When tragedy befalls Luke Fraser, he thinks this time he has lost everything, forcing him to ally with some new, interesting friends. Broken and lost, Luke needs to heal old wounds with his father, and become the head of the family before everything he loves crumbles around him.
Victoria lives in the UK, in rural Essex, with her husband, two daughters, and one very mischievous Bengal called Bella. She is the author of the YA book series Wild Spirit and writes mystery, fantasy, and gothic books for adults and teens. When she isn't writing and making up tales to scare her kids, you'll find her walking, reading, re-watching Buffy the Vampire slayer and running her children around like a taxi service.
Thank you so much Victoria for the ARC. This comes out 4th November!
Wild Spirit is one of my all time favourite fantasy books! I LOVE this world. What a way to make me feel like a teenager obsessed again! Victoria finished the series but she's got a short story collection based on it, a whole other standalone book but set in the same universe and now a side novella. Set after the events of the main series, and in Luke's perspective.
I didn't know what to expect so I just jumped in and was happy to be along for the ride but my god! Victoria!!! Break my heart why don't you?! When Luke receives THAT news... I had to read the page twice. Did I read it correctly?! Did that really happen? And no, no, no... Can we take that back? I couldn't stop thinking about it!
But what comes is a beautiful story of love, loss, forgiveness and acceptance. All that riddled with the love of biological family and found family. And of course, the mystery! The secrets of the town! All that wonderful history that Victoria has bought to life! This is such escapism! And while this one was particularly heartbreaking, it was also wonderful. A satisfying ending, another trip with these characters and simply a great experience in this world again.
Victoria could keep writing this world forever with all the history and characters she's created.
Friends, read the Wild Spirit series! You won't regret it. Perfect for fantasy lovers, or people just getting into the genre!
OMG!! Absolute whirl wind of emotions reading this book!! I never want the wild spirit series to ever end!! Victoria is ever so talented and ever since I finished the very first book in the series she easily became one of my upmost favourite authors ♥️
Absolutely blown away by this book. I keep saying it, but Victoria Wren's books get better and better. I've been an avid fan of the Wild Spirit series since it began, and this latest installment is sheer brilliance.
Minor spoiler here, but for me, this was the most heart wrenching book in the series. That's as far as I'll go with spoilers, because you simply have to experience this for yourself.
Fans of the series will be rewarded with a whole raft of cameos (and some that exist in other books entirely by the author) which put a big smile on my face. However, nothing feels forced or done for "fan service" purposes. Every chapter pulls you deeper into the universe that Wren has created and you won't ever want to leave. I'm already impatiently waiting for the next book, as this was simply incredible. You'll be left wanting more, and that's a good thing.
