Writing this book and recording the songs that are part of the story was a twisted ride. I really don't know why it all came... At moments it felt darkly beautiful and mysterious and at other times it had my stomach in knots and me questioning my motives and values.

There are many layers to the story. On the surface it is heartless but I did eventually realize that underneath it is a love story.

I can't wait to see what strangers think... I have had friends read the book and tell me they literally couldn't stop or that it made them cry, turned them on and even haunted them in between reads. I tend to believe them because they are the kind of people that wouldn't lie to me. However, they are friends so there is always that seed of doubt regarding their ability to be objective.

If I don't know you and you read this book please let me know what happens for you, even if you hate it and of course feel free to love it too. Whatever is true is the best.

If Tarryn Fisher had an identical male twin, then that would be the author of this book. Totally bizarre. I didn't like but I couldn't put it down so I gave it two stars. I knew the ending of this story from the beginning. I thought maybe the end would have a twist but it didn't. Two stars because I liked the addition of the music. Gave it a really creepy flavor to the book. Though the music addition to the book was awesome and I wish more authors did this, I won't be recommending this book to anyone.

I have read ir, listened to the music /and I still do listen it/ ans kept wondering if it was for real :) Yeah, I know I tend to watch and reed to many crime stories, but... It just seemed so real. And the songs are really beautiful. Share your thoughts :)

This one is a creeper! I mean that it crept up on me as I read, and it's creepy but more intense and unsettling with a rich mood and unique characters to be exact.

I love the whole thing. I wouldn't say it started slow but it took me a few chapters to realize it wasn't a typical mystery, romantic, suspense, crime, book with music ha! It's really hard to classify this book. I felt a range of emotions from fear to anger, to romance, empathy and plenty of adrenaline. All this set against a perpetually foggy, raining background of the city of San Francisco which I love.

I don't know if it will be hailed as a literary masterpiece because it's a little blunt and in your face, maybe like really good junk food, but there was no chance in hell I could stop reading it. To me that's what makes any book matter.

The female detective lead character takes some stunning developmental twists to say the least and her partner is one of those guys you would want as a really fun, interesting friend but never want to date.

The mystery and crime solving aspects are really good too, there were some twists I haven't seen in a book. I thought it had holes but I read back and there are subtle things that I missed and everything was air tight. That's very important to the amateur sleuth I am in my head.

I didn't listen to the music yet so the book really is just a great book. I'm a little afraid that the music will shift the experience for me but the friend that recommended this book to me said she loved the music so the verdict is out, but my rating is for the book not the music.

Oh and don't even try to predict the end! I guarantee you can't.

Definite recommend, best fiction I've read so far this year.

I loved it! The reading was so interesting that I kept thinking about the book and characters in between my reading times.
The story takes place in San Francisco. The main characters are 2 detectives (male and female) and a serial killer that they are trying to catch. The book is full of funny moments and dialogues. Also, a big part of the story is songs that are being found in every murder scene. The book actually has links to these songs. How cool is that? The music added aliveness to the book as if I was a part of the investigation process and not just a reader. Overall, I think it's a great book and I can see why it is being made into a movie.

Your Sin: Songs for Dead Girls really wowed me but I should have suspected it would from the amazing reviews. This is a stellar book and S.F. Berlin is a talented storyteller. The characters expressed themselves in a raw manner and in contrast, was the quiet, haunting song lyrics that softened the act of murder.

This is a well-crafted story that is one of the best mystery/thrillers I've read this year.

Don't skip this one. You'll be glad you read it. It does not disappoint.

What a crock of you know what. Characters with no character, and a story with little substance. Binned.

Meh. Quick read. Reads like a cross between episodes of The Killing and Criminal Minds. The music wasn't half bad for the emo in all of us.
