Lily loves movies—especially the bloody ones. They distract her from her broken life, even if it’s only for a few hours at a time. But something unbelievable is about to happen in the backwards little video store where she works. Someone Lily knows is not who they say they are. And when she finds out their dark secret, she will be drawn into a world of violence and destruction as fantastic as any body-count blockbuster. She will be hunted by mercenaries, a ninja master, an invincible cannibal butcher and a psychopathic super soldier more bloodthirsty than death itself. If she’s lucky, she might still be breathing when the credits roll…

This was just dumb, gory fun from start to finish. There's evil bikers, super soldiers, a ninja, a promiscuous young lady who i didn't really like reading about because it seemed... awkward. There's a NWO, conspiracies galore and more.. But, it was a lot of fun and it takes the piss out of everyone. Nothing is sacred in this, no-one is spared, everyone gets a taste of the bitch pudding. Is it for everyone? 😂😂😂😂😂 wait, wait. 😂😂😂😂... no. No it is not. But if you can suspend all disbelief, all dignity, and all your sensibilities for a few hours you'll have a good time. Pretty good 3 star book. It's like a good b-movie with shoddy special effects. There are parts that are likely to make you uncomfortable, I was there it happens... more than once. But if you power through it you get an awkward ending that feels like a mixture of Conair and Showgirls, it's not bad but it's goofy. This is a goofy book.

There it is and there you have it. Time for you to go back to the Glutton For Punishment shelf.

Wow, what a book! Very gory, lots of fighting, lots of blood and things blowing up with a dash of humor. It was hard to put down. I enjoyed it.

A truly badass and enjoyable piece of fiction. It's what you'd get if Deadpool and the 80's had a child.

This is one of the best books I've ever read. It's as fun and as serious as an 80's action flick. Anyone who can appreciate good gun battles, knife fights, hot female characters, mayhem, flaunting of tropes, carnage, Slayer, sarcasm and/or explosions should buy this book!

Once again, I only gave it 5 stars because 6 is not an option. I hope this is not the final chapter of the KILL KILL KILL series. Sid Hansen is my favorite character in any medium and Lily is a great addition who compliments him nicely, definitely my kind of vixen! And what an ending!! You can take your Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Divergent, and Twilight sagas and shove 'em up your ass!!! I'll stick with the KILL KILL KILL, Phineas Poe, and Hater sagas ALL FUCKING DAY!!!!

This book was such a fast read. It wasn't anything like I expected when I started reading it, but I loved it.

Lily is a girl working in a Video store, who ends up meeting Sid, who just happens to be a "supersoldier" who has been trained by his father since childhood to be able to kill anything and everything. Sid though, just wants a normal, mundane life. Unfortunately, the secret Government agency Sid works for wants him back, and keeps trying to capture him.
His evil brother, who is also a "supersoldier" escapes from a prison a la Hannibal Lecter/Magneto, and wants to destroy the same Govt agency. In the process, Lily and Sid manage to grab the "macguffin" Sid's brother wants, so he goes after the both of them.

It all leads to a boss fight to top all fights, and Sid and his crazy brother go up against each other. Only one can win!

From the book blurb I expected this novel to be something like a classic Arnold Schwarzenegger movie—Commando or Raw Deal—and nonstop action is pretty much what you get. There is nothing deep in these pages, but they are a tremendous amount of mindless fun. The story revolves around two teenagers: Sid—who’s been trained from birth to be a killing machine—and Lily—who’s trying to escape her mother’s truly horrifying ex. Throw in secret government programs and another super soldier and you have just enough plot to justify tons of actions. Lily is the only character with any depth, but honestly the plot doesn’t need much character development. Tons of fun.

Jarring and Inconsistent

First, the good. The pacing is tight, the prose is solid, and the proofreading is really good.
Too bad the characters are tropes, the super powers are unexplained, the powers randomly stop working, no one admits they are powers, the action is cartoon level ridiculous, and the shadow government never read the evil overlord list.
Like a Tarantino movie, this is too full of itself to be good.

Well I finished it. Not sure why. Probably just inertia and didn’t feel like looking for something else to read. Every so often I enjoy a good book about a serial killer but this one wasn’t it. I didn’t care about the main characters. Sid stepped out of character by not killing Lily for no apparent reason. If he was trying to see how ‘normals’ felt or did things, he would not have gotten her involved. Didn’t care for it.

a heavy metal album in prose

This is not a book for the squeamish. The violent tale of a teenage super soldier who's trying to leave his life behind and get a minimum wage job. The humor is black and had me laughing at more than a few points where I should have been deeply disturbed. Altogether, Mike Leon has created a character with a lot of promise that dwells in a world that successfully blends genres without being confusing or dull. Bravo!

Meh

Bad story direction, no explanation for multiple scenes. The author seems to think that the reader will just "get it" without any kind of backstory. The sex scenes and really the whole love story arc seems rushed and thrown together. It reads like a bad movie, which is kind of a joke because i think that's what the author was actually going for. Pass

Wuff!

Ever since I started reading this book, I wondered how to review it. Think of that guilty pleasure movie you know you shouldn't like, but keep watching anyway. This book is like that. Carnage to the Nth degree, completely implausible, totally unbelievable, yet an enjoyable read, and a heck of a lot of fun too.

Just like old times

Mr. Leon delivers an old time thrill, like Mac Bolen or the Destroyer did in my youth. This is a guilty pleasure reading, nothing more, nothing less. I really enjoy a good suspension of thought kind of read and Mr. Leon does not disappoint. No thinking or reasoning is needed, just a fun run through the pages.

Drive In Movie Review!

Wow, this book has it all, from crazy sex to rip your heart out of your chest and show it to before you die stuff. Lots of firepower, extravagant violence, crazy sex, just like a drive in movie

This is heinous brain candy, amped up. Sid Hansen is a machine of destruction that makes Mack Bolen and Remo Williams look like the B team. This is sick and funny, not for everyone, but I will check out book two. If you need a break from the usual, check it out.

I LOVED this book!! I was hooked from the first few "Jack Reacharound" pages! This book has the rare combination of being funny with way over-the-top cartoon violence and a little bit of sessy time.

Mike Leon is one of my new have-to-read authors. This guy is brilliant.

I sort of regret this book. It is pretty much every crappy action movie stereotype crammed into a single book. However, despite the deep flaws those stereotypes imply the book was amusing enough to finish and has the echoes of some of the pulp novels of the past only taken too far.

Glorious destruction

The survivors are outnumbered by the dead. Guns, knives, grenades, a sword, and finally industrial equipment are used in this orgy of death.

This is a no apologies gore fest of destruction, with some sex mixed in to give it that extra kick.

Wow. Not sure if this is the best book ever.

Or maybe the worst. But seriously, this came out of left field, and it is awesome. It was a bit heavy on the Pepsi stuff, but otherwise it was perfect. Great editing, funny, plenty of pop-culture hidden gems, and a pretty solid story.

Action Pack!

I really enjoyed it. It was action packed from the get go, and it leaves you wanting more. I definitely recommend it. It was also a very smooth read, and love that it was Rated R... Looking forward to seeing more in this series.

B movie in print

This was just great cheesy fun.
Grab a copy and enjoy a book that would have made a great movie back in the 80's.
