If his life was going down the toilet, he would make darn sure he brought company. He wasn’t swimming in the cesspit alone. He’d be that crab in the barrel.
“I just wanted your advice on how I should approach the hearing tomorrow. From what I’ve got in this file, another file, and backed up on seven different decentralized servers, it looks like you’re probably going to be preparing your own defense before long. So,” Jake says, taking a breath, “are you sure you don’t have any advice for me?”
