I really wish Goodreads would implement the half star feature because this was definitely a 4.5 ⭐️ read for me! I literally have no words to describe the hole I have left in my heart right now knowing we have to wait until January for book #2! Holy cow, this book…….. Swag was the MMC I never knew I needed, I literally could not get enough of him! The age gap romance is definitely my favorite trope, and Sarah Bale is one of my new favorite authors because of that! Then there’s Jo-Leigh, she reminds me a lot of myself! She doesn’t back down and isn’t afraid to ask questions and challenge Swag. The spicy scenes in this book were top notch!! There were a few times toward the end where I felt like Swag repeated things a little too much but other than that I thought this book was absolutely AMAZING! I love Swag’s protective demeanor and how he will go to the ends of the earth to protect the people he loves! January 2026 needs to hurry the heck up, I will saving a spot on my TBR above any other new release that month because I have got to know what happens!

I have loved every book that I've read by Sarah Bale. This book was no different. She always gives me a captivating plot and characters that I love.
Jo-Leigh and Swag had a connection even in the beginning. It may have started out as platonic, but things slowly changed.

This book was filled with so many different emotions, secrets, action, suspense, betrayal, and lots of spice. Jo-Leigh and Swag were fire together. His possessiveness of her was so hot.

That ending though... what the heck is going on?!! I was not ok! I'm hoping we get book 2 very soon!!

Swag is very obsessed with Jo-leigh and will do anything for her. She accepts his help but soon learns that help comes with terms and conditions, which Swag intends to collect.

This book had a few twists and turns. I had to feel sorry for Jo-leigh because she didn't know what she was signing up for. Down on her luck she needed the help.

Swag was protective but also possessive. He wanted what he wanted. Jo-leigh was rather naive.

Very well done a great story, i enjoyed it.

Sarah Bale delivers pure chaos and heat in this MC romance. I was hooked, stressed, and swooning the whole way through. Jo-Leigh will break your heart, Swag will make you love and hate him in equal measure, and that ending? I need book two now. Perfect for fans of age gap, spice, and nonstop tension.

Oh my goodness Sarah out did herself!! I absolutely loved this book and can’t wait for the next one in the series!! Jo-Leigh and Swag are a great pair. It was so nice to see some previous characters (always loved Jafar and Ellie). The chemistry that Jo-Leigh and Swag have is so hot!! The romance , hot steamy scenes and the mystery are to die for!!. This MC is a must read!!

An excellent beginning to a new series, I absolutely loved Swag and Jo-Leigh’s story ❤️❤️❤️ he’s a hard man but she loves him, he loves her but can’t admit it. You’re in for some shocks and surprises. A definite page turner and very entertaining. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 😎🖤

OMG Sarah Bale is giving us a new series that is just amazing!!! When Jo-Leigh was down on her luck and Swag step it in to help. Four years later she is back and Swag is ready to claim her while a someone is wanting to destroy Swag by going after Jo-Leigh. This book had some very spicy scenes and the cliffhanger omg I can't wait for book two.

I am unsure how I felt about this one. More so, how I felt about Swag. I wanted to love him for the savior he was to Jo-Leigh 4 years ago. And I know life can harden people over 4 years. But I didn’t like his possessiveness like I usually do in books. There is usually some emotion behind it. And with Swag, I never felt it. And I just hope his revelation about his feelings for Jo-Leigh isn’t one of those “little too late” moments.

The story was so great and so well written it kept me glued to the pages. And romance/spicy scenes were abundant, so definitely a must read if you like that sort of thing 😉 So, besides my personal feelings on Swag, Bale did an amazing job with this story. But be prepared, it absolutely ends in a cliffhanger. I just pray we don’t have to wait long for the next one. Because I won’t be able to stand it!! 4 Stars.

DNF @44%. Nothing over the top, just an inconsistency to the characters that made the story hard to believe or care about. Lots of unrealistic plot points as well.
