Good girls and rockstars don't mix…or do they?

My life is a checklist of Graduate with honors. Move home. Take my place in the family business.

Following that path has been easy—until him.

Catching the eye of Loose Threads’ broody lead guitarist wasn’t part of the plan. With tattoos, a devious smirk, and a lip piercing, everything about Penn Hayze screams bad boy.

He’s so not my type.

I spend my days studying and crocheting. I already know how he spends his nights. He’s everything I’ve been taught to avoid. I should stay away.

But one simple wink and my knees go weak.

Before I know it I’m breaking rules I’ve followed my entire life and never felt more free.

He was supposed to be a temporary distraction.

But every touch pulls me in deeper.

Every kiss has me desperate for more.

And every moment with him dares me to do something I’ve never done—choose myself.

The problem? My mother. She has plans for me and none of them involve falling for a rockstar.

And like the good girl I am, I always do as I’m told. Right?

This book was such an incredible read! If Avril Lavigne’s “Sk8ter Boi” was a book, that book would be Drawn to You, that skater boy would be Penn and that girl would be Olivia (without all the regret and with the added bonus of a kickass bestie and a sweet girl personality). I feel so lucky to have received an ARC for this story!

Plot: Penn is the lead guitarist for a band called Loose Threads. He’s broody, covered in tattoos and has an enticing lip ring. Olivia is the opposite. She comes with a silver spoon and a completed good girl checklist - an impressive GPA from an Ivy League school, a three month waiting period on relationship intimacy, and a life plan to do as her parent’s wish and run her family’s country clubs upon her graduation. Penn has somewhat of a tortured past, and is still trying to navigate living through the pain of his circumstances. Olivia is realizing that what she wants for herself from life, may not be what her parents wish for her. When Penn and Olivia meet, opposites attract and magic happens.

Thoughts: Honestly, I couldn’t put this book down! The chemistry between these two was addicting right from the start, and I absolutely loved the initial slow burn. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for that slow burn to catch fire, and it was well worth the wait! I also never thought I’d love the nickname Barbie so much 💕

Characters: They were all so loveable! The character growth we saw from both Penn and Olivia gave such added depth to the story. Watching Olivia find her own path in life and learn to stand up for herself, all while Penn supports her whole heartedly from the side lines was so heartwarming. The small ways he validated her (like simply being interested in her hobbies) was so sweet. The side characters were fantastic too. I love when MFC get a kickass bestie, and Ellie did not disappoint! If love a rockstar+good girl romance, do yourself a favour and read Drawn to You!

The way I DEVOURED this book… It is the definition of “if he wanted to he would”! I couldn’t put the book down. I was avoiding my husband just to finish it! I loved Olivia and Penn’s story so much, I was sad it was done but maybe cameos???
Thank you for letting me arc review this beautiful story of yours Kassie! I loved every minute of it. 💖

This was an ARC for me and it did not disappoint. One of my favorite rockstar romances I have read. This book had me hooked from the beginning.

Loved seeing the developing relationship between Penn and Olivia. She comes from money where he’s in a band. He would do anything for her which is something she is not used to. So many swoon moments in this book.

Love seeing the relationship with the side characters in this book. Definitely hope that there will be a book between Ellie and Travis.

I loved this story! The good girl and the bad boy rockstar theme was done really well. Olivia and Penn's relationship developed naturally and you could feel the chemistry straight from the page...swoon. The push against family expectations and the heart created a lot of angst and like every couple, miscommunication. The behind-the-scenes with the band was a great backdrop and including song lyrics made it all the better! I would listen to Loose Threads in a heartbeat! Definitely recommend this book for those who enjoy yearning, spicy romances.

Thanks to the author for the early copy. All opinions are my own.

Olivia has her life all mapped out—or rather, her parents have done the mapping. Fresh out of college, she’s expected to slip neatly into the family business and the world that comes with it. But one night out with her best friend changes everything. She wasn’t planning on falling for a guitarist with calloused hands and big dreams, but Penn—the brooding heart and soul of Loose Threads—has a way of undoing plans.

