All secrets have a price. And at Avernia College? It's a steep one.
Elle Anderson, fresh off a failed foray into Hollywood, joins her brother and sister at Avernia College and immediately stirs up trouble. An awkward meet cute at a gas station evolves into a fiery night of passion. Unfortunately, Elle soon learns that her one night stand was with her new Theatre professor, Sutton DuPont. Will the sizzle fizzle out? Or will the spark blaze even hotter?
Jealous Rage, the much anticipated follow up to Endless Anger, is a joyride. It's fast and naughty and oh so good. The plot is well-developed, blossoming from the roots laid in Endless Anger and growing to stand on its own as it explores new conflict and characters.
The conflict is multi-layered, focusing on the deadly secret societies that rule Avernia, while also exploring past traumas that have had a lasting impact for the MCs. As for Elle and Sutton, they feel genuine, and it's easy to root for their illicit, spicy relationship.
Honestly, I felt a lot of trepidation coming into Jealous Rage. I loved Endless Anger, but its most brutal scenes still live rent- free in my head. However, Jealous Rage, while still deadly and terrifying, didn't leave me feeling nauseous. It's truly a stellar second act in the series.
Dark Academia fans get ready. Avernia College is back in session January 6, 2026. Come meet the drool-worthy professor you'll just die to get detention with.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the e-arc in exchange for an honest review!
I am so sad that I did not love this book. Unfortunately, I just didn’t care for Elle or Sutton. They both were really boring in my opinion and I wasn’t emotionally invested in either of their stories. I wish I could’ve loved them but they just weren’t for me. I found their romance too insta lovey for my personal taste.
The plot was BONKERS. Truly. Endless Anger’s plot is twisted and violent, but the plot here is just borderline absurd. Sex cults that perform human sacrifices are apparently not my thing. I just did not vibe with most of the things happening in this book. The characters barely connect to anyone from book 1. Like Elle is Asher’s sister but she speaks to him maybe 3 times in this book and she doesn’t even know the details of what happened to him last semester?! The attitude all the characters have of not getting into anyone else’s business is so annoying because how is nobody nosy 😭 I was begging Elle to ask ANYONE anything about last semester omg.
The plot just felt a tad contrived and too coincidental. I also just have to say as someone very intrigued by Beckett in Endless Anger, the treatment of his character and arc here was so saddening to me. Very unsatisfying and I guess we just don’t get a book for him? :( I was rooting so hard for him!!
Also I feel for a book that in part should set up Quincy’s, it doesn’t do her any favours. It makes her supremely unlikable. I think she’s interesting but her actions in this book are….well. Odd.
Although this was a miss for me, I’m excited for Foxe’s book whenever it comes out 😌😌
Thank you to NetGalley for giving me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
It's been 5 hours since I finished this one and I can't stop thinking about Elle and Sutton. This book was perfect and I honestly could have read 300 more pages about them!!! I'm sooo damn excited about Quincy's book and what else there is to come in this series!!!
Jealous Rage by Sav R. Miller will be about a dark, contemporary romance set in the Monsters Within universe, a spin‑off of the Monsters & Muses series that blends dark academia, forbidden attraction and layered secrets against the backdrop of an elite, dangerous college called Avernia College. The story will follow Elle Anderson, a twenty‑five‑year‑old freshman running from her past, and Professor Sutton DuPont, a conflicted, enigmatic teacher with a complicated family history, as they find themselves drawn into a reckless, taboo connection that neither should pursue but both struggle to resist.
This was my first five star book of 2026 but am I not surprised. No because Endless Anger was also a 5 star for me last year. I couldn’t put this book down. I recommend reading book one before book two to get the full experience of these books.
Pre-read August 2025: firstly, we finally have a cover and she is GORGEOUS!!
Secondly, um, hello?? I’ve just read the first chapter and I am not okay. I’m currently lying in a puddle of want (and inexplicable need) for Elle and Sutton. My cheeks literally hurt from grinning so much over them, and now someone please tell me how am I supposed to survive until January 2026??
