Enhanced #2

Retribution & Redemption

Rate this book
After a wait of three years, the long anticipated sequel to Ben Brown’s acclaimed first novel is finally here.
Enhanced Retribution & Redemption picks up where his award-winning novel, Enhanced, left off.
In this exciting continuation of Zac’s adventures, Zac and his team find themselves delving ever deeper into the underworld of enhanced humans. However, old enemies plot against them, resulting in new and ever more dangerous threats not only to his team, but to the world.
This tale moves smoothly from location to location and obstacle to obstacle. At every turn, Zac’s pursuit of his quarry is met with new and increasingly bizarre hurdles. The cost involved in conquering those hurdles is high, but not as high as failure.
Enhanced Retribution & Redemption takes the reader in an all-new direction from the book’s predecessor, a direction that will leave you reeling with every page you turn. This book is packed with Ben Brown’s hallmark action, but also travels a darker, more intense path.
If you are looking for an action-packed book that flows a little deeper than just bullets and explosions, this may be just the book for you.

About the author

Ben Brown

120 books12 followers
Ben Brown was born in Reading, England. He struggled through school academically. Diagnosed with dyslexia meant being removed from class to attend ‘remedial” lessons. Ben did not enjoy reading and writing, and left school early to work with his father as a builder. It wasn’t until his mid-twenties that Ben persisted in teaching himself to read — and finally read his first novel.

Ben emigrated to Perth, Western Australia in 1990 where he now lives with his wife Michelle and two teenage children, Chelsea and Zac.

He planned his first novel each day while working as a bricklayer, to pass the hours. His love of scientific facts, futuristic possibilities, and fast-paced action infects his plots and writing style.

Twist in the Tale
Love this Authors books; there is the usual action-packed story - fast and exciting but it's more, and the "more" is what keeps me coming back.
This is the ultimate terror and it seems even the greatest super-heroes can't win this one. I love the ending, "the Twist in the Tale", it's so unexpected. But let's get back to the "more" pervading all Ben Brown's books. In spite of the horror, there is goodness, forgiveness and kindness; all the values we seem to be short of and I won't say just in this modern world, but in all the ages of man, and worse in the ones he has dominated the Earth. We can't live in peace with the world, nor ourselves and many feel crushed by that knowledge, as if the good in us is smothered by the evil. However Ben Brown gives us hope; even if we fail we can still win... sometimes, what seems to be irretrievable evil can be saved...sometimes...
In another life this author would be a priest, a pure soul to guide us to do better, but he's an author instead. He shows us the humanity so many have buried deep and it desperately needs to be set free, to save not just themselves, but everything. He does just that, shows us all how to do better, while we also enjoy a damn, good read.