They couldn’t come from more different worlds, yet Olivia and Penn just fit. Each is carrying their own baggage, but together they find the kind of messy, honest connection that feels like coming home.

It’s tender, it’s raw, it’s full of beautifully vulnerable moments—and it’s an absolute delight to read.

Did I devour this book in two days?? YES! Am I buying this book when its officially released? ABSOUTELY! Is this gonna be one of my favorite series??? Looks like it!

This book was exactly what I need to kick me out of my small book slump I was heading into. It has does have content warnings like parental death and drug use. There is also slight violence and dubious consent so as also check your trigger warnings and keep your own mental health in mind.

I did received this book as an ARC Reader and I loved it!!! Olivia is a sweet, shy rich good girl who falls for the bad boy. But is he really bad? Penn is the lead guitarist of a band that is trying to make it. He falls first and he falls hard! It is a slow burn but I was captivated for every minute! I can't wait to see what else this author has to give us because I am hooked!

I cried, I laughed, I’m obsessed😭

Penn is the lead guitarist for a band called Loose Threads. He's broody, covered in tatoos and a sexy ass lipring. Olivia is the opposite. Shes a goodgirl, an amzing GPA and on her way to an Ivy League school. and has a 3 month intmacy rule when it comes to relationships. Olivia is set up to run her paretns country clubs when she graduates. Shes set up for life. Untill she meets Penn and her lifes goals suddenly change. Olivia slowly realizes what she wants in life is nothing like the life her paretns have set up for her. They truly mean opposites attract.

The charchters are so lovable, and funny. The growth we see between Olivia & Penn thoughout the book is amazing. You get to watch her find out who she is and become the best version of herself.

Penn is in my top 5 book boyfriends because of the little things he does for Olivia. And with every badd ass MFC we have to have her equally badd ass best friend who is Ellie. Youll fall in love instantly with these charchters And the plot is just UGH I loved every damn second of this book.

"If there's something you want, something I can give you, all you have to do is ask. You can have it." – Penn
“He found pieces of me I didn’t know I was hiding. He encouraged me to find my voice. A voice, one I didn’t even realise was missing” – Olivia

Olivia is someone who follows the rules, and her parents have planned out her life since she was born. Her path is to graduate from an Ivy League school and work at her parents’ country club, but she’s realising that what she wants in life is a little different. Penn is the complete opposite, a guitarist in a rock band. He’s the typical rockstar type with tattoos, a lip piercing, and a devilish smirk. When they meet at one of his shows, opposites attract, and the chemistry is instant.
The way Penn gave her a safe space to find and choose herself was amazing. He was patient and consistently communicated. I liked that even though he was dealing with his problems, he didn’t let them affect his relationship with his band members. Also, for a twenty-four-year-old, his maturity really surprised me, and it was great to read his POV chapters.
Seeing Olivia find herself was beautiful, and it really added some depth to the story. We really get to see her actual personality as she comes out of her shell and goes for what she wants.
I really enjoyed this story; it had all the spice, the emotional moments, and the banter!

Drawn to You
An Unexpected Collision of Broken Pieces That Fit Perfectly Together

Drawn to you is a deeply moving and emotionally charged novel that explores the healing power of love between two souls. From the first page, readers are drawn into the very different personalities of Penn and Olivia. One a bad boy musician and the other a prissy, silver spoon fed college student.
But when their paths cross in a way neither saw coming, something extraordinary happens: love sparks, not in the neat, fairytale kind of way, but with raw intensity, vulnerability, and undeniable electricity.

