Don’t sleep with your teammates. It was the one rule they emphasized to us ladies at the Fire Academy. The kind of rule that existed for a crucial reason. And it was an easy rule to follow… Until I got transferred to Miami Fire Station 47.
With just two weeks until Christmas, Firefighter Amy Pederson is transferred to a special new fire station in the suburbs of Miami. It’s a tremendous honor to have been selected out of hundreds of applicants, but Amy can’t help but feel like she doesn’t belong. And it only gets worse when she meets her three hunky guys in her unit, some of whom aren’t too thrilled to have a woman on their team. Yet as they take holiday calls together they begin bonding in ways only a close-knit group who risk their lives together can. Every time they throw on their gear and stride into the swirling smoke their petty differences seem silly by comparison—especially with rumors of a holiday arsonist plaguing Miami.
But now Amy has the opposite she and her new unit mates are beginning to like each other too much, a temptation that’s impossible to avoid while living with three delicious firefighter hunks. Can Amy douse her unrelenting feelings while searching for the arsonist, or will everything go up in smoke?
FIVE ALARM CHRISTMAS is a steamy, stand-alone Reverse Harem romance filled with humor, action, and mystery. HEA guaranteed!

The heroine:Amy - she is a firefighter in Miami, who is very good at her job. She loves to drive the big fire truck, loves helping people and everything about being a firefighter. She graduated second in her class at the firefighter's academy in Maryland and is now the best firefighter at her large station in Miami. When other members of the team were off shift, she would stay to help out around the fire station, and exercised until every muscle was sore.
The Heroes:Christian, Angel & Sparks - firefighter’s that came from the same station and were being reassigned to the new Hialeah station. They had been a team of four, but their fourth, Brady wasn’t selected for the new station, and they were not happy about being split up. Though they were happy to see what a nice new station they would be living in.
The Story: The fire chief tells Amy that she has been assigned to the new station in Hialeah that is designed to only run during peak hours in 12-hour shifts with four people per shift. It is an honor to be chosen for the job and it wasn’t something Amy could say no to without limiting her career aspirations. Though she signed up for the placement over two years ago and now was more than happy where she was at. So, Amy agrees to the new position and gets ready to start her new job.
I have recently been loving Cassie Cole’s reverse harem romance books. Not only does she do a ton of research on every subject she writes about, but the world building and character development is terrific. Her descriptions are on point and her stories are just great. Add that to the fact that all of them are stand-alone books between 300 and 400 pages. You just couldn’t ask for more in a reverse harem romance.
This book was fantastic from the very beginning when it showed Amy driving the rig to a fire and then her partner at her old station going into a burning house and saving a woman and her baby. It was great how the fire was described and how detailed it was. For example, the fire started in the kitchen and was probably a grease fire so they couldn’t use just water from the hose hooked up to the fire hydrant or that would make the fire worse.
The story got so much better as it went on. There was arson, suspense and danger. There was romance, and camaraderie and fun. I just can’t say enough about the research Cassie does into her stories and how much all the detail adds to how interesting the stories get. If I had the money, I would buy all of her books right now and read them one after another, but I am stuck waiting for them to go on sale.
I really hated on this book and it's all because of the men or really one man but I'll get to this.... The beginning of the book was really fun and interesting as we get to know the heroine. This chick loves her job, working out and cooking. I learned far more than I needed to about fighting fires and weight lifting. She's at home with her fire crew until an old unanswered resume has her being transferred to a new unit with a whole new team. At first she's hesitant but after getting a look at the new place and her new crew she's more than ready for her new adventure. She's ready to prove herself even though she really shouldn't have to. Sadly her joy and optimism is almost immediately squashed when the men show their true colors. Let's just say at least one never won me over. He is such an asshole douche canoe I don't have enough words for his level immaturity and sexism. Not only is he butt-hurt that one of his teammates did not get the last remaining spot at the new station, he's livid and in disbelief that their new partner is a WOMAN.
I hated how quick she was sleeping with them when they still had little to no respect for her. It was too much for me because it's like she didn't have enough respect for herself. Not only that apparently its the biggest NO NO to sleep with your crew mates and yet it's no time for her to do so. Someone who LOOOOOOVES her job mind you yet she sleeps with these men who don't believe she can be as good as them simply because she has a vagina. One even has an honest to god tantrum after sleeping with her and honestly a good piano falling on his head moment would have been the only thing redeeming.
