Wow. Read this book in one sitting this morning, and will be thinking about this book for awhile. The writing and story just gets better and better each chapter. The concept for the love story is so unique, and absolutely took me by surprise when revealed. Can't wait to read the author's second book! Will be following for more.

Great book! But be careful, once you start reading it you won't put it down :) The slow unveilling of the characters and the plot twists kept me glued to this book.
Never heard of this author before so that was a really good surprise. Can't wait to read H.K. Abrahams' next book!

One of the things I love about reading is discovering – for me – new authors. H.K. Abrahams is such an author. Challenging Destiney is her first and only book to this date and I very much hope she’ll continue writing. I’ve enjoyed reading this book.
“The war between my heart and my brain couldn’t keep going on like that. It was eating me up and I knew I wouldn’t be able to move on until I decided what to do. I needed to make up my mind. And what better day than Valentine’s Day to seal your love fate…”

Although living in Paris, since she was a little girl Chloe dreamed about moving to New York and meeting her knight in shining armor. After having finished school, much to her surprise an American publishing company has offered her a job so she will be relocating to the Big Apple. And while she’s ecstatic to see her dreams come true, she knows she’s going to miss her parents, her big sister and her best friend. On the flight to New York she meets the attractive Adam, and while starting her life in the city, slowly she and Adam are getting to know each other.
“He reminded me of someone, his face almost familiar, but I quickly changed my mind, knowing that I couldn’t have forgotten such a face. I wasn’t feeling at ease and I could feel the heat rising in my cheeks. Great Chloe, just the right moment to feel shy and insecure!”

After breaking up with his longtime girlfriend, Adam has buried himself in his work. Growing up with the dysfunctional relationship of his parents, he didn’t have the best example, but he knows his relation wasn’t leading anywhere. After some interference from a friend, Adam finally takes a long overdue vacation, bringing him to Paris. The moment he lays his eyes on Chloe in a bookshop, he feels a connection to her, a connection he can’t ignore.
“I was completely lost in her eyes, not knowing where I was or why I was there. The only thing I knew was that I was feeling a connection to that stranger and it was stronger than anything I had felt before.”

When Chloe leaves the airport she doesn’t expect to hear from Adam again, but to her surprise he reaches out. Not knowing anybody in New York – besides her roommate and colleagues – Adam starts to show Chloe around and slowly they give into their feelings for each other. The relationship feels sweet and real, until Chloe isn’t sure what to believe anymore. All Adam can do is to give her full disclosure.

Challenging Destiny is written in a dual POV, giving the story of both Chloe and Adam. I fully understand Chloe’s feelings; all alone in a big city, not sure what to believe, what’s true. I’m glad she didn’t forgive Adam right away. Like she says, in a romance book the events sounds romantic, but in real life it’s just creepy. Challenging Destiny is H.K. Abrahams’ first book, and for a debut book it’s very well written, I will definitely read future books by the author.
“We weren’t equal, our situation wasn’t fair and that’s why I feel like we need…” “To start all over again,” I finished for her, understanding every single word that had left her lips. “Exactly,” she said, surprised that I was getting it so easily. We looked at each other for a few moments and I knew what I needed to do.”

I’ve enjoyed reading the story of Adam and Chloe, I give this book 4 stars.

Chloe has always dreamed of moving from France to New York City. After she finishes college she accepts a job at a publishing company there and feels like her lift couldn't possibly be any better. Until she gets on the plane and is upgraded to First Class, seated next to a beautiful stranger named Adam.

One might think that this was love at first sight. The two hit it off and he offers her his business card. He lives in New York as well and seems very interested in seeing her again. Chloe however doesn't realize that he may have tempted fate to get them there.

She finds the perfect apartment with a woman named Mel. The two become fast friends and Me

The two begin dating and Chloe can't believe her luck. She loves her job and is falling in love with Adam. She finds the perfect apartment with a woman named Mel and the two become fast friends. When a series of letters start to show up at her apartment, things start to get weird and Chloe doesn't know who to turn to. Adam and Mel don't seem to be the people she thought they were...

I have been going back in forth between 3 and 4 stars for this story. It started of a little slow for me. In typical chick-lit fashion the main character seems to be living a great life and suddenly something changes their course. In this book I didn't see the conflict coming at all but I also think it took a long time to reach that part, about halfway through. After that Chloe begins to realize what really happened and everything falls together again.

Someone who enjoys a well put together romantic love story would enjoy this quick read. 3.5 stars from me.

It felt like you were in the book watching the story as it happened a book that you can easily get lost in. Just when you thought you know what happened it was a totally different outcome, I would definitely recommend this book I could not put it down. The author has a way of drawing the reader in and you just want to be part of the characters life's. I lent my copy to a few people to read after I was done and they also had the same view. I will for sure enjoy reading any other books by H.K.Abraham

Where do I start.....The storyline has such amazing potential! The Author has HUGE potential. I honestly enjoyed the book more when I hit about 65%....I truly loved the idea of this book, I think it just failed slightly to hit its mark. Would I read another book by this author? YOU BET! I think she really has a talent and a gift for a story. I was just a little disappointed overall.

A sweet love story full of humor and lovable characters. I didn’t see the twist coming and liked that. I had a great time reading this book and discovering this new (to me) author.
