The Buddy Christ has been subject to a holy heist, and everyone’s favorite cannabic duo are at the center of this cardinal calamity. When Jay and Silent Bob’s less than immaculate conception of a plan to summon the Angel of Death goes wrong, they find themselves having a holy reunion with none other than their old Dogma buddy, Metatron—Herald of the Almighty, Voice of the one true God, and dropper of divine nuggets of knowledge. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!
• Kevin Smith returns to the View Askewniverse with the third installment of Quick Stops.
Another small tribute comic by Kevin, what starts out slightly dumb with references to the Evil Dead and apparently the Catholic Church's anime Mascot Luce (I had to google it, yes it's real and yes it's terrifying) turns into a touching tribute to both Alan Rickman who starred in 1999's Dogma and the character of Dante Hicks. It's timing isn't coincidental either, as Smith recently in the past 4 months revealed he had finally reacquired the rights to the film after a long uphill battle involving the Weinstein's and has plans to rerelease the film on December 9th, an 17 years after the film was last put out on home media. I'm curious to see if Kevin will continue the trend of tributes in 4 and 5 and if so, who to? 2025 seems to be the year of Kevin Smith comics from the weird Archie crossover to this Smith seems to have found peace within having to quote him: "All my toys back together again"
These Quick Stops comics keep getting better and better. I was loving this issue cuz it ties into the movie Dogma, then page 4 hits and time stops. I know EXACTLY where in the "timestream" of the View Askew universe this takes place, and it almost brought me to tears! Grant Morrison WISHES he had Kevin Smith's talent. If u r a Jersey Trilogy fan, these comics r for u!!!