As for it being a Christmas read. I mean maybe kinda sorta. The end of the book features the holiday and they do a very small amount of celebrating. Other than that it was just a crazy misogynistic/erotica book with a heroine who clearly loses value in herself by sleeping with these 3.
Five Alarm Christmas was easy to read. It just sucks that one of the characters was really frustrating for most of this book. I get that he was butt hurt that is buddy didn't get to tag along with them to this new unit, but hot damn. Build a bridge and get the fuck over it.
I guess in a way him being a little douche nugget helped build great tension. It just annoyed the hell out of me because it seemed like he needed to grow up. Eventually he became likable, and I'd like to thank all the alcohol he drank in order to do so.
Then there's the actual romance. It was hot and steamy when it needed to be. Definitely easy to devour and it made the book a bit better in my eyes. But wait, where's the drama? Well, throw in an arsonist who randomly hates dogs and you got it.
Not exactly surprised with how things ended with this unit. It started off on the wrong foot and I'm glad that they worked things out sexually and professionally.
I was a little disappointed by the lack of Christmas in this book, but the good outweighed the bad. It was a quick, easy and well written read. The plot was basic and simple but I loved the fire fighter aspect and the characters were enjoyable. The romance wasn't really there for me but I did enjoy the spice.
This story holds you captivated from the beginning more or less and all the way throughout the story. Still there is something not quite there for me at least. I liked the story the story line and the characters. Perhaps what took a wrong turn with me were too many typos and clearly wrong words or even made up words.... I hope the author looks at the typos I sent her so that they will not appear in the published book. They troubled me at least. And as the story was otherwise quite good I would have given it four stars but have to take it down to at least three and a half or if a half one is not an option then to three. Of course each has their own opinion about this which is very good. But again, the story was good.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A beautifully written reverse harem firefighter story. The pacing was great. It never felt slow or had a filler chapter. The characters are amazing and felt very real to me, at least.
I only wish there were more spicy scenes, but I do understand that they are firefighters and they have a job to do.
“I love you too, Amy” “I love you, Amy” “And I love you, Amy”
I’m sorry but that was so cute. This was an enjoyable read, I would have liked to see a little bit more of a friendship develop between the characters before all the sex stuff started but I’m still pleased with this book.
First off I just wanna say Congrats,on getting this far,I have tons of ideas and story idea and characters driving me crazy wanting to free but I just haven’t known how to start.... Soo congrats on ping it all together and having a to put out to us readers...
Now I was surprised how good this was in some ways and really disappointed in others.... No offense but too many of the short books with a RH theme all to often they sadly are just little more than a excuse for sex, sees and more sex and very little else..... Now here the writer does give us a interesting plot ,a plot that felt like at least some research went into it and while story seemed to have depth sadly the relationships didn’t.... Some I guess but absolutely nowhere near enough.... Ok, Amy leaves her station where her unit mates ? Are her family (by the way we are told next to nothing about anyone’s families,or past or general backstories) to go start a new fire station, where the guys al start off a ranging scale of d baggery with Amy ... I don’t know who I started off disliking more Sparks or Christian or Angel,Sparks for being such a huge D bag because he’s but hurt his other buddy wasn’t brought along or the other two for being mindless sheep and letting Sparks lead their behavior knowing he’s wrong for it....
