Words can hurt. Words can do all sorts of things to a persons mind: self doubt, low self esteem, self conscious, self hate, depression. It can change who you are and what you used to be. On the outside, Beth Winters is proper, stoic, chic, and beautiful, yet on the inside she is shy, hesitant, self conscious and deeply torn - torn from her abusive marriage - therefore, believing in herself again will take a very special man to help her find her way back.
Blaine Sullivan was physically abused as a kid; stepping out of line with his father always had him end up with a busted rib or a blow to the face. He wasn’t about to let the history of his abuse change who he was - he would better himself for his son, Joey, and be the father he deserved. Furthermore, finding a woman who would love him is something Blaine thought he could never achieve - until Beth ran into him.
Two abused souls, who discover each other on one unexpected night should bring them a happily ever after - yet will they be strong enough to get past their haunted memories and move forward with one another?
International Best Selling Author in the Rock Music category I'm a mother of two amazing kids, a lover of reading, watching tons of ridiculous TV shows, a passion in designing book covers and anything to do with designing on the computer. I have a love hate relationship with bread when going out to eat; a dreamer of exotic islands, would love to travel to faraway places, such as the Caribbean or Australia, and can be a bit crazy when it comes to Fireball Whiskey, but mainly, Margaritas are my go to drink.
I went into this not wanting to like Blaine. After book 2, I wanted Quinn to be Joey's "father" and didn't want Blaine in the picture....but I will be the first to admit, I am so glad that I was wrong. After hearing his back story, I can totally understand why Blaine did what he did, not that any excuse is acceptable, but I get it.
I hate to see this series end (I assume this is only a 3 book series) As a whole I really liked it. I can tell that the author really got into book 3 because it was even more in depth than book 1 and 2. However it had the same editing issues that 1 and 2 had. Lots of missing words, etc.
Loved Blaine and Beth. Was happy to see Quinn, Sandy, Matt and Shorty make small appearances so that we could see how their lives had progressed. I always love when the main characters from the series flow nicely into the next story.
This book was an emotional roller coaster ride. There was laughter, tears, heartache, fear, redemption and of course a wee bit of hot sexiness.
All in all, a great series. This can be read as a stand alone, but don't just read one....read all three (in order). It's worth it.
What an awesome book to finish out the Rain Series by T.J. West. I loved "Rain Street"! This is the third book in a series of standalones that weaves the couples together while still being separate books. Blaine is a high school English teacher that meets Beth at the local Starbuck's one day. He's attracted to her and her mom slips him her daughters number (gotta love mom for trying to help them out). Beth used to be a budding artist/ art teacher until she married her professor ex-husband, who destroyed her emotionally, physically, and made believe she had no talent.Blaine was abused growing up and thinks maybe he's not worthy of Beth. Can they restore each others faith in themselves and allow their love to grow, or will it be over before it begins?
This is the third book in this series and let be just started off by saying TJ West is just amazing. I love this book and I can't wait to see what she comes up with next. Ok now about the book. This book was amazing and it just goes to show that no matter what life throws at you, you can always overcome it with determination. Beth is smart, talented, and just a beautiful woman overall. She is also scared about dating anyone again after what she has been through but what woman wouldn't be. No I'm not going to tell you what and you may be able to guess but you'll just have to read the book to find out. Blaine you met in the second book PURPLE RAIN, he is Jory's father. He is sweet, funny, loving, and protective of those he loves. He also has a terrible past but has overcome it the best he can. Again I'm not saying anything that's just not fun and wouldn't be fair to you because this really is an amazing story. I highly recommend this entire series. if you haven't read the other books you really NEED to. This is a five star in my book and a great read. It will take you on a roller coaster ride. So go one-click you know you want to. :) HAPPY READING!!!!
Part of me did not want to read this book because it is the final in the series, but I could not wait to read more about these characters. This one did not disappoint and was a terrific addition to the series! Blaine and Beth have both been victims of different forms of abuse and their first meeting is not exactly perfect, but fate steps in again....with a little help from mom and brings them face to face again. It is so refreshing to read stories that feature characters that have pasts and that have faced problems but did not let those problems define them and moved past them to become stronger people. I loved catching up with characters from the other books in this series and wish there would be more stories about them in the future. I loved the interaction of Quinn and Blaine! I found myself chuckling throughout when they were in the same room! This whole series is one that I will not soon forget and will definitely be reading again in the future. I thought all three stories worked and fit together beautifully.