Character Dynamics and Emotional Depth
Penn is the kind of character who wears his pain just beneath the surface. He’s tough, reserved, and often overlooked. His story unfolds slowly, but with deliberate emotional depth. He’s carrying wounds that have never fully healed. Yet when Olivia enters his life, everything begins to shift.
Olivia, too, has her own battles-one she tries to separate herself from. She’s fiercely independent but emotionally cautious. Meeting Penn challenges everything she thought she knew about love, family, and her own self worth.
Together, they are explosive. Their chemistry is immediate but not superficial—it’s the kind that feels inevitable, like two lost pieces finally snapping into place. The author, Kassie Mak, masterfully balances passion with tenderness, creating a slow-burn romance that feels authentic, messy, and utterly worth rooting for. The tension is electric, and once it ignites, it never lets up.

Themes of Love, Healing, and Redemption
At its core, Drawn to You is about finding yourself and growth—not just in love, but in life. It’s about learning to have the courage it takes to let someone see you for who you really are.
The love story is powerful because it isn’t perfect. There are setbacks, heartache, and moments of self-sabotage. But through it all, Penn and Olivia keep finding their way back to each other. Their love is a kind of defiance—a refusal to be defined by others and their opinions. And that’s what makes their journey so satisfying to witness.

Writing Style and Structure
The writing is lyrical without being overly sentimental. The author knows when to linger on a moment and when to pull back, allowing emotions to simmer just beneath the surface. The dual perspective format—shifting between Penn and Olivia—gives readers intimate access to their internal struggles and desires. It creates a layered portrait of two people learning to love not just each other, but themselves.
The pacing is thoughtful, with emotional arcs that build naturally. There are no unnecessary detours or fluff—every chapter feels like it is necessary and matters. Every conversation, every silence, and every glance between Penn and Olivia is charged with meaning.

Final Thoughts
Drawn to You is more than a love story—it’s a testament to the resilience of the human spirit. It reminds us that even the messed up people among us are capable of extraordinary love. The connection between Penn and Olivia is electric, but it’s the emotional journey—full of forgiveness, risk, and growth—that lingers long after the final page.
This is a book you’ll want to savor, revisit, and recommend to anyone who believes that love can be both a sanctuary and a revolution. It’s honest, passionate, and profoundly affecting. A modern romance classic in the making.
Five stars have never been easier for me to grant to a story!

Rockstar romance, this novel will hit you in the feels. There is tension, lots of dirty spice, and a great love story.

I absolutely related to the FMC, Olivia. It's been a while since I have found a character that I related to so much, and her story really reminded me of my own path through adulthood. The way that she has to find herself, away from the expectations that are put on her, was an amazing part of the novel. She is absolutely hilarious when she comes out of her shell, and I loved learning more about her personality as the story unfolded.

Penn, good lord, is he the absolute definition of cinnamon roll wrapped in a hard outer shell. He loves and protects his family, found or blood, so deeply, and shows his love so proudly, I love men who dont shy away from expressing their feelings. He is also so gentle with Olivia, he can see that she has a lot to overcome and really sets the gold standard of communication and treating your significant other with respect they deserve. I was really taken aback with how mature he was. He still had his own journey in this story, but he really was so emotionally mature in his decisions and how he acted that I found so refreshing to read.

I really enjoyed this novel. The theme of adulthood and finding yourself is always one of my favorites to read, and this one hit the spot. I definitely can't wait to read any more installments because this group is quite a fun read. I was lucky enough to receive an arc of this amazing novel and am leaving a review of my own thoughts and feelings.

My Review:

Drawn to you wrecked me in the BEST way possible. It’s emotional, it’s beautifully messy, and it’s that kind of slow-burn romance that pulls at every single heartstring. The angst?? Painful. The chemistry?? Off the charts. Kassi Mak knows exactly how to break you and then stitch you back together. I ate this book up and couldn't put it down! If you need a romance that hurts so good → read this. 🖤

Penn and Olivia's story is everything! Penn is the lead guitarist for Loose Threads and he's definitely not your typical rocker! He's really a sweet, loving, super supportive and attractive 😏 guy but to the world he puts on facade.