Ok,soo you had to leave a buddy behind, but he didn’t belong ... period . Full stop... you knew it and he knew it... this isn’t like working in an office or someplace, this if life and death ,same as with say Police or in the military, you can’t let petty BS like this get in the way.... your lives depend on each other too much for his garbage.... Any to me one of the biggest downfalls in the book was how Amy has barely and I do mean barely transitioned from being ignored and treated like dirt by Christian and Angel when she starts a sexual relationship with one then the other... Now while I could get once in the heat of the moment just playing around and going to far ... yeah.., ok... that happens.. But before anything else happened there should have been a talk a chat a warming up of relations that were non six related and also a talk about wants and needs and expectations... Something .... and most definitely before Amy added another man to her mix... come on! You work together all eat, clean and maintain equipment together, depend on each other to watch each other’s back in a fire 🔥but barely acknowledge each other outside of that except for sex ? Aaaaaaaaaaaaa, shallow on aisle two, huge load of shallow on aisle two.... It’s not really a romance when the ppl involved aren’t making any real moves to get to know each other and are really only sharing their bodies ,not their hopes, dreams, friends families or their lives ... or sure they had to keep things quiet because it wasn’t something others might like or understand but these three weren’t developing a relationship ..... only a sex life.. A sex life that for over half the book Sparks ⚡️ had no knowledge of and wasn’t involved in.... Sparks doesn’t begin to get involved til at least 60% of the book and even that doesn’t make a big difference at first ... Why ? Because even though you’d think ppl with highly dangerous jobs that depend on each other to stay safe and survive might just might be good at communicating with each other, especially since three of them are having sex with each other just about every night ,but no...No not at all... Honestly this was more like just a story where a young woman has a fun friends/mates with benefits thing going at work than anything else.. Almost everyone goes there on way in the weekend, o deep an meaningful get to know chats, they don’t even seem interested in asking or telling what the others are off doing... The heroine goes off and does her thing and the guys seem to do theirs... We aren’t told why exactly but Amy isn’t good at letting ppl in,and the end of the if wrapped up in classic TSTL style when the h goes off alone to confront an arsonist alone w/oat telling the first person about it... flaking the dates with all three guys w/the lame “ work stuff” comment while she finally rushes off into danger alone like a moron... yeah,Amy who is physically strong but mentally ? I can’t say since she thinks confronting an arsonist alone is a good idea... Right... Has to be saved of course,no hard feelings from the guys, even though her untrusting nature almost got her killed and them punished for how the saved her dumb rear end.... Then the story ends in a “Happy for Now” End where in the epilogue supposedly a year has passed and no that much has progressed between them in my opinion because they still haven’t even met each other’s families .... Deep sigh, interesting story and concept but as a “romance” ,I call fail because it more or a friends w/benefits than anything else and w/out a real relationship between the h and her H’s this isn’t a RH to me.... Since it’s KU ,I’d say give it a try... it’s better than some.
I knew going into this that it would be a steamy read, but boy was I unaware of how steamy. This has been the smuttiest book I've read and I am HERE for it haha.
This is obviously not your typical Christmas book, its more of a book based at Christmas time and no real Christmas feel..
Amy is a firefighter, loves her job and her team, when she is thrust into a new unit with all new guys. Little does she know they were all part of another unit, Christian, Sparks and Angel. The four have a bit of a rough start but quickly become more, and I mean MORE. This book had me not wanting to put it down, filled with smut, fire and danger.
This was a good, well-written book by Cassie Cole. The heroine wasn't my type of heroine. Amy was described as looking like a tall, muscular, Viking princess. I like BBW but not so much the muscle women. Sparky, Christian, and Angel were hot, hot, hot, and they were freaking fabulous. Firefighters are so hot! The storyline was a little bit slow but well developed. I would recommend this book to others.
She was my favorite author, but reading more of her stories, I'm so bored just a couple chapters. The MFC just lunges at a character just randomly after no effort was made or heck even any signs of attraction. She is just here let me give it to you.. I want chase, I want a fight for it or some kind of burn. Just sitting on a couch first day on the job and he "looks" at you, and all of a sudden, you gotta jump his bones randomly. 😒
Great story concept for a contemporary reverse harem style book. I loved that it involved a strong female firefighter, not something you see very often in RHs. I particularly liked that she was strong willed, and physically strong too! I also like the way the author didn’t immediately throw the characters together into a insta-love type of situation.
I liked the story well enough, but I did find it off putting with all the references to someone’s “meat” or “meaty hands”. It was just a kind of a “eww” moment for me anytime it popped up, which was somewhat often. It just found it to be a massive turn off. I think if the terminology was changed, or even varied more to other phrases besides just a guys “meat” then this could easily be a 4 star book. There was also just something about the way the sex scenes were written that I just found kind of awkward.

Amy is a firefighter and loves what she does. She has become close with her current workers, but has learned that she has been promoted to new firehouse and that means new partners.
Sparks, Christian, and Angel are a team and they are close more than you think but when they arrive at their new station they are not sure of what to make with Amy.
Once they get to know things happen that they can not explain except now that it has happened they want more of it.
This was a first for me by this author, I really enjoyed it and the chemistry between all of them.
Gonna, not gunna. That was frigging annnoying. Only a few typos, so that was a refreshing change. I didn't really get into the male characters as much. Angel and Sparky were kind of flat.
