Medusa’s ex-boyfriend cut off one of her snakes and is now running around the city petrifying people. Read that again. And did I mention he’s a fucking gargoyle?? Between juggling this growing mate bond, this sex-induced haze never leaving me alone, and the idea that my boss is using me and my mates as an experiment becoming more apparent, we’re in for another wild ride. Hopefully, I don’t end up in a lab, poked and prodded until eternity. Maybe it’s time I tell my mates I love them just in case? Petrified is the third novella in an 18+ MMM shifter slow-burn cozy suspense featuring a Chameleon shifter and his basilisk mates, a very sexy Medusa, her gargoyle ex, and a boss who might just be evil. This novella can not be read as a standalone. Ends with an HFN. CW in the Author’s note.

Petrified: An MMM Cozy Suspense Novella — Designation #3 by N. Slater
I really enjoyed this addition to the series! Leviathan, Amand, and Rowan’s story completely pulled me in. I loved watching their relationship develop while the suspense and tension kept building.
The chemistry between these three was fantastic, and I really enjoyed the balance of romance, action, suspense, and paranormal elements. The characters each brought something different to the story, and their dynamic was definitely one of my favorite parts.
N. Slater once again delivered a fun, engaging read with memorable characters, great chemistry, and enough suspense to keep me turning the pages.
If you enjoy MMM romance, shifters, paranormal romance, cozy suspense, slow burn, and fated-mate vibes, this is definitely one to add to your TBR!
Love the case/mystery surrounding finding Medusa's gargoyle ex-boyfriend. It's very interesting seeing Levi's developing power while handling this case too. The plot was very intriguing, though short because this is novella length.
Levi felt a bit different in this one though. Not sure if the writing for his character has changed or it's deliberate to show the mate bond is affecting him more than his other two mates. It didn't feel like Levi at all except the few times he was on the case and being his detective self. Maybe it's just me.
Seriously, at this point I am completely invested in Leviathan and his men. Every book keeps pulling me deeper into their story, and I love how there’s always something happening that keeps me hooked and wanting more.
But before we talk about my favorites…
GERALD.
I absolutely HATE this man.
Seriously, Gerald deserves to look Medusa directly in the eyes and turn to stone. Permanently. 😂 I don’t care about his bonded mates or whatever else he has going on at this point. Every time this man appears, my immediate reaction is, Oh great, what now?!
Anyway… back to the men I actually LIKE. 😂
Leviathan, Rowan, and Armand.
I still absolutely love these three! Their chemistry continues to be 🔥, and I love getting more of their relationship with every book. They each bring something completely different to the dynamic, but somehow they fit together so well.
And honestly? They’re just soooo yummy. 🔥
I love how their connection has continued to develop throughout the series instead of staying in one place. The more time I spend with them, the more attached I become, and I’m completely invested in seeing where their story goes.
N. Slater continues to give me drama, chemistry, characters I adore, and apparently villains I would personally like Medusa to handle for me.
Gerald can go. Leviathan and his men can stay forever. 🐍🔥🖤
Book 3 was definitely a great awesome read. It picks up from the cliffhanger from book 2. So I definitely will tell you that this is not a standalone book. You definitely need to start with book one and work yourself through this series. I love the main characters. Each men have their own characteristics, their own strength and weaknesses. But they come together as a unit, and they work perfectly together. I love the spicy romantic energy that they have with each other. I will definitely recommend reading this book.
Another great read by N. Slater. Reading about Leviathan, Amand, and Rowan and their developing relationship with some added suspense and tension kept building–perfect! Petrified is well balanced between paranormal elements, spicy romance and the building tension!
