I felt this was a bit confusing when you don't know that much about the Inhumans, besides I feel the art cover is a bit of a misdirection... I thought it would be modern style art, but this is very much the classic comics look from the 60's-70's, which I don't enjoy as much...
Wildly uneven, the fact that the writers were filling in dialogue based on the illustrations clearly on view, this collection of stories from the late 60s starts with an Inhumans story from Amazing Adventures #8 (1971) that I picked up off the racks as a kid but never read the conclusion. Goal achieved!
I had read Avengers #95 before but not these "Amazing Adventures" INHUMANS stories leading up to it. Neal Adams doesnt disappoint, if you are a fan of his early art, this is worth picking up. But be warned, The writing is typical Roy Thomas inconsistency, as all his work is. Some parts are borderline genius and some parts of the writing is so bad you Both cringe AND LOL. (This effect happens with the writing of a lot of Marvels from mid-to-late 60/early 70s ERA). I would say 4.5 stars for Adams art, 2 stars for Thomas writing....as for The Inhumans stories in this compilation by Conway/Sekowsky, they are flat out horrible. 'Nuff Said.
