I did enjoy the second part of this YA series! I was a little surprised who had managed to survive from the last book. There is lots of madness & mayhem, the plot thickens, some action & lots of adventure! A good continuation of the storyline, a real fun read!

Monsterland Reanimated: Book 2
Monsterland Reanimated: Book 2 is a thrilling, post-apocalyptic ride that takes the stakes of Michael Okon’s first book to an entirely new level. Civilization teeters on the edge as Wyatt navigates a world of chaos, encountering governments in collapse, terrifying new monsters, and the sinister Behemoth. Okon masterfully blends suspense, horror, and adventure, creating a relentless pace that keeps readers on edge from start to finish.

The book’s monsters are vividly imagined, from the eerie reanimated mummies to the horrifying life-devouring ooze known as The Glob, culminating in the terrifying hybrid Behemoth. Wyatt’s journey through devastation is not just a survival story, it’s a pulse-pounding exploration of courage, strategy, and the fight to protect humanity when everything seems lost. Fans of horror, post-apocalyptic fiction, and monster thrillers will find themselves completely immersed in this second installment.

What really hooked me early on was the scene where Carter pauses outside one of the newly built containment camps, sun going down, the chain-link fencing buzzing faintly with electricity, and he realizes just how fragile their little town has become. The streets that used to feel safe are now crowded with restless vagrants and the uneasy quiet that follows every fresh outbreak.

There’s this moment where he remembers the first infected aid workers who brought the virus back from overseas, and it hits him that everything spiraled so fast that the government had no choice but to build these massive settlements, as eerie and desperate as ancient leper colonies. The mix of fear, sympathy, and disbelief in Carter’s thoughts made the whole world of the book feel unsettlingly real.

If the rest of the story keeps building on tension like that, I’m in for a ride.