Olivia, Barbie to Penn 🤭 I really loved her growth throughout the book and how Penn helped her. She set her boundaries and they were totally respected but the spice build up was on point!

Thank you Kassi for having me as an ARC for this Drawn to You 🫶🖤 Happy release day!!

I saw a random note by this author on Threads about how she was proud of her debut novel and it was such a sweet little sentiment that I immediately downloaded it to give it a try. Of course, I went in blind, so I was pleasantly surprised to read this story about a good girl and her musician boyfriend finding love.

Olivia is in college and lives a pretty straight life.  She's got everything laid out, her future well planned, so becoming smitten with this guy in a local small band isn't on her radar. Their romance was fun to read and everything I love about these "good girl doing what she's not supposed to do" types of romances.

Penn, for his part, is very much NOT a bad boy, but he does tempt her in ways she's not ready for. I love how he takes care of her, knowing she needs guidance and a delicate hand as she explores this little wild streak she's going through.

If you want a fun romance about exploring love and creating your own destiny, you should pick up this book!

Okay no because when I tell you I physically couldn’t put this book down, like it was 2 am and I made it to 60% in one setting good. And this is a debut book!!

Yes surprise surprise, I’m still in my rockstar romance era and I fear I’m never leaving lmaoooo.

Okay first, Olivia was such a sweet fmc and I lived for the whole breaking out of the “good girl” persona she’s always been.

And don’t even get me started on Penn Hayze. Listennnn, that man F*CKSSSS!!! The mouth on this man…. The YEARNING of this man!!!! That slutty little lip ring was doing something to me you guys. I fear I have yet another rocker mmc that I’ve fallen for. Just another add to the groupies list.

Okay, wow…I’m obsessed with this book! I absolutely love supporting indie authors, and Kassie Mak totally nailed it with this debut novel. The chemistry between Penn and Barbie, aka, Olivia had me hooked from the the very first page! I seriously couldn’t get enough of them 🥹❤️. The slow burn was reallllll, but worth the wait! And honestly, I’m over here already wishing some of the side characters get their own books because they were just that good.

Huge thank you to Kassie Mak and Happily Booked PR for the e-ARC 🫶 I’m so glad I got the chance to read this early.

I finished this one and wanted to start over again. There wasn’t a part of this story that I didn’t love. We have Penn that is what most would call a tortured soul. The way he cares about everything and everyone in his life makes him such the perfect book boyfriend. Being in a band with the bad boy vibes and the tats and the lip piercing. He is everything that Olivia shouldn’t want but has to have. Their meet cute isn’t want everyone would that is a meet cute but is perfect for them and for all of us. The way he cares for her, helps her come out of her shell and become her own person, we all need that type of a hype person.

I was given an ARC of this book and as always thankful for the opportunity.

This is the authors debut book and I want to start out by saying I did enjoy her writing style. She did a great job creating a complicated, charming, unique cast of characters & weaving their lives together.

Personally, the spice level (🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️) & the amount of curse words overshadowed the story for me.

I don’t mind a little spice and/or a curse word here or there but for me this went beyond that.

Besides that, I did like the MFC, Olivia, who is trying to find her way & discover her passions outside of her parents plans for her life.

Penn, the MMC, is straightforward yet complicated all at the same time while he is still grappling with the death of his father, the estranged relationship with his sister, and trying to get his band off the ground.

If you like lots of spice then you will definitely love this book.

This was such a fun and sweet rockstar romance. Kassie did an incredible job especially given this was her debut novel. Her writing flowed super well, and I will absolutely be reading more books by her especially in the Loose Threads series.

Loose Threads is the perfect example of bad boy x good girl. Penn, the MMC, is the lead guitarist in a band called Loose Threads and has never been in a serious relationship. He has dark hair, a lip piercing and is tatted up. I mean what more could you ask for? Oh, and he has a very witty mouth with quite the troubling past stemming from a loss he experienced years ago. Olivia, the FMC, is the polar opposite. Blonde, girly in her skirts and pink heels, and goes to Brown with rich parents who take care of her financially.

