Saving the town of Rosewind from destruction and completing the nobles mission should have brought Theodor calm. Instead, it earned attention, a title, and three spoiled brats he was tasked to turn into proper adventurers.
Ravaged by constant hunger, Theo must increase his size, while using his avatar to keep a constant eye on his new “apprentices” as they face brigands, necromancers, a plague of cursed letters, and anything else life throws their way.
Book 2 in this new LitRPG by bestseller L. Eclaire, filled with humor, heart, lovable characters, dungeon core elements, stats, and everything lovers of LitRPG expect! Perfect for fans of Elemental Dungeon, The Divine Dungeon, and Delve.
A Polished, Absurd, and Addictive "Dungeon Core" Gem
The story follows a sentient dungeon that would rather take a nap than engage in typical activities like killing adventurers or expanding its reach. The Reluctant Dungeon is a wonderfully absurd ride that balances laugh-out-loud humor with solid world-building and a plot that is far more well-thought-out than the premise might suggest. It successfully blends the "unwilling hero" trope with GameLit, Isekai, and the Dungeon Core genre.
I was hooked from the start. The editing and proofreading are of a high standard, which is a rare and welcome find in this genre. This made for a seamless read that actually kept me up until 4 AM to finish. If you are looking for a humorous and creative take on LitRPG from a dungeon's point of view, give this one a chance. You won't regret it, and I am just relieved that I only have to wait two more days for the release of Book 3
This was a good follow-up to the first book in the series, but the cursed mansion was a little too drawn out for my liking. The junior adventurers weren't that helpful and he was seriously bidding experience points. I loved Spok getting a proposal, but she really didn't show much surprise or emotion. It'll be interesting to see how things turn out in book 3; especially since she's a spirit guide.
Its hard to maintain a Ludacris story line that doesn't unravel. Despite being in public I barked out loud with laughter startling those next to me. Shrugging off the disturbed looks and not bothering to explain i kept reading. Very funny story.
Epic action adventure Litrpg fantasy with plenty of humour and great characters. I really enjoyed the unexpected twists and turns, and magic and mayhem. Highly recommend.
