🌟 Read Your Triggers 🌟
I really loved how this book was split in two parts. The first starts off when they’re kids and ages as they grow up and go through their battles and man, what a whirlwind that first part was.
This was my first cowrite I’ve read by them and I signed up for it because of Jenn. I’ve read all of her books and this would be my first book by Freya and I’m definitely obsessed because the way they collaborated together, I’m not even sure who wrote what.
Bentley is definitely one of my favorite alphas I’ve read because he will protect his omega. Octavian has never had anyone really care about him so to see him letting Bentley in is so heartwarming to see because he deserves every happiness that Bentley is willing to give him.
I love it when an omega goes through so much and the alpha will stop at nothing to make sure his safety comes first. When Bentley saves him during a certain situation, I was so here for it.
I also loved how Bentley also showed him that being his omega is worth it and loving being an omega is truly okay.
Also, I loved the piglet and the puppy that were just so adorable. I laughed when Bentley met Floyd the first time haha. And Miss Bella is just too cute.
I really loved how Octavian voiced his opinion about getting animals but not wanting to pick up any animal manure lol.

Abused Omega finds his overprotective Alpha
Oh my heart. Tav's childhood was absolutely terrible. I wanted to cry for that sweet Omega. He fought so hard to survive and to make a life for himself. However, it definitely has him hating his designation. Tav definitely has his issues and that includes some OCD tendencies and some not so great coping mechanisms. He needed to be loved, adored, and cared for even if he didn't want it.
Bentley is an amazing Alpha. He will do anything for those whom he loves. He had a fantastic family even if there were struggles. Once he found his scent match he wasn't going to let anything keep him from him.
I absolutely adored the grumpy Omega who never knew love being paired with the overprotective Alpha.
If you want some adorable animal companions this book has two of them. Floyd is a very special puppy while Bella is the sweetest piglet.

I really liked the two MMCs in this and loved them together as a couple.
Both these characters have heartbreaking backstories. Octavian, in particular, I wanted to sob for – that poor omega! He's had to deal with so much crap in his life, it just never seems to stop coming.
Tav needs someone to love him to show him that he's worth something after everything others have taken from him; I so wanted to tell him that someone amazing is around the corner.
Bentley only made me rate him even more by how well he looks after Tav. Bentley’s willingness to do anything to protect his family is exactly what his omega needs as it turns out, and after everything that's happened, I can't really fault the alpha for it.
And how could I not adore Floyd and Bella! Always love cute animals in books, and these two were just adorable.

Dark MM Omegaverse Romance

Great read!!! These two authors made a compelling story and I’m looking forward to more in the future. It was perfectly and beautifully unhinged in the best possible ways. It was heartbreaking, heartwarming, spicy with some funny moments. The way these authors represented the characters trauma and mental health issues was beyond my expectations and I truly felt for these men.
We get some past backstories for both MMCs then we jump to the present when they finally meet. I loved how much Bentley seemed to be completely and utterly smitten with Tav, especially his ornery personality and quirky idiosyncrasies. Bentley was a true red flag MMC but a complete green flag for Tav ❤️

This author duo is a match made in dark OV heaven. Fans of their work individually will know to take the trigger warnings very seriously. If you are new to this work, please check the list carefully because your mental health matters and there is a lot of darkness on page.
That being said…..wow! This was a spicy and slightly deranged wild ride. The authors managed to make the book feel cozy and adorable at times, and deeply dark at others.
The two MMCs were perfect compliments for each other. Bentley was every dark OV reader’s dream MC. A hulking Viking-esque farm boy who is both sweet, but capable of some messed up stuff when it comes to protecting his loved ones.
Octavian was a beautiful portrait of perfectly imperfect. He survived so much as a young kid and struggles throughout the book with such relatable feelings and coping mechanisms for so many people (again, please check the trigger warnings). He may have felt weak, but he never seemed that way to me. He was just a prickly cactus of a guy. He was all sharp spines, but ready to bloom brilliantly with the right support.
The way these two grow together is nothing short of swoon worthy. They highlight the importance of patience, understanding, and making sure people know they aren’t problems that need fixing. There was no miraculous healing of trauma after finding their scent matches. Just support and constancy. As the book says, good dick doesn’t fix trauma. I really don’t think it hurt though 😉.