The story starts off immediately with Penn and Olivia meeting in a very unusual situation that had my interest peeked. It is safe to say there was an immediate fascination between the two and they just so happen to continue to cross paths. What starts off as a no label situationship turns into something so much deeper.

Penn really stole the show for me in this book. I absolutely love how he navigated their relationship and for someone who presents himself as this broody tatted bad boy he is actually super sweet and respectful when he cares about someone, and I just love how he moved their relationship at Olivia's pace. He is honestly the perfect mix of gentleman in public but a whole other vibe in private if you know what I mean. He was so caring about Olivia's interests, and you could just tell her genuinely cared for her and was willing to put her needs first even if that risked him losing her. He is also such a protector, and I find that so attractive. Especially in the way he took care of Olivia and his sister Pacey.

I enjoyed how the plot progressed as well as their relationship. There is definitely some miscommunication, and they do face obstacles, but it kept me invested and rooting for them to work it out. I loved the side characters, especially Ellie, Olivia's best friend. She is such a good bestie, and I can't wait for her book with you know who (you'll have read this to find out). I also really liked Pacey. I need more of her story!

Thank you so much Kassie for the gifted book and PR package. I can't wait to read more of your work.

5 stars for Penn Hayze and his Barbie, Olivia Whittington!!!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What a phenomenonal debut novel!!! I am so in love with Penn and Olivia. I love a good rockstar romance and this book hit alll the spots!

Olivia Whittington aka Barbie is the sweetest most adorable FMC I have ever met. She is a studious good girl who always does as she's told and always aims to please. Her life has been planned out for her since day one and she has always followed the path that her parents have set out for her. That is until her bestie Ellie, drags her out one night to see her favorite band, Loose Threads, perform live.

Penn Hayze, lead guitarist of Loose Threads, is not your typical rocker. Under his grungy façade lies a supportive, lovingly sweet, hot as f*** man. Because yes, Penn Hayze is a MAN. Their meet cute was spicy and I loved how much of a voyeur Livvy was. She was just too cute.

Olivia's character growth is something I truly loved about this book. Penn helped to get her to break away from the expectations placed upon her. He helped her to find herself, all the while being the most sweetest, kindest respectful person I have ever met in a book. The way he respected Olivia's boundaries and took things at her pace? He deserves everything in the world. The touch her and die vibes were light but oh so hot. There were certain scenes that had me fangirling over Penn (and Travis 🤭).

The spice build up is so worth the wait. I loved the tension between Liv and Penn and when the fireworks set off? It's an explosion! The obsession that Olivia has with Penn's lip ring? 🙌! And each scene is better than the last. Penn is such a pleaser 😌.

I loved all the side characters! I am so curious about Liam, Tanner and Pacey!! Ugh I love Pacey and just wanna cuddle and protect her 🥹🩷. And Ellie was THE most amazingly awesome best friend that anyone could ask for. I love that girl! I cannot believe this is Kassie's debut novel. It was so well written and left me with a smile on my face. I am so happy that I discovered her and am so excited to read anything else she writes.

I cannot wait for Travis's book next!!! I am reallly hoping he's gonna be with Ellie. Especially after that scene at the end 😏!!! I am ravenous and cannot wait!!! Definitely a top read of 2025 for me!

I absolutely loved this book! Drawn to You is Cassie Mack’s debut novel, and honestly, what a way to start. It’s a rockstar romance, but not the usual “sex, drugs, and rock and roll” kind. Instead, it feels so grounded and real. The band is still in its early phase—practicing, looking for gigs, trying to make things work—and about 90% of the story stays in that world, before all the fame and drama. That perspective made the story feel fresh and authentic.