Amy has always wanted to be a fire fighter and worked hard for her dream. She graduated from the academy an even landed a job working with town of her best friends. A promotion has her starting over at a new station, designed to support the surrounding stations at peak times. Christian, Sparks, and Angel just got a promotion to the new support station, leaving their forth teammate behind. Sparks doesn't take it well. Amy and her new teammates get off to a rough start Christian is friendly, Angel is distant but is at least cordial, Sparks is out right hostile. Amy struggled to find a.place in her new team. She is tough and determined. She is also struggling with the attraction she feels for then. Her old team were like brothers. Christian, Angel and even Sparks are.hot man candy. It doesn't take long for Amy to find Christian and Angle feel the same. Sparks remains distant and hostile. A chance meeting a a salsa club changes that. The four develop a close working and personal relationship. They are teammates, friends and lovers. When Amy is in danger her men will risk their love and careers to save her. A fast paced and steamy romantic drama. MFM with no MM.
Amy is a firefighter and she just earned a promotion to a new firehouse. However it means leaving her unit behind and starting with a new crew. Christian, Angel and Sparks applied with another member of their crew for the positions and were upset that their friend didn't make it. So coming into the firehouse is seeing Amy they were a little reserved about being friendly. Amy struggles to try to find a way to bond with the guys but they go out of their way not to include her. Once they see her in action in the field slowly things change. One rule Amy has always followed is never get involved with a member of her team. Somehow its very difficult not to give into temptation. Will the guys use her weakness to them to get her off their team? Will being together bond them more than they thought?
This is a steamy hot story that will captivate you from beginning until end. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Five Alarm Christmas: A Firefight Reverse Harem Romance by Cassie Cole is a well written reverse harem with some truly heroic firefighters. The dynamics of this firefighter unit as it develops into a scorching hot relationship is built on common interests, friendships and professional camaraderie. This particular reverse harem is a sort of perfection that is fitting for a firefighter unit. What could be better? Living together the majority of the week, eating meals together often, work time and down time to get to know and understand each other. Plenty of time for sexy times and the excitement of their job too. The plot of this book is very interesting and engaging simply from the firefighter perspective and Amy takes the lead through most of the plot. Needless to say, the antagonist is discovered, placing Amy in grave danger and her unit mates and lovers in precarious positions as a result. Overall, an exciting read! While Christmas is not the focus, the timing does add an extra special feeling to these wonderful characters and their relationship as well as the resulting HEA.
Wow what a brilliant story line with so many twist and turns. I really enjoyed getting to know Amy, Christian, Sparks and Angel. I was so sad to finish this book I just wanted to keep reading their story. Amy is a very strong proud firefighter. Who was a part of a very strong team so she was apprehensive to go to a new station with a new team. This was a very new station only working the peak hours and it only had a team of 4 firefighters, Amy wasn't sure. Then she met the rest of her team and knew it was going to be very different. Christian. Sparks & Angel had worked together as a team for a while and were very comfortable together but they were a little upset that Brady hadn't made the team. Well Sparks to be honest was the nicest towards Amy, would he change his mind about Amy?? This story is about them learning to work as a team but then Amy starts to flirt with the lads How will this end??????
I cant wait to read more from Cassie Cole super excited. A Fantastic read. I voluntarly read an ARC on Booksprout and now choose to leave my honest review.
4 1/2 Stars!! My very own guilty pleasure & it totally delivered!
For adults only (18+ years) Contains subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some, including: adult language throughout, steamy adult intimate scenes (MF, MFM, MFMM) and violence (suspected arson, detailed fire scenes, and other things that could be a spoiler if revealed). If any of these types of situations are a trigger or offensive to you, then this may not be the book for you.
These types of stories are my guilty pleasure and this one was really good. It has a solid plot, with some definition on the characters (there were a couple of questions I had left about background which is why I rated it 4 stars), and a very well thought out universe. I don't know if peak hour fire houses exist or not, but they do sound like an efficient way to deal with fire season(s) in and around big cities.
I volunteered to leave a honest review of an ARC from the author and Booksprout. I liked it so much, I had to reread it through KU! Love that program! Wish every author participated.
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we meet Amy Pederson, Sparks Johnson, Angel Martinez, and Christian Nygaard. Amy has never been one of the girls she likes being one of the boys. So when she decides on a career she chooses to be a firefighter. The guys she graduated with are like her brothers more than her squad mates. However 3 years after she graduated she is offered a promotion that she really isn't sure she wants. Christian, Sparks, and Angel all come from the same unit however one look at Amy and they wonder what they got into. They all agree that she is hot though. Can they all get what they want in the end or will it just be a battle of wills till one gets seriously hurt?