To say that I started this thinking that I would be able to put it down would be a lie. I knew I wouldn’t be able to Sav R. Miller has me addicted and I can’t stop reading her books. Jealous Rage is the second book in the Monsters Within series. A next generation series to Monsters and Muses. And yet again has solidified that I need to prioritize, Monster and Muses. In this one we have a bit of a taboo/ forbidden relationship with a professor and student dynamic…and I ate it up! Elle is coming to college as a freshman after making a name for herself in Hollywood. She is 25. Then we have Sutton DuPont. He is our professor. He teaches theater and he didn’t know that Elle was going to be his student. I loved how they met. Who doesn’t like a one night stand…that isn’t! And how they first interacted it had me so intrigued and wanting to move on fast into the story. And I was not disappointed at all! I love that we still have that secret society and we get to see more. We are back at Avrernia so hopefully you have read the first book in this next gen series..if not recommend it! You will see our first couple! Now when I think of a dark academia romance this series is what I am goign to think of. It has all the elements that I want. Secret Society, Dark Academia, with plot and a romance and spice that hits! This book is so good you will not want to put it down! I can’t wait for more books in this series. I will be first in line! Thank you to Sourcebooks Casablanca for the complimentary Copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
the juiciest sloppiest most devoted 5 star ever - I have been counting down the months, weeks and days for this book since August!
Endless Anger set the bar quite high with the Monsters Within series but Jealous Rage absolutely blew it out of the park!! (Esp with the Foxe and Aurora crumbs too, I need them to get their story soon please 🥹)
To begin with, can we all thank Sav for her incredible world building?! The details and backstory of Avernia, literally every single detail of the lore was brilliantly thought out and the way every plot twist came together one way or another literally blew my mind- when I tell you that I was tabbing tf out of my copy and making up my own theories like a mad scientist while I read 😭
Elle was such an entertaining FMC, I loved how curious and determined she was about what was happening in Avernia and the way she teased Sutton? SCREAM! The endometriosis rep was wonderfully written and she was such a strong yet beautifully vulnerable character - like, that’s my baby 😭💗
Sutton Dupont ARGHHH - I have been SALIVATING for this man since his first appearance in Endless Anger and I LOVED HIM SO SO MUCH! He was a mix of a nervous Boy Scout but also switched to the most petulant serious man at other times which was so funny to read. I lived for his bluntness and dry humour, plus him meeting Kallum? Best entertainment. But in all seriousness, he was such an amazing green flag MMC - the responsibility he took upon himself as the eldest sibling, especially when it came to Beckett and his family was so painfully relatable, so having Noelle come along and crack his armour, heal his trauma was heartbreakingly beautiful.
Sav has this magic ability to write such strong characters but also let us see the traumatised inner children inside them and bring them the peace and love they deserve, I adored her writing so much and I can’t wait to see how she writes Quincy’s story.
Jealous Rage is part of an interconnected series so definitely read Endless Anger first as there’s a lot of lore surrounding Fury Hills, Avernia College and the secret societies which you need to understand first!
A huge thank you to Source Books for providing me with a physical arc, and to Sav’s team and NetGalley for the respective e-arcs in exchange for an honest review 💗
I thoroughly enjoyed Endless Anger, and I am incredibly thrilled to have received an arc of Jealous Rage.
Something I love about Sav R Miller is that she is unafraid to write about the darker, taboo topics that require content warnings. I think, as a society, we have become so afraid to read stories with topics that are uncomfortable or difficult, even if it fits the storyline. It’s why so many dark academia, horror, etc novels seem so watered down. How are you going to write about cults or murder plots without actually writing the details? I love that she doesn’t shy away from including those uncomfortable or difficult scenes because they are so so necessary to the overall storyline.
That being said, both Endless Anger and Jealous Rage are DARK. I’m not sure what else you’d expect with sex cults and secret societies making sacrifices but, just make sure you’re aware before you read.
However, I really liked this one. It took me a minute to get into, but I finished the back half of the book in a day. I love how many layers of secrets and betrayal there are in each book, and while some things might be predictable, others came out of left field. There were quite a few reveals that I did not even have the slightest inkling towards, helped along by both of our main characters being too obsessed with each other to be paying full attention to what is going on.
I will say, the absolute highlight for me (as always) is Kallum popping up as the badass overprotective father. It’s one of my favorite parts of knowing the main trio in these books are Anderson children… knowing that Kal is gonna pop up sometime during each book and fuck shit up.
I am so grateful to Sav R. Miller, Team Sav, and the publishers for sending me an advanced copy of Jealous Rage. I can’t wait to see what secrets Quincy is hiding & what happens next in Vengeful Destruction!