The MMC, Pen, completely stole my heart. He’s not some over-the-top, too-perfect character—he’s real, flawed, but also incredibly caring and thoughtful. He has his demons, but you can’t help but love the way he always wants to take care of Olivia with whatever means he has. Olivia, the FMC, comes from a wealthy, influential family, and at first she feels a little prim and proper. But as the story progresses, she really grows—Pen grounds her and helps her realize that what she thought she wanted in life was never actually hers. Their dynamic is messy, heartfelt, and so believable.

The other band members were such a fun addition too. Each one has their own temperament, and the banter between them gave the story so much life. It wasn’t just about the romance, but about this little found-family vibe that made me smile throughout.

And let’s talk about the slow burn! The build-up between Pen and Olivia was so worth it. Olivia has her own boundaries (her three-month rule), and I loved how respectful and patient Pen was about it. When they finally did get together, the spice was perfect—real, passionate, and true to their characters.

Overall, this was such a refreshing, heartfelt take on a rockstar romance. It didn’t lean on clichés, but instead gave us something raw, realistic, and so enjoyable to read. For a debut, this was seriously impressive.

✨ Rating: 4.5 stars
🌶️ Spice: 3.5/5

If you’re looking for a romance that’s fun, swoony, and grounded in reality, this one’s definitely worth picking up.

Two very different worlds collide — with plenty of spice — in Kassie Mak’s new romance.

In Drawn to You, the story unfolds from two perspectives: Olivia and Penn. Olivia is a sweet, rule-following girl determined to be the perfect daughter for her parents. She pushes herself to excel at everything. Penn, on the other hand, is the guitarist in a rock band, the classic rockstar type with a lip ring, tattoos, and effortless confidence. They meet at one of his band’s performances, and that’s when the slow-burn, spicy romance begins.

I really enjoyed this book. Kassie Mak’s writing style is easy to read, making the story flow naturally. You can feel the characters’ emotions as if they were your own. I connected with them even more because my boyfriend also plays in a band and writes songs. The slow-burn romance kept pulling me in until the very last page, I devoured it.

The only thing I missed was a bit more detail in certain scenes. Some moments are skipped over too quickly. I don’t mean the natural time jumps between chapters, those worked well, but occasionally events are condensed into a sentence when I would have loved to read more. For example, Olivia goes to a party, but we’re told in one line and then it’s over, or she attends a performance without us getting to experience what they played or how the band interacted with each other. I understand these aren’t the main plot points, but adding more in-between moments could have deepened the atmosphere.

If you love a slow-burning romance about two worlds that collide, this book is for you. It gave me a warm, happy feeling and put a smile on my face more than once. I truly hope there will be a sequel, I would read it in a heartbeat.

“Drawn to You is coming on August 22nd 2025!

4.5 stars!! Loved this story of the "uptight, rich, preppy girl" and the broody, tattooed musician. The first time Olivia meets Penn, she stumbles upon him with a woman in a.. compromising position. Penn is instantly transfixed by her, and invites her and her best friend backstage after the show. Her best friend, who is MUCH more laid back than Olivia, is absolutely thrilled about this, while Olivia is filled with anxiety about having to see this man again after such an awkward encounter. To be honest, he was really kind of a jerk at first -- consider her NOT impressed 😂

When her bestie starts hooking up with the singer of the band, Olivia finds herself constantly around Penn, much to his delight and her dismay. But after her bestie begs her to go on a friendly "double date", we start to see Penns gentmanly actions peek through: getting her multiple candy options when he doesn't know her preference yet, looking out for her when she's had too much to drink at the club and needs a safe way home... The real change to their relationship comes when she goes home for Christmas break, and Penn texts her. All of a sudden, they're texting more often than not, and her initial coldness towards him wanes more with every text and declaration of his pursuit.

I loved seeing Olivia's confidence grow with the help of Penns consistent praise and reassurance; he is so patient and devoted to her despite his own grief and struggles. And when she finally stands up for herself against her mother? 👩‍🍳😘 You can feel her start to relax and let loose as she finds herself, and the relief is just palpable. But will their love be enough to keep them together despite their vastly different lives?

