Comments From Other Readers “Being new to crocheting, I was looking for something that would be easy to follow and keep up with. I’ve been learning how to crochet with my daughter and I thought this was the perfect book! We were both able to follow along with the patterns and made some cute scarfs and matching mittens. We each picked our own colors but it was great getting to work on the project together!” - Tobi (Manitoba, Canada)
“There’s so much that can be done with these books! I’m not a novice, I’ve been working with yarn for years and I even spin my own, but it’s nice to get back to the basics sometimes to keep my skills sharp. That’s why I love books like this that help me to keep steady with my skills. The instructions were clear and the patterns came out wonderful. This is a great book for beginners or even more advanced crafters!” - Erika (Los Angeles, US)

My crochet skills are very limited. The projects in this do look interesting and varied; however, the instructions provided on the various stitches don't illustrated how to do the stitches as many other books do.
The patterns in this book are outdated. Also, for many of the patterns, it will state how many "balls" of yarn a pattern requires. However, I did not see anywhere where it discussed yarn weight (DK, Worsted, Bulky, etc...) or yardage (how big or small are these balls of yarn???). I found this book disappointing and would not recommend it to other crocheters.
Although the book is full of plenty of neat looking patterns, it is VERY POORLY WRITTEN. I took a screen shot of the book that I will post when I get the chance that showed one of the patterns being marked "tenth round twelfth round" On top of that, they are lazy and word things very oddly. I had to re-read a few things several times to even get a small idea of what they were talking about. It would also be nice if they bolded the round numbers like a lot of patterns, just to help distinguish. I also am not sure if I trust them as one of their penis bonds did have a pattern from another pattern book by a company, and I didn't see any credit given, so I can't help but wonder if that happened here
This book was offered free from Amazon, and I am so happy that I downloaded it. I haven't yet made any projects, but I have read through the entire book, and most of the projects look like something I want to make (sometimes books are filled with projects of things that aren't practical, at least not for me). I have been crocheting a little over 2 years, and I think I can follow the instructions easily enough; the instructions are written clearly and will be easy to follow. I can't wait to start on the pretty baby blanket. I highly recommend this book. Happy crocheting!
It's an okAy book. It's really basic stuff for beginners. I was hoping there might be something new or special in here but like I said. Basics for beginners. I'm so glad I got this for free because if I paid money for it, I would have been mad. Most of this you can find a YouTube video for.
Patterns are copied directly from published patterns on the Internet. See for example: http://www.yarnspirations.com/pattern... The same picture is even used. I do not support plagiarism and the theft of intellectual property, which this appears to be. I do not recommend purchasing this title.
These projects are lovely and presented clearly. Although some of them may take longer than a day to complete, (as long as the directions are free from errors) they are straight forward and can be completed easily.
Flip through book looking for an interesting project, the one that did tempt me, was way beyond my ability and I won't be trying it in the near future. The other projects, I've already done or have no interest in.
I am going to try a few of the projects in this book. I have enjoyed looking at the directions for each one. I think the pictures are attractive and provide more inspirations.
Instructions on how to do stiches cursory. Pictures of projects tiny. No gauge or type yarn or hook given. Items boring. Seem to vary from simple to complex. No charts. I looked through the 15 projects and then just deleted the book.
I liked the variety presented. I would recommend this for anyone learning and|or anyone who doesn't have a lot of time but wants to give the precious gift of homemade.
