On a June night in 2027, the United States breathes its final innocent breath, unaware of the terrible disease that would sweep the country leaving ninety percent of the population to a bleak existence as ambulatory corpses. Told over a handful of days, Startup Z is the story of a small group of survivors struggling to keep their footing in this drastically changed world where they find that surviving the disease is far from a guarantee that they will survive what comes after.Startup Z is the prequel to Zombie, Inc.
It's a pretty typical apocalypse by zombie book. A good portion of the book is spent coming to grips with zombies and people freaking out. The latter half deals with a rescue and return. There's nothing new here. It doesn't really stand out. I'm not even sure there's a plot. Towards the end, all of the characters seem to run together.
If you're looking for standard apocalypse by zombie fare, this is it. It's a good way to kill a few hours.
Enjoyable prequel to Zombie Inc. Where the original is a refreshing new look at the genre, this one is more standard fare. It does a good job of setting up some of what is to come in the future (aka book one).
This book was a boring stereotypical zombie book, without interesting plot or characters. It didn’t even feel like the same author as the first book. Sadly disappointed.