5🌟i had a very strong feeling i would love this one and i was right. utterly devoured it in one sitting. like so into it i forgot to eat dinner and drink something. sutton and elle both have serious trauma, and the intricacy of their relationship is expertly crafted. i think it’s sav’s best book (so far!) in terms of storytelling. the back drop of a theatre/play/acting heightened the drama in a way that i really enjoyed. i was also impressed with the amount of disability and queer rep sav managed to work into this novel. both mcs and side characters were shown to have disabilities and/or be queer. and it didn’t feel forced, it was just real. she has a great record with that, but i think it was well executed in this novel, and i especially appreciated the representation in BOTH mcs for people with chronic illnesses.
additionally, this book really added to the meta storyline and world building. some of the revelations are far more shocking than others and i can’t wait to see how it all plays out in the next one. sav has woven quite the tapestry and i’m sure the remaining un-woven threads will contain just as much suspense, violence, and mystery as those threads that have been tied off.
tropes: student x teacher, cults/secret societies, dark academia, small town university, haunted pasts, one night stand, dark romance, forced proximity
great for readers who want their next gothikana or nocticadia (seriously, this series is perfect for you)
4🌶️ the forbidden relationship always adds some steam in my opinion. and these two didn’t need any extra steam, their chemistry is intense. this starts with a one night stand, so there’s quite a bit of taunting, almosts, and anticipation throughout. with plenty of explicit scenes as well. these two are both a bit on the wilder side and some content isn’t for all readers. cw: so many public or semi-public places
Andddddd here we go again! Back for book 2 of the Monsters Within series from Sav! And let me just say, for me, Elle and Sutton lived up to my expectations!
I'm loving the plot, and where this series is going. I've so been looking forward to Jealous Rage since finishing Endless Anger!
Avernia College is steeped in lore and curses and general family legacy secrets! (Honestly in part gives me TVD vibes with the founding family aspects!) Because Sutton is not only a professor, but part of a legacy family and in one of the college's society groups, we get a real deep dive into the workings of at least one of them, which completely had me hooked! So much happens, yet, I still have so many questions that I'm looking forward to getting in the next book!
Sutton DuPont is everything for me! I love his character so much! There's just something about a man with trauma and secrets that gets to me. And of course we have that forbidden teacher/student aspect, which adds this delicious tension and moral upset.
Elle Anderson also gave me all the good feels! She's exactly how you picture the middle child to be in any family. And funnily enough, she does anything BUT fade into the background. I love her compassion for her siblings, she really just wants that kind of close relationship that no one but a sibling could understand.
These two together really set the scene for what could be the makings of a romantic tragedy, turned inevitable lovers. 💛 the way Sav wrote this truly made their relationship feel kismet! Their chemistry is definitely explosive, and I love their dynamic!
This is an ARC review I'm leaving voluntarily and all thoughts are my own.
Jealous Rage is a dark academia, student/professor, forbidden romance, driven by jealousy, obsession, and raw emotion. This story follows Elle Anderson, who is the Anderson family’s second-born, and Sutton Dupont who is the small-town broody, secretive, handsome professor.
Elle is looking for a fresh start so she decides to join her siblings and attend Avernia College. What Elle wasn’t expecting on the first day was to walk into Professor Duponts class. Sutton becomes torn between his family’s dark history, and the sweetest forbidden fruit he’s ever tasted.
This story is a bit of a slow burn🔥 with lots of yearning until the tension is so thick that we get that beautiful “f it” moment. The chemistry between Elle and Sutton is off the charts, and leaves you wanting more on every page. Elle and Suttons jealous moments, while probably very toxic, were so delicious it had me giggling and kicking my feet.
Sav R. Miller came out of the gates swinging in Endless Anger, and continues to keep that same energy in Jealous Rage. She has yet again proven that she knows exactly what she’s doing in the morally grey, dark romance corner of the world.
“You think nobody notices you unless you’re on a stage putting on a performance, but some of us are still watching even after the mask comes off and the curtain falls, Elle. Some of us like what’s underneath more.”