Heyya, knot his beast, where do I even start? It’s an MM, it’s perfect, and you cannot convince me otherwise! Freya and Jenn are the perfect combo, they work seamlessly, literally couldn’t tell who wrote who! Keep in mind that this is on the darker side so check your triggers and take care of yourself—you matter!
Octavian is an omega whose mom did some truly awful things to him growing up. Now he’s a traumatised music store owner determined to stay single.
In comes Bentley, the alpha. Bentley lost his mom at a young age, and that completely changed his direction in life, he will stop at nothing to protect those he loves. Now he’s a music loving businessman who among other things helps his dad sell bull spunk (was that necessary to add? No. Is it a funny fact? Absolutely).
Octavian is hurting and his pain can truly be felt. His reactions and behaviours feel incredibly real and, at times, way too close to home. Same goes for Bentley, though in different ways—he’s this positive ray of jaded sunshine, desperate to have his HEA and refusing to let anyone get it the way.

I love Jenn Bullard and am newly converted to Freya's work.
The opening 7 chapters are set in the past and depict Octavian (Tav) and Bentley's lives growing up. Both have significant trauma but in different ways (one is abuse and SA and the other loses his mother in a very traumatic way)
By the time they meet Tav owns his own music shop (88 Keys) and Bentley is a freelance web designer who runs his dad's website selling frozen bull semen which is a big money raiser for them.
Tav is constantly being harassed by a pair of brother/sister alphas who won't take no for an answer. Once he meets Bentley and accepts him as his scent match their relationship grows incredibly fast.
Tav is also the owner of a narcoleptic dog and Bentley adds a baby female pig to the family.
Bentley is an unaliver of people who upset or abuse his mate and there a some good endings for certain characters as well as a surprising birthday surprise for Tav. The book ends with an epic birthday surprise for Bentley.
I could have read about these 2 characters and Bentley's family forever.
Another fantastic read from Jenn and welcome Freya. Looking forward to their next joint venture.

This is where a good part of the story begins.

This book was a beast to read. And I mean that in the absolute best way. I was so invested in this story from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down once I started. It will absolutely pull at your heartstrings but the emotional journey was worth it for the ending. My heart shattered for Tav and the horrendous childhood he had. He had to fight through so much just to survive and I wanted nothing more than to hold this sweet man, telling him it would be ok. I related to him so much. I honestly needed him to get all the love and acceptance and care he deserved. Bentley is the type of Alpha that we all want. He is fiercely protective and deeply devoted to the people he loves. Once you’re in that circle he would do anything for you. He’s precisely what Tav needed and it was so endearing to watch their interactions. Their connection and chemistry was undeniable. Bent is so patient and understanding with Tav. You can’t help but cheer for these two. And the spice was perfectly steamy and deliciously hot. It had me swooning and fanning my face. Honestly everything about this book was amazing and I loved reading it. I will definitely be reading more in this series.

The story between both of the MMC’s worked so well! I felt for Tav the entire time. He went through so much and endured so much pain. I’m glad he found Bentley and I couldn’t have been happier that Bentley stuck around and protected him.
Definitely a grumpy/sunshine trope and I love that about this book!
Sometimes OCD is a trigger response to trauma and I think it is represented well throughout. If it was portrayed perfectly then the book would be endless, but the authors did well at explaining the struggles with the mental health representation of the obsessive compulsiveness, as well as the internal struggles and voices that comes along after dealing with trauma.

This book….the trauma ok? The trauma this omega carries is brutal, heavy, and written with a rawness that genuinely brought me to my knees. Every sharp edge of his fear, anger, and survival instinct bled through the page, and I felt every second of it.
What made this story unforgettable, though, was the alpha. Watching him fight through our omegas black cat nature, guarded, rough around the edges, loving in quite devastating ways, was exactly what I needed. I was hooked from the very beginning. Octavia and Bentley both have trauma that they have to live through. Immediately Bentley knew Tav Was his from the moment he saw him. It was just a matter of time for his walls to start crumbling and letting him in. No matter what Tav has been through Bentley makes sure that he is not alone. Through his emotions and thoughts Bentley is always there to help Tav through it all. Even if it means to eliminate the threat. Tav os the grump omega while Bentley the sweetest alpha that will go above and beyond for his perfect omega. They were made for each other, two pieces to a puzzle that fit perfectly.

I’ve cried and laughed then shouted at this book it was so full of different emotions that fit together so well
Octavian has had a awful upbringing his own mother let him out so she could get her drugs alcohol and other things he run away at age 18 and has lived a nice normal lifestyle apart from to alphas that keep sniffing around him . Bentley has had an amazing upbringing on his father’s cattle ranch his mother died when he was younger. He has three sisters along with his father.They are such a close knit family.
He moves away from home to fulfill his own dreams when he meets the grumpy omega who runs the record shop and he knows his got to have him as his mate .