I loved watching these two come together despite their differences and am so excited to have an advanced copy of book#2 for Travis and Ellies story! Highly recommend.

Oh my lord! These two truly had me going through a rollercoaster of emotions and it never stopped! The way Olivia and Penn truly matched each other’s energies and who they were as a person made my heart beat so fast ! I absolutely fell in love with their love story and I was always rooting for them to get together!

This is the story of Olivia, the child who was expected to take over her father’s business and follow his footsteps in their rich society. She has been the perfect daughter with the perfect manners her whole life and told to get a degree in business. One night, her best friend drags her to a concert of an underground band called The Loose Threads. Olivia stumbles upon seeing something she never thought she would see in public and runs off as soon as possible.

Penn is the writer and guitarist of the band called Loose Threads, with his friends. His first impression of Olivia had him at the edge of his seat with the way she responded to what he was doing backstage. These two eventually start to talk due to Ellie, and his bandmate/best friend Travis start to hang out. The more Penn and Olivia spend time together, the more their feelings change for one another.

This was truly a wonderful and lovely book to read! I absolutely love how detailed Kassie is with her writing! The way she can absolutely capture to detail what Penn and Olivia are equally feeling and not drag it for too long. The way those two were clearly made for one another and brought out the best of themselves. This is truly a love story between two people who are the complete opposites of each other 🙂‍↕️❤️

"WHY DIDN'T YOU DANCE WITH THAT GIRL? I THOUGHT YOU LOVED GROUPIES?"
" DON'T WANT TO DANCE WITH HER.”

“It didnt take me long to realize how much better i sleep when Olivia is next to me. How at f*cking peace I feel. And I hate being without her. I want to sink into her until we're one f*cking person because my skin doesn't feel the same unless it's touching hers.”

“You’re breaking your rules for me Barbie?”

“HE's EMBEDDED HIMSELF SO DEEPLY UNDER MY
SKIN THAT I COULDN'T ESCAPE THE FEEL OF
HIM EVEN IF I WANTED TO.”

Penn- skater boy vibe, lead guitarist, covered in tattoos, lip, ring, tortured past.
Olivia- comes with a silver spoon, good girl, Ivy League school, a three month intimacy role, parent dreams of her running their country clubs after graduation.
Olivia is finding out what she wants for herself while Penn is navigating dealing with his tortured pass. When they meet magic happens in Sparks fly. Turning there world upside down.
The characters were lovable, love, seeing Olivia, stand up for herself, and Penn ! 😍 was so supportive of Olivia taking interest in what she likes. He is just the sweetest and I’m putting him on my big boyfriend list!
“ I’m not worried. Because I know if I fall, he’ll already be on his knees, waiting to catch me.”
I can’t wait for Travis’s book next! After that last scene at the end! I hope the female FMC is Ellie!

Title: Drawn to You
Author: Kassie Mak
Hero/Heroine: Penn & Olivia
What to Expect: Opposites Attract, Good Girl x Bad Boy, Rockstar MMC, Slow Burn, Band of Brothers, He Falls First & Harder, Country Club Princess, Spicy Meet Cute,

tw/cw: death of a parent, mention of drug use, mention of domestic violence,

✨ 3rd act break up: yes
✨ heat level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
✨ star rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Good Girl x Bad Boy has to be one of the most underrated tropes in the romance genre. The contrast between the two characters is always so intriguing, and this was no exception. Throw in a touch of slow burn, and I was practically feral, waiting for Penn and Olivia to give in to the undeniable sexual tension between them.

Attending a gig on the request of her best friend, Olivia finds herself meeting the guitarist of the band in the most unexpected way. Convincing herself he’s nothing but a manwhore, she pays him no mind. Only Penn refuses to allow Olivia to ignore him. Honestly, these two had me smiling from ear to ear; their progression from reluctant friends to so much more had me wanting to kick my legs in the air like a giddy teenager.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story, with its wonderful characters and engaging storyline. Penn and Olivia were such a great couple, I was hoping they’d get their happy ending. Yes there’s a 3rd act break up (which I know some of you don’t like), however I felt that it worked with the storyline.