Thank you to Sav R. Millers team who graciously gave me an eARC, and this review was given voluntarily. 🫶🏻
I am a sucker for next gen stories! Absolutely love them and Sav Miller has not disappointed AT ALL bringing us the spinoff series of the Monsters and Muses books! Jealous Anger is book 2 in the Monsters Within series and it will take you on an emotional ride! Elle and Sutton are everything! If you love dark, twisted, college romance, with a forbidden professor and student relationship, throw in some CRAZY secret societies and so much angst and slow burn, you must read this book!
I knew Elle and Sutton would break our hearts and o they did so good. Elle is back from LA after her acting career didn't turn out and has enrolled at Avernia College with her brother and sister. This girl, I loved her! She’s sweet and so fun and so loving to everyone! But she also has dealt with much pain and hurt which has affected her deeply. Bring in a chance meeting with Professor Sutton, only they don't know who each other is! Imagine their shock when she comes into his classroom on the first day! O Sutton, such a beautiful and damaged man. The trauma this man has been through is much. This is a beautiful story of two people finding their way to each other. Throw in some crazy secret societies, a family curse, these two are never supposed to be together. But there is such a STRONG connection and chemistry. Sav writes their slow burn and angst so ridiculous hot it burns! And did I mention this man talks to her in French?
Add in a great side cast of characters, I love to see all our old friends from Monsters and Muses as well as some new friends!
There is so much to this story and some jaw-dropping secrets revealed from the past that only show us more why these two were meant to be together. I loved this one and can't wait for book 3! I feel like there were so many clues to different couples that could be next and I am here for them all! Go read this series!!
Rate: 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 4/5🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
🎓 Dark academia 🥀 Second generation spin-off 🍏 professor x student 🏛️ Secret societies 🌗 Cursed legacies 🐍 Slow burn yearning 🍏 forbidden yearning & tension
I’m not usually someone who sticks with a series, especially one that has an overlapping story, but I really enjoyed getting back into this world. The dark academia setting along with some darker story elements made both Endless Anger and Jealous Rage nearly impossible to put down. I had expected to like this one more than the first book but think they rank pretty equal for me. I didn’t connect with the romance as much as I expected to but the broader storyline kept me hooked. I would have liked a little more conversations between them to be really convinced of their love given they had to keep everything a secret when in public and things tended to be mostly physical when they were alone.
There were a few moments where I felt a bit uncomfy but that’s in part of me not really being a reader of darker romances rather than the content of the book I think.
🤭 student and professor 🩶 dark academia 🫶🏻 strangers to lovers 🚫 secret / forbidden
A literal masterpiece. No, really. I prolonged my reading so I wouldn’t have the post book blues. Now I’m in a reading slump.
Sutton & Elle were written with such care and love for two people who are so beautifully destructive and broken. I felt the need to reach into the pages and give them both a good shake - just own your feelings! Tell the whole truth! Stop denying yourself. But with those moments we got such fleshed out characters that my skin itched from awareness of my own flaws.
The plot and storyline hooked from page one, which isn’t a shock since I am obsessed with Endless Anger. But the depth of depravity was unmatched. This one has plot twists after plot twists. Side characters you will love and loath and cry for both the same. And cameos from some of our favorite first gen loves!
I trusted no one. Everyone was a suspect. Even those closest to Elle. That’s. How. Spectacular. This book was. 10/10 would recommend.
I was very much looking forward to this story and it did not disappoint. I always love seeing Kal in the few moments we get him.
I was hoping Beckett would get a second (or third) chance, rather than dying. I also wish there was more elaboration on Suttons mother with deaths teeth. Maybe more to come in future stories on that.
Sutton was a great character and I loved the tension between him and Elle throughout the story. The epilogue was great with the grand gesture

First off, A very big special thank you to NetGalley & Sourcebooks Casablanca for allowing me to receive an eARC of Jealous Rage.
Another obvious 5/5 for Sav & her books. It truly amazes me how much I love every story, every set of characters, everything about her work. Jealous Rage was no different. Elle and Sutton are this hot forbidden fruit that just want nothing more than to be surrounded by one another even though it goes against everything they ✨should✨ want. Sutton Dupont: 😮💨😮💨😮💨 A MAN WHO YEARNS IS A MAN WHO EARNS I saw a lot of myself in Elle the same way I see myself in a lot of Sav’s second born children. My parallels to her thoughts and feelings added an extra layer to this story for me. I loved these two from the first page until the very end. PLEASE check this out if you’re a fan of any of Sav’s other works, you won’t be disappointed
This was messy, moody, and deeply uncomfortable in a way that felt very intentional and it really worked for me.
