Rate this book
An office worker by day and a singer by night, Rose Larkin’s life is busy but unsatisfying. That all changes when she’s summoned against her will into a new world of magic.

Rose’s kidnappers need her unique voice for their dark scheme, a voice that takes on magical properties in the new world. She’s tossed into the hold of a fast schooner, intent on taking her to their paymaster. Their plans are interrupted by an even faster ship captained by the notorious pirate Marcellus Torvus, who steals her from her kidnappers.

The cunning captain navigates through storms and her stormy heart as he takes a keen interest in his new cargo. Rose’s only thought is to get back home, but as she spends more time with the pirate, she begins to learn that fate has a funny way of dropping you right where you need to be.

Now they just need to survive long enough to realize that destiny.

Enchanted Sea & Song reads like an adult fairytale wrapped in romance, danger, and sea‑sprayed magic. Rose Larkin, who initially appears to be a timid, unassuming singer, is kidnapped from her peaceful coastal city for a reason she doesn’t understand. But her journey at sea quickly reveals her true nature—brave, compassionate, and far more powerful than she ever imagined. Her voice isn’t just beautiful; it’s enchanted. It can summon storms, call down hail, heal wounds… and perhaps do much more. That makes her a target for pirates, thieves, and even a monstrous bull‑like creature with tentacles from a drifting island.
Fortunately, Rose isn’t alone. A talking lizard named Ramaro, fiercely protective and unexpectedly charming, becomes one of her most loyal allies. Aboard the pirate ship Tempest, she also finds an enigmatic captain, Marc Torvuss, whose gruff bravery just barely conceals a growing affection for her. His quest is not simply to safeguard Rose, but to uncover why she was taken from her home—and what ancient magic her voice might be tied to.
Their voyage brings them to Baba, a wise, maternal figure from Marc’s past who still cares for him deeply. And just when Rose believes she has seen all the wonders and secrets the sea holds, she discovers the truth behind Marc’s mysterious eye patch: beneath it lies the power of a dragon shifter, a side of him that could be her greatest protector—or the most dangerous revelation yet.
Altogether, the story becomes a whimsical, adventurous fairytale with pirates, magic, shifters, and a gentle thread of romance. It’s the kind of series perfect for unwinding, escaping reality, and diving into an enchanting seaside world.

These characters feel like a blend of classic fantasy archetypes and whimsical fairytale figures—but with more adult charm, humor, and danger.
Together, they give the story its warm heart and adventurous spirit.

"A man fighting for his life can be quite brutal. A man fighting for his crewmates can be a monster."

here's my thoughts in bullets points:
— the pirates x dragon crossover is such a unique combo of fantasy concepts
— it got me entertained being a quick read with light humor and i liked how fast paced it was
— the quick stops on the island and the town to meet friends and monsters was short but sweet even if they were being chased 😅
— the fmc is a water bender of ice crystals disguised as a singer like woah
— as for our charming one-eyed captain, he may seem arrogant but he's actually very charming
— the talking lizard, sorry agama, may have his anger issues but i found him more amusing than annoying 🤪
— the crew was lowkey rude to her at first but there was a full circle moment with a rose being a pirate yay
— all we get for spice is one kiss that came out of the blue but lots of flirting 😉
— there were some gaps or plot holes like what happened to the brother, pen the paper bird, etc.
— also could've given more backstory to rose's life in the real world as an office worker and singer before booting her to the fantasy world imo
— i think this my second pirate themed book and this isn't so bad 😌👍

True Original

I read a lot! Always have, and paranormal hijinks are my favorite. This, though? It is a true original. It does not fit any of the usual genres.

There is a lizard who is most definitely not a lizard, a heroine who now has some kind of magic, but it is an adventure itself to discover the first bits and pieces of it. The dragon? Not at all your typical shifter. This is a completely different universe, the world building is excellent, and best of all, Writer Flynn knows to show us this story and this world, instead of narrating it all.

The story is rich and layered, both the plot and the people. It is a culture rather like the lawless wild west, only there are pirates and seas instead of land and cowboys. The Admiralty is the supposed law, but something is truly off about their governance. There be monsters here as well, real monsters, not just the human monsters. These people value taking care of one another. There is so much that is unique here, but I admit my favotites are the magical paper birds.

Happy Reading!

Content: An occasional course word or two. There are no scenes of sexual intimacy, only some innuendos.

This was a nice well rounded fantasy romance. I enjoyed that it was an easy read, and a first for me being the first time I have read a pirate themed/based book.