Thank you to the author for providing me with a copy of this to read. This is my honest review.

Insta-Lust, Slow Burn, and All the Feels:From the first page, Drawn to You screams “obsession in the making.” It’s giving tension, it’s giving secrets, and baby, it’s giving “I shouldn’t want you, but I do” energy. You’ll be hooked faster than the main character falling for those broody eyes and that magnetic charm.
We’re talking about a leading man who draws more than just music—he draws attention, danger, and a whole lot of heat. And our girl? She’s not just some damsel in distress. She’s fierce, fiery, and fabulously flawed. Together, they’re a masterpiece of toxic perfection—and you won’t look away.
Just when you think things are chillin’—boom! Kassie Mak throws in emotional whiplash, betrayal, past trauma, and that sweet sweet dose of “no one else can have you.” This isn’t a fluff piece; it’s a messy, delicious, angst-filled ride, and you’re gonna eat up every bit.
Ghost Pepper Spice
Let’s not play—this book brings the heat. It’s possessive, it’s steamy, and it knows exactly what it’s doing. If “you’re mine” doesn’t send a shiver down your spine, are you even reading it right?
If tortured hearts, sizzling tension, and emotionally messy love stories are your vibe, Drawn to You is your next obsession. Kassie Mak didn’t just write a romance—she lit a match, threw it in, and watched us burn.
So grab a drink, clutch your pearls, and dive into the drama, babe. Because once you’re in, you’re not getting out unscathed. 🎭🔥

🎸💖When two different worlds collide 🎸💖

If you loved Sk8ter Boi by Avril Lavigne when you were younger, this book gives that vibe and so much more. The chemistry between Penn and Liv is TOP NOTCH. I was smirking the entire time while reading this book. Penn is the epitome of what every woman needs in their life as their partner. He loved Liv unconditionally and went out of his way to learn her and treat her right. The perfect description for Penn is this quote from the book:

“Wow, God really went all out on him, huh? He can write music and lyrics, play the guitar, has a beautiful voice, and he can play the keyboard. Not to mention how hot he is.”

When the ending of this book came, I was legitimately disappointed. I feel like I could read Penn and Liv’s story forever, they were just so perfect for each other and Kassie wrote the story beautifully. This appears to be Kassie’s debut book and honestly, I am in shock because it's amazing. I am hoping and praying she continues this series and we get the bestie’s story next. Kassie is going big places that’s for sure and I am so excited I get to watch it from the beginning.

“She’s the fucking blood keeping the organ in my chest pumping. The oxygen that keeps me breathing. She brought the light back into my soul. When I was afraid I might never see it again, might never feel it again.”

“Because I know if I fall, he’ll already be on his knees, waiting to catch me.”

First off, the cover is beautiful and I love it. Second off, I had so much fun reading this one! I always enjoy giving a new author a try, and this one totally hit the mark for me. I thought the story was well thought out and I was entertained throughout the entire read. This one was slightly different then my normal reads persay but nonetheless it was good and I had a good time. It pulled on the heart strings and it make me smile at the banter the characters got into. I would really love to see more based on some of the other characters throughout the book just because I feel as they deserve more to their story. If you like spice, sprinkle some tention, some drama, friendship, and over all just love from all angles then this is for you. I feel like this was a cute read and I would 100% read more. I am glad I got the opportunity to read this one, thank you Kassie for this wonderful, fun read and I can not wait to see what you bring in the future! You have found a new reader when you put out more things! But please please please give me more of the side characters I NEED THEM!!!!!
keep an eye out for this one you don’t want to miss the dynamic between these two, opposites for sure attract in the best way possible😉🥰