The tension is THICK, the jealousy is basically a character trait, and the power imbalance is very much the point. This is not a soft or comforting romance. It’s a why am I stressed but still turning pages?” kind of read. The slow burn is more about simmering obsession than plot momentum, and while that tested my patience at times, I was still locked in.
I didn’t love every moment, but I was intrigued the whole time. This one knows its audience and does not apologize for the discomfort which I respect.
Tropes & vibes: • Dark academia • Forbidden romance • Professor × student • Obsession & jealousy • Power imbalance • Slow burn tension
You’ll like this if: you enjoy dark romance that makes you a little uneasy, morally gray characters, and whispering “this is not okay” while continuing anyway.
Not a comfort read. Not a fave of all time. But a solid, moody dark romance that kept me engaged and mildly stressed and sometimes that’s the vibe. 😈
Starting 2026 by letting Sav completely wreck my soul (and my sleep). I’m not just obsessed, I’m consumed. Sutton Dupont has ruined me for all other book boyfriends. My love for this man is limitless, and I’m sure it rivals even the burning, territorial fire he feels for Elle.
We all know the pull of a forbidden professor/student dynamic, but this felt different. It wasn’t just the thrill of the wrongness, it was the inevitability of them. From that electric gas station meet-cute to the suffocating tension on campus, their connection felt like a tether. Every time they were in the same room, I found myself holding my breath, waiting for the air to catch fire. It’s not just sparks with Sutton and Elle, it’s a total, beautiful devastation.
Elle is a revelation. She’s bold and talented, but it was the quiet vulnerability of her scars that truly mirrored my own heart. Watching her run from a fractured Hollywood past, I saw myself in her—the way she’d take the easy route or compromise just to avoid the collision of confrontation.
Her growth is a journey of reclamation. With Sutton’s unwavering, intensely protective love as her foundation, she stopped running and started fighting. Seeing her find her voice again was incredibly inspiring.
Sutton is so much more than just a hot professor. He is a man carrying a weight that broke my heart into a million pieces. The most moving part of this story wasn’t just the heat (though it was delicious), it was the moment this brilliant, witty, guarded man finally realised he was worthy of the love he’d spent a decade denying himself. He doesn’t just want Elle, he worships her. He sees her soul, and in return, she saved his.
Even amidst the heavy romance, the gritty, twisted plot of Avernia College’s deadly organisations kept me on the absolute edge of my seat. The mystery is layered and dark, and the side characters, especially Quincy has left me desperate for answers. She is a total enigma and I am already counting down the seconds until I can dive back into this world.

📖 “As if I wouldn’t break open my own chest and tear out my heart to serve to her on a platter. It belongs to her completely anyway.”
Professor Sutton Dupont and Elle Anderson. Two founding families, much different upbringing. Kal will always be the “superior everything,” including being a father... of our three siblings walking around Avernia College like there isn’t a curse set to unlive them. I’m not sure I would be that calm about it 🫣
If you saw me go on and on about the first book, you already know how OBSESSED I am with this series. Well, I have news for you guys: prepare to be so sick of me and my even bigger attachment to and devotion for Monsters Within. Sutton and Elle were everything I knew they would be while reading book 1. And by that I really do mean E.V.E.R.Y.T.H.I.N.G.
Their chemistry, their past traumas, their connection, their shared interests, their refusal, their acceptance, their heart... it was a pulsing thing that I could feel beating on this side of reality.
They dared to love despite everything. Their love truly felt the most honest act of rebellion. Against what? Familiar expectations, sinister characters who thought they could bend them, the unfairness of life. They dared and they lived and they crawled out of their painful secrets that kept trying to pull them under.
Asher and Lucy were there. And they remain utterly perfect. Kal too. Kal always. And so many more characters that made this full cast so special. If this was a play, I would be standing up and clapping until the curtain closed and all the lights were on.
To have this as my first read of 2026... dear new year, expectations are crazy high!
We're starting off 2026 with a bang. Second book syndrome who? Because THIS WAS FANTASTIC!!
