Kate Sullivan comes from a hockey family, with her older brother playing on the professional team coached by their father, and having played herself as far as women could prior to professional hockey being an actual option. When new-to-the-team Liam Caldwell is struggling through a rough patch, a teasing kiss aligns with a winning goal, and before the two of them know it, they’re embroiled in a surprisingly pleasant fake-dating situationship…. That it irks Kate’s gruff dad and protective brother is just a fun bonus.

Laurel Greer characters shine, and Liam and Kate are winners all the way. With generous hearts and innate kindness, these two don’t have far to tumble from pretending for the hockey public to far too real feelings. It is a real pleasure to see their genuine care for each other steadily growing and enjoy the sweetness of their time together, as much as they are allowing themselves to…. Ms Greer gives Kate and Liam space to work out their fears and room to be brave. Love the warmth of the Sullivan family and the team and their friends. Eagerly anticipating the next in this series.

First in the Lucky Shot Romance series, in which Kate Sullivan, daughter of a coach and a coach herself--to children wanting to play ice hockey--should be off limits to any of the professional players her father coaches. But Liam Caldwell doesn't follow that particular rule when he teases Kate to kiss him for luck and so he'll stop missing getting the puck into the goal at games.

She kisses him and what starts a run of goals he's makes also pushes them into turning--without wanting to--their fake dating into something more real than either imagined would happen.

A super story that fits right into what's going on around the country and the world with the increase in interest and activity with women's ice hockey and other women's professional teams. Worth reading and imagining what else will happen with a few lucky shots at the goal, whatever it happens to be.

I am so excited about this new series by Laurel Greer! I absolutely loved this story. I couldn’t put it down. Both main characters, Liam and Kate are the perfect couple. I loved the obstacles they faced and the secondary characters added a nice touch to the story.
Laurel did a fantastic job at creating a hockey romance that’s fresh. A great take on the fake dating troupe!