I got a copy of Rain Street by TJ West for an honest review... This book really shows the journey of the author. The first book in the Rain Series, November Rain, was great. The second book, Purple Rain was touching, sweet and great, but Rain Street tied them all together and made is just amazing. Beth is recovering from an abusive marriage. She moved to San Diego to get a fresh start and to be with her mom. Blaine was abused as a child and is still adjusting to knowing that he is a father. He moved to San Diego to develop a relationship with his son. One night their paths cross. This story is full of romance and laughter. It ties in characters from November Rain and Purple Rain. TJ West also brings back one of my all time favorite characters from any book and ties him in with the story to make it beyond sweet and touching. This is one series that that grows from book one. Rain Street is amazing and is a must read!
I received a copy of an ebook in exchange for my honest opinion.
I love this book. Beth is a strong woman who has gone through a lot in her life. Blaine had a bad childhood full of abuse from his own father. Will they overcome somethings so they can be happy together.
In this book, we learn about some of the other characters from the first 2 books. I love reading series because we sometimes find out what other characters from previous books are up to. I think I read about 4 surprises in this book.
I love that this book talked about Soul Mates. My favorite quote that Beth is thinking is "They inspire me to believe that anything is possible." (pg 58 Ebook) This book was amazing. I could not stop reading it. I highly recommend this book!
☆☆☆☆☆ I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. Would I recommend this book? Yes! Author? Yes! Would I read more from this author? Yes!
This would have to be TJ West's best work so far. I have read and loved each book previous to this but this book......This book just reached a whole other level. Thank you for writing a character like Beth. Finally a lead female that I completely adored flaws and all. I can't even begin to explain Blaine....Ugh read the book. God and you may need a fan because let me tell you there was a certain scene............yeah I'm not going to tell you lol Read the book!!!! (Several scenes actually) ;). I read this in one sitting and I was so caught up in the characters and the storyline that I ceased to exist in the real world. I was there........right next to the characters........in the book!! I was with them through the highs, lows and bite your nails moments. A thoroughly enjoyable, steamy and emotionally charged book!!
This was a wonderful story, well written, great cast of characters and very touching. Each story in this series could be read as a standalone even though the previous characters frequent the next book. This story tied them all together with a pretty bow. I really wanted to hate Blaine when I met him in Purple Rain but he did a wonderful job of making me find out he was a great guy. Both Blaine and Beth were broken from past abuse and I enjoyed watching them evolve as characters and a couple. This book showed true friendship and a bond between people that is very rare in this day and age. This was a great thought out storyline made into a truly remarkable series that should not be missed. You really should start from book 1 November Rain, so you get a better feel for the characters and it will make reading the next book so much more enjoyable.
This is the third book in the Rain Series and by far my favorite! I will be honest... I didn't jump to read this story because Blaine wasn't my favorite character the previous book. But getting deeper into his character in Rain street made me completely fall in love with him and Beth, Both have a dark past that they are fighting to leave behind them. Blaine was abused by his father; Beth by her ex-husband. One night their paths cross in a chance encounter. When they meet again they feel this undeniable pull towards one another. Their lives and paths are more deeply intertwined than even they realize. A definite MUST READ!!
I gotta admit that I sort of hated Blaine at first (at least from book 2), so I came in with preconceived notions about him. But Tiffany managed to blow all of those out the window. He's so much more than the guy who wasn't there for his kid. He has layer upon layers. And he's really a good guy underneath it all. And Beth...oh Beth. Poor, sweet Beth. She was dealt a shitty hand, and I truly felt sorry for her - her insecurities were heartbreaking, but Blaine helped her with it all. So happy for them. (Yes, I'm talking about them as if their real - that's what Tiffany does to you - she makes the characters come to life!). LOVED IT!
Ok so this one is my favorite of them all!! Blaine Sullivan has my heart! What a sweet and amazing man. He steps up and becomes the father he should be. Beth is broken but with the guidance of Blaine and all her family and friends she will become whole again. Joey you are amazing kiddo!!! I loved everything about this read. Great flow, awesome characters and they story line was brilliant. Loved it!!
I absolutely love this series and this book was really really another amazing read. I loved how the story was written and I love Blaine even more now. I got to read this book as an ARC-reader and I am so happy and grateful the author gave me this chance :-) This book is definitely worth the read, you'll love it.
Wow TJ West you really did it this time! Rain street was just excellent! Blaine and Beth story was toughing! They each show how you can trust and love again! Sweet, fun and sexy story! 5 stars very well deserved! Thank you for the opportunity to read an arc! In my top favorite if 2014!
Wonderful story of two people beaten down by life who find each other and struggle to be together. Wonderfully done by Ms. West again, great cap to the Rain Series.
This story got to me so deeply. Both characters have troubled pasts, but found each other and gave each other what they needed most: unconditional love and support.
This final in the series was good. I still liked the 2nd one best, though. It was good and if you read the first 2 then you definitely need to read the 3rd one.