Elle and Sutton come in as mostly established characters (gotta have some trauma to flesh out) as they show you who they are from the start. Two extroverts who happen to carry some emotional baggage. I adored watching them peel back their layers bit by bit to the other while still trying to fully establish their relationship. And what draws them together. Fate? Destiny? A prophecy for told in the stars? (I'm being funny. Laugh.) No matter. Death['s Teeth] couldn't keep them apart if they tried. (and let me tell you😐😮💨)
I love Elle and how she wears her heart on her sleeve. She truly is her mother's child and it probably makes her my favorite Anderson child, so far. I adore Sutton's dedication to family and watching him slowly shift priorities towards what he and Elle make with each other. And yes, the spice was absolutely there🫦 I was down bad for Prof × Student but throwing theater folks into that personality mix? freaksss.
Learning about how much is truly unknown in Fury Hill from founding members and those directly involved in campus events it's wildly astromocal. My head is whipping around just as much as students and faculty. I don't think I want our time here in Fury Hill to end... but at the same time LET THESE PEOPE REST🗣🗣
I am in constant awe of SRM and her writing. How it evolves more and more as publication dates come and go. I cannot wait to see how this series wraps up in October with Vengeful Destruction and what the oldest Anderson child is keeping under wraps😈
The biggest thank you to Sourcebooks Casablanca for this ARC (one of my most anticipated 2026 releases) in exchange for an honest review. And equally as much to NetGalley.

Jealous Rage is a dark dark academia romance with a secret human sacrificing society, a lot of secrets and mysteries, a centuries long prophecy and a forbidden romance. Let's just say if Endless Anger was dark Jealous Rage is even darker . Especially when Noelle understands the depths of power the society has and the extend of manipulation that rules Avernia and Furry Hills. So far Noelle is my favorite because she refuses to bow down and just obey. She fights and questions, talks back and don't accept the nonsense the school uses to cover up the society works . Sutton I was curious about. Why he stayed and what motivated him . And he's such a multilayered character and Noelle was perfect for him . I loved their awkward meet cute and all the unfinished things between them . A relationship between them is so forbidden on so many levels that it's not even funny. Add to the mix all the events from Endless Anger and Noelle is more than curious about what's really happening. Oh and her memories from her first visit are haunting and not pleasant at all . Both Sutton and Noelle are perfectly imperfect, broken and scarred from their past. And that slow burn and the mutual pinning, oh my , and the jealousy that eats them alive . Chef's kiss. In the grand scheme of this book don't trust anyone, suspect everyone. Because there's a plot twist after plot twist and you can't be sure in anything and anyone. And that's the way Sutton and Noelle's story will pull you in till the very last page. So if you love dark academia romance Jealous Rage is just for you and it'll tick all your boxes and keep you wanting more . Let's hope Sav R Miller doesn't keep us waiting long for the next Anderson sibling at Avernia. After all there's a prophecy to fulfil.
Thanks to the author for the opportunity to read and review an early copy of this book.
I loved Jealous Rage so much! This book is dark academia at its finest! There are spicy societies, dark rituals, family curses, forbidden relationships, and sooo much yearning and suspense! I have no idea what this author puts in these books, but I am addicted!
Noelle (Elle) Andersen (daughter of Dr Kal and Elena from Promises and Pomegranates) joins her siblings at Avernia College after some struggles in Hollywood where she was an actress. The night before classes begin, she meets a guy at a bar named Sutton. They have a fun night together before realizing that Sutton is actually Elle’s theater professor.
In addition to their inappropriate professor/student relationship, there are so many reasons these two shouldn’t be together. Sutton is a Dupont, which means his family has been behind the attacks on Elle’s family and the overall belief of the Andersen curse around campus. His family is actively working to take down hers.
I couldn’t get enough of the push and pull between Elle and Sutton. They just set each other off. Elle literally reduced Sutton to a puddle, and I love the way she instigated and teased him. They were sooo hot together!
In addition to the romance, there were some really intriguing and mysterious story lines involving the campus lore and history. We are introduced to an organization called Death’s Teeth, which is a secret society that participates in spicy and sacrificial rituals. I know these subplots will carry across the rest of the series and I can’t wait to learn more about what is actually going on at Avernia.
Jealous Rage is the second book in the second generation Monsters Within series. I am so excited to see who will be next! While you don’t need to read Endless Anger to enjoy this book, I definitely recommend it for the overarching plotlines and more time spent with the Andersen family.
A massive heartfelt thank you to the author for an ARC of this work!
