you begin reading about Briarose and the 3 men she loves for different reasons.

Well I hot damn that was insanely so freaking good I melted into a damn puddle while reading this book, the spice was amazing but it was the men having me melt. I loved each of these hockey players in my own way, they were so fiercely protective of Briarrose and helped her out of her shell. I loved how each man brought something different to the table and how they all made this work in the end. The ending couldn’t have been better

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I liked how the relationships developed between Briarose, Stephan, Axel and Gene and how they fell in love and supported each other. Their relationship was forbidden but what they gained was worth it. I was glad that her father finally accepts them.
