Seventeen-year-old Nevelyn Rhue is the daughter of the Silverclaw pack, a girl no one waits for, watches, or wonders about. With no wolf awakening and no legacy to her name, she’s considered a defect—until her father strikes a desperate deal with Alpha Parker of the Lustrous one mating in exchange for an unspoken future severance. A Luna for a season. A placeholder. A ghost bride. But Nevelyn begins to notice strange things. Her presence heals sickness. Her silence shifts power. Her dreams begin showing lives that aren’t hers. Whispers of “Wolf of Destiny” float in the air around her—unwelcomed, unanswered. When Parker does exactly what he promised—mating her, then rejecting her before the next full moon—the deal is complete. She's cast out. But she’s not broken. Because she remembers everything now. And the wolf they thought didn’t exist? She’s finally waking up.
Too many abilities gain too quickly mastered even quicker. Like almost 15 supernatural abilities. None of them believable. Master battle, technician, healer, able to neutralize poison, with only a thought, savior, ability to see corruption in whatever form it comes in?, Ability to heal by just her very presence, ability to heal a rabid Wolf, I think there’s even a mention of being able to fly. Ugh. Great premise. Super poor execution. Gained her ability one of her abilities in the first chapter and by the time we get the chapter 10, she’s got like 10 abilities and then the other five or so show up in the last. This story is not even believable in the very unbelievable world that it takes place in. It’s fantasy, but not even be believable fantasy.. Doesn’t even seem that the main character has done any growth. Double ugh.
This isn't the best wolf story I've read, by far. It was ok, just flat. The story itself could have been good, and I know it's paranormal fiction, but you have to make it genre believable. I felt that parts were rushed and relationships not expanded on enough. I would love to have known more about her family life and less about other wolf clans that really added nothing to this.
Enjoyed the story but it felt more like an idea as no real depth developed. I even think if this was worked on more it could evolve into a series. So to conclude, great idea but needs work to become a great story
It's what I was expecting. Easy to read and get into. Liked the characters and the reveal as well. It's also an okay story not brilliant but good of it's kind.