Now if there’s one thing about me, it’s that I’m a Sav R. Miller Stan. I am a ride or die for Ms. Sav because I love the world she has built, and the characters she’s created have embedded themselves in my heart.
Jealous Rage is just as fantastic as everything else she’s put out. I loved the character development of Elle and Sutton, and the plot had me riveted. The YEARNING?? 👏🏻
Elle’s endometriosis and Sutton’s migraine representations were a highlight for me. I also generally am super uncomfortable with the professor x student trope BUT Elle and Sutton are only two years apart and Avernia is such a mess that the power dynamic didn’t put me off. I think this is the least creepy way I’ve ever seen the professor/student relationship depicted, and I appreciated it!
I was actually moved to tears a few times as, although I’m an eldest child, I really identified with the struggles Elle experienced about simply feeling seen. At one point, she says, “all my life, I've worn my heart on my sleeve. Once upon a time, I thought it was safe there so long as I played whatever role people wanted me to-any role I could get my hands on. But sometimes you can do everything right, play every part, and still wind up used and discarded.” And that HIT. I felt her sadness, her resiliency, her desire to make the right choices even when it was hard. Add on Sutton’s brilliance, humor, and constant attempts to work through his traumatic SA and I’m so happy that both got the ending they deserved.
Sav, I’ll be chomping at the bit for the next installment of Monsters Within! I’m excited to formally meet Eden, and I think Quincy has so much growth coming her way.
review: I am no stranger when it comes to Sav R. Miller. As a personal fan of the Monster & Muses series, so of COURSE I had to read about the next generation! Plus, the fact that I got to ARC read book 2 in the series was so honoring, I about had a heart attack when I got that email.
Back to the book now… This books follows: FMC Noelle “Elle” Anderson (son of Kal & Elena Anderson) and MMC Sutton Dupont. Sutton exists in a dangerous seesaw of fascination and obsession. Morally gray and emotionally volatile, he is driven by a fixation that in turn stains every choice he makes. Elle always fails to go unnoticed even without trying, but not to mention the gravity of her character raw and intense. The plot was (in my opinion) mind blowing.. I thought I knew and figured out what was going on and was even betting with myself on who certain hidden characters were, but boy was I wrong! Their chemistry is so powerful and addicting, it’s full of forbidden attraction, heavy tension and a desire that borders on sweet and messy destruction. Not to mention the taboo factor of Professor x Student. 🥵
Sav, I ate this book UP and truly cannot wait for book 3. Your writing is nothing short of beautiful. The range and emotion you give your characters is breathtaking because it always makes me want the next sentence, paragraph, chapter, and even book! Like I said in the beginning, it was an honor to be an ARC reader and I hope to continue to be one of yours for future projects & books. - Releases January 6th, 2026* Thank you to @srmauthor and @bookfunnel for sending me an ARC to review!
The love I have for this series is really unmatched. I really felt such a multitude of feelings/emotions while reading this book; happy, giddy, nervous, scared, stressed, and of course swooning so hard. Elle and Sutton were so magnetic. Their chemistry was so electric I could feel the heat coming off the page. Some of my favorite banter between characters—so good!
Jealous Rage is book two in the Monsters Within Series which is second gen to the Monsters and Muses. While reading the first gen series is not mandatory—reading Endless Anger (book 1 in this series) is needed! The subplot of this series is insane and you will be very lost if you don’t read Asher and Lucy’s story, trust me 🙂↕️
Elle, the middle Anderson child is starting her life over after things don’t go her way in LA. She decides to head to the college her siblings are at but it is one where Anderson’s are not welcome. Then we have Sutton, one of our found family members who is a professor and soon to be Elle’s newest teacher—but of course they don’t know that after not one but two chance encounters. Where they of course enjoy each others company at lot 🤭
Now these two have to fight their attraction and chemistry from each other as it is forbidden professors and students are not to be together. But there is the long mystery of the secret society that has unfinished business with both of them. In true Sav fashion I am stressed to the very end. I couldn’t turn the page fast enough to know how things ended for everyone.
But one thing I know I can always count on is a Kal Anderson cameo—and that always makes me happy 🙂↔️
Can’t wait for Quincy’s story next!! 🫶🏻✨
thank you to Sav’s team for the ARC in exchange of my honest review! 💚