This is a great story. It does have its ups and downs I really want to tell you about. However I don't want to ruin it for any other readers. I will say this book will grab you from the first word and not let go even at the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
This is a standalone. Amy is transferred to a new firehouse along with 3 new teammates. She's fought hard to prove herself in the male dominated environment and is determined to show her worth with the new team.
The three guys have all come from the same team, so Amy feels like an outsider from the beginning. But that doesn't stop her from jumping on the first one that shows an interest. To add a bit of tension, one of the guys hates her on sight, but it doesn't take too long before they are all working as a team both on and off the job.
I would have liked a little more buildup to the spice, a bit more than.... you gave me a flirty look, now get n@ked. It was full on from fairly early on. She's definitely in control and making all the moves on her terms.
There is a lot of detail around the role of a firefighter and how the job work, it show the suthor has done a lot of research on the topic and it was interesting to see what some of the job entails other than just turning up and putting the fire out.
I loved Sparks so much as a character! Christian and Angel were nice and all, but they were just there. They didn't really stick out to me, but Sparks was so vibrant and present as a character. It drew me to him right from the get go, even when he was being a jackwagon.
Amy was also a big favourite for me. I love a strong, no-nonsense woman who also knows how to joke around and have fun. Her character had a lot of depth and watching her grow throughout the book was something that I really enjoyed.
Five Alarm Christmas was fun! I do wish that there would've been a bit more interaction with her old squad though. I'd have loved to see them come around more, or at the very least very believably threaten her boys to take care of her. For a group that she said meant a lot to her and that she was genuinely upset to leave, I missed that feeling once she actually got with her new squad. All in all though, I really enjoyable read by Cassie!
For those who like the reverse harem genre, this is a good book. For those who are wandering into the genre and not knowing what to expect will find this particular book a little off putting. Personally if you want to jump a man's body at first glance go ahead but to my way of thinking of might be nice to know at least 1 thing about him. And nothing was even mentioned about protection or medical cleanliness. Yes it's just a story but you'd think about health issues and making sure you're going to be alright. Yes I know they're all fire personnel but there could be other problems too. This is just my opinion..yes I like reading about self assured, strong and self reliant women but, at the same time, those strong women also take care of themselves and are always aware of their partners issues....
This was a new author to me. WOW !!! I was enthralled at the start. I don't remember being so thrilled at starting a new story. This book and very few if any errors. There were a few British terms used in a Miami based story,(that made me giggle). A story your mind gets lost in, where you feel what the characters feel isn't enough to read just once. It's something you want to experience over and over. The love, lust, betrayal, loss everything. A good book can get your heart pumping, your belly dipping, and your body tingling. It's something a person can experience, no matter how many times you read it. Great story. All main characters stood out in their own way. They face various temptations, and many twists and turns along the way. Why have one lover when you can have more? Why have one soul mate when you can have multi? This book is sweet while being Scorching hot at the same time.
This book is horribly written, it’s as if the writer has never met a human woman. I did finish the book but genuinely it was so bad. It got one star for the story line although that even had holes and one star for the sex which was mediocre. You’re telling me a woman in a cocktail dress is going to walk through flames down 32 flights of stairs and she somehow 1) had the energy to argue about carrying an arsonist down the stairs instead of Christian because she thought he was helping her because she was a woman…wtf and 2) somehow makes it out of that with one a slight burn on her leg?? Absolutely not. Also they are together a year and don’t tell her mom about their relationship? They are possessive but somehow okay with an open relationship? This book had so many holes and bad writing it’s embarrassing
Amy is a firefighter that is promoted to a new firehouse. Her new co-workers Sparks, Christian and Angel are from the same firehouse and are promoted together. The guys are upset that the fourth in their group was not promoted with them. They also don’t think Amy is good enough. Amy is use to having to prove herself and goes to start getting to know the new group. As they learn to work together and get along, a serial arson starts to cause problems. Amy starts looking at clues and putting the pieces together. Amy gets caught when she goes to investigate a lead. Can the guys save her before its too late? A great story.

Amy has worked hard to make it in a male-dominated world of rugged and tough firefighters. She lands one of the most sought-after spots in Miami Firestation 47. However, in true alpha form, Christian, Angel, and Spark resent that she was chosen over their buddy. They go out of their way to exclude her. That is until she proves that she can hold her own on the job. Amy has one rule, don't get involved with people you work with, it can get messy. Of course, rules are made to be broken, and the heart and head are not always on the same page. The characters and storyline were well written. The drama and interaction between the characters were explosive. I would recommend this one!