This is the first book in the Traumaverse series. This is also the first collab between one of my favorite authors, Jenn Bullard and Freya Ellis James. And after reading this story, she has become a new favorite of mine as well!
This was such a dark, traumatic, and disturbing read. It really had me upset and frustrated. Don’t get me wrong, I loved reading this book but it had me tearing up at times. I loved watching this story unfold. It was sad, frustrating, dark and depraved. I could not put it down because I was so drawn to this story and the MMCs.

Knot His Beast is beautifully unhinged in the best way. It’s dark, emotional, tender, and surprisingly funny at times. The trauma and mental health representation were handled with so much care that I genuinely felt for both men.

This was so sweetly unhinged! Jenn and Freya did an amazing job bringing Tav and Bentley to life. Bentley is just the sweetest golden retriever of an alpha, who just happens to like taking problems into his own hands. Tav is a black cat omega, grumpy at the world and unlikely to give anyone new a chance. This was a great representation of how trauma can affect every person differently and has wonderful mental health representation. the world was fun to explore, I really enjoyed the farm setting some of the book takes place in. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good MM romance with as much unhinged shenanigans as it has sweet spicy relationship building!

I loved getting to go through their stories with them to better understand their perspectives and why they are the way they are as we get to know them as the people they became. I won't give too much away, but it is so worth the read.
I really hope there will be more collabs to come between these two.

What happens when you pair two dark omegaverse authors together? You get this gem of course. First things first, be sure to check out that content shopping list in the front, these two like to make sure you get a little of everything. K, now for the good stuff, Tav and Bent both have incredibly dark pasts. So, this means that one snack of an alpha may have developed a very special set of skills useful for acquiring an omega. And, one neuro-spicy omega may have tendencies that would push less skilled alphas away. The push and pull between these two was hotttt. Freya and Jenn will give you characters to love and characters that you love to see meet their maker.

“ Tav” or Octavian is our grumpy omega who has truly suffered more than is possible. His upbringing was the most terrible and this makes him cynical and skittish. Bentley in the other hand is our Alpha who comes from a family full of love, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t suffered. However this suffering made him fight harder for what he wants. When Bentley senses tell him Tav is his scent match he decided to show him what true happiness is about. I adored how patient and understanding Bentley was of Tavs quirks. Tav also made concessions on his manias for Bentley and embraced being an Omega. This was such an enjoyable read! I give this ⭐️5 and 🌶️4

A seamless, perfectly written co-write from Freya Ellis James and Jenn Bullard. It was cohesive and beautifully engaging, with two traumatised characters that complimented each other brilliantly. I have to admit, Bentley was an absolute standout character, even with his own past to deal with, he manages to help, support and protect Octavian. My heart broke multiple times throughout the book but was pieced back together slowly and deliberately painfully by authors who wrangle every emotion from you. If you love reading MM and omegaverse stories, you will thoroughly enjoy but check your triggers first. I, for one, could not put it down.

I really enjoyed this book, it’s split into two parts with the first part being where we learn all about Bentley & Tav’s past and what made them who they are. Part two kicks off with them meeting and ultimately Bentley pursuing Tav with all he has. On paper they shouldn’t work but the chemistry between them is palpable. I have to say my favourite part was seeing how Bentley cared for Tav and how they both accepted each other faults and all. Their banter was perfect and I loved that they got their hard fought for HEA. Brilliant read.

There is so much tenderness wrapped in the violent atrocities that this newly found pair must navigate. Bentley’s unwaveringly protective obsession and Tav’s longing under his sarcastic shell, are the perfect backdrop to this emerging love story.
We are given brief glimpses into their troubled pasts, which added such a layer of depth when they find each other in the future. I found myself wishing this was longer, so that we could have born greater witness to them finding redemption and healing in a deeper level.
That being said, this was violent, evocative, and endearing. There are some heavy topics covered, so please check content warnings. But please take a chance on this new writing pair when Knot His Beast releases in May 25th.

Octavian had an absolutely horrible childhood. When he finally grows up and gets away, he manages to buy himself a building, start his own business, and secure a private place for him to live. Bentley has his own childhood trauma, but he handles it in a completely different way. When he crosses paths with Tav, he realizes they’re scent matches and belong together. It takes Tav some time and some convincing to agree. Unfortunately, the trauma isn’t over for Tav, but Bentley and his family will be there to pick up the pieces. Darkly sweet and spicy. Loved it!!!

I loved these to MMCs. Bentley is protective alpha of those he cares for and Tav is an omega who has been through so much. Tav was easy to relate to, he suffers from OCD and self harm. I just wanted to wrap him up and protect him from all the horrible things he’s had to live through…enter in his scent match, Bentley. The spice level was perfect, watching Bentley give Tav all the things he has denied himself was perfect. If you like dark and omegaverses grab this one quickly. You won’t regret it!
