Granny Smith #4

Granny Smith: Murder Plot

Rate this book
THE LITTLE OLD LADY IS BACK TO SOLVE ANOTHER CRIME!! Once again the small Welsh village of Gilfach find itself the scene for a particularly brutal murder when the body of Joan Barkingsdale is found concealed in the allotments of a local radio celebrity. The police think it is an open and shut case, but Granny Smith is convinced they have the wrong man, and that there is a much more complicated murder plot to uncover. The media immediately pounce on the case given that the man accused of the grisly deed is none other than popular radio celebrity, Trevor Barkingsdale. And Granny finds herself having to fend off the world's press as well as the ire of Chief Inspector Miskin. A heavy metal listening, pipe smoking, non-nonsense granny (who isn't really that old) who gets involved in crime solving in a welsh village, what more could you need?! ***** A delightful story with an unpredictable plot, remarkable characters, and comedic happenings that combine for an engaging light-hearted read. Granny Smith, named after the apple convincingly morphs into "Miss Marple on steroids". *****

Miss Marple on Steroids

Who can resist the enjoyment of an unusual old lady who enjoys Heavy Metal music and a corn cobe pipe to help her solve a murder? Granny Smith may be a bit eccentric but her hunches just might help solve another murder. I loved the characters as they all contribute to authentic Welsh village as well as making it so enjoyable. Granny Smith to the rescue. Lots of fun in this cozy mystery.

The Famed Granny

Oh, Granny! Getting her fame on. At her husband 's allotment, Granny and her best friend, Maud, discover the body of the wife of famed radio personality, Trevor Barkingsdale, stuffed in a water-butt. The police are quick to make an arrest. Mr Barkingsdale asks Granny to investigate and help to find the real killer. Another delightful tale with plenty of humor. Good stuff!!

Fun read

Unfortunately this is another book supposedly British English but still with the awful American 'gotten' and unavoidable 'eye rolls' sprinkled amongst the text. Lots of errors where 'spell check' had failed.
