I received a ARC of Snow Flakes... Maybe because I stalked the author until she agreed.

Holy shit, K.E Taylor done it again!
I didn't want this novella to end.

Okay, so we went back to the beginning with Burnt Ashes. Before they got signed, and when they were called Snow Flakes.

Each of the band got their own chapter, some more than others because of the story that was being told.

I think this time around, K.E, wanted to give the other boys more of a voice, and she did just that.

Braden was alive, and it was nice to hear what he was thinking, though it kinda made me really say to know that he's now dead.

Sam, Sam, Sam. :( I felt for him so much in this novella... I really want to know more of his back story. K.E PLEASE do the boys their own novella? Pretty please? I just wanted to jump into the BA world, and take that baseball bat and ... Okay, I won't say anymore. Apart from, BRADEN & TREY! my heroes!

Speaking of Trey... I have a huge soft spot for him. He made me spit out my coffee... He is so freaking funny. I really enjoy his chapters because we just never know what he's going to do or say, it makes it really fun.

This can be read as a standalone, but I'd recommend buying Life After You, book one in the Burnt Ashes series. It's a full length novel, and K.E really knows how to throw a curve ball. I sobbed like a baby.

This should be on everyone's Christmas list. It's fun, somewhat sexy... I think. (Poor Logan! P.S He can search my closet any day.) And just a general feel good novella. Very well written.

Taking you back to the beginning of Burnt Ashes, welcome to Christmas in Vancouver.

When I found out that K. E. Taylor was planning on writing a Christmas Novella, I was SOOOO dam excited!

Snow Flakes is told in six different POV’s.

Yes six, but don’t let that put you off!

Snow Flakes is told in Chace, Sam, Trey, Braden, Logan & Mac's POV’s. Firstly I love Logan and Kayla (Mac) in the main Burnt Ashes story so it was really nice for them to kind of take a back seat and let the other guys shine. There is just something that I absolutely adore the Burnt Ashes guys. They are cheeky, brilliant, charming and downright dirty.

My favorite POV by far was Sam’s every single one of his chapters left me wanting to read more of him.

I majorly enjoyed everyone’s POV, I was howling with laughter again and again.

As always there was amazing one liners and movie references from the guys. You really do forget that these guys are written by a woman, K. E. Taylor writes these guys spot on so much that I’ve been starting to wonder..

Hmmmm… Maybe it’s

?

It was also nice to get a POV from Braden’s POV as obviously in the main story line he is dead, Snow Flakes takes you back to the beginning before the band was signed and before all the following events transpired.

Another thing that I really loved was actually how pretty the inside of this ebook looked! This novella is totally beautiful from the Snow Flake page dividers to the chapter headers, i never thought a ebook could look so dam pretty!

I so hope she continues to write more Novellas for the guys, and this has me even more excited for Holding Onto You, I NEED more Kayla & Logan, god I think I just need more Burnt Ashes as a whole!! I cannot pin point which scene was my favorite, i just thoroughly enjoyed every part of this book! I don’t want to give anything away. I sped through the book and it left me needed more.

Hey, erm K. E. Taylor

Fast, funny, flirty, sexy, witty, and just the right amount of serious - K.E. Taylor has done it again, and all you'll want to do once you're done with this novella is to pack your bags and go on tour with the band.

Are any of them accepting applications for bffs or girlfriends?
I volunteer, K.E. Taylor, I volunteer!!!

Snow Flakes - A Burnt Ashes Novella - takes us back to the days before the band was as big and successful as in Burnt Ashes. It grants us a closer look at the characters and shows us more of Braden, Mackayla's twin brother, whom we got curious about but unfortunately never really got to meet in the novel, due to his death prior to the happenings of Burnt Ashes. Not only does Snow Flakes however give us a glimpse of the band in its early stages, it also beautifully conveys just how close-knit its members are. They aren't just in a band together, aren't just best buddies... they are so much more than that - they are family that will stick together and up for each other no matter what.

Despite this being "only" a novella, each character gets a chapter (or two), and the reader gets to experience what's unfolding through the respective character's eyes, which add a lot of depth and allows the reader to emotionally connect to every part of the story.

Burnt Ashes and Snow Flakes were really promising reads, and I am sure that Taylor's next novels will be filled with just as much awesomeness, which will most likely have them end up amongst my top reads of the year!

Great Introduction!!

I love this group of dysfunctional misfits.. This is a very quick read... I was lost at first trying to keep up with who was who and which one was narrating the screen, so I found myself going back and re-reading a bit at first, but it all came together. This was a great introduction to these characters you get to learn a little about all them. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in the Burnt Ashes Series ..

So, this lovely festive novella gives us a brief glimpse at the "Snow Flakes" group members, but most importantly friends and family. At the particularly festive (or not-so-festive) time of year we see the friends coming together, getting s glimpse at their individual stories and where they all come from....

The boys; Logan, Braden, Sam, Trey and Chace are all typical young guys. But all have their hidden depth which I know we will read more about. But they are all hilarious in their own ways.

The girls, Mac/Kayla and Lola are the meaningful ones who stand by the guys and try to regain some normality amongst the chaos..,
--------
Except:
Maybe I can bring back some of the old good feelings for Christmas, instead of the old bitter and lonely ones that have been plaguing me for the longest time. This year, I have decided I want to focus on my brother and the band.
---------

But as family gets closer, and people let them down, they all end up where they are meant to be, and that's together. Laughing and joking about it all. But seeing the true meaning of their friendships amongst the holiday antics...
----------
Excerpt:
He’s right. We are a family. A f****d up one, sure, but we have each other’s backs when it counts. “I think we should also say thanks to Mac and Braden,” I say, raising my beer bottle. The others follow suit. “To Mac and Braden. Braden for opening his home and bringing us stragglers together.”
-----------

A fab short, festive read and I can't wait to read more and see where the few potential matchmakes could go ;)

Firstly I loved Life After You so much I was unsure how I would feel after reading what Logan was like before, but he didn’t disappoint. Snow Flakes is written before Burnt Ashes were Burnt Ashes, they could have been called anything, but I am glad they went with Burnt Ashes. There story is written from 6 points of view, Chace, Kayla, Braden, Sam, Trey and of course Logan. I thought it would get confusing but it was surprisingly easy to remember who was who. I was totally team Logan after Life After You but also the others didn't have the spotlight so it was nice to get to know them and now I am totally team Sam. He’s the kind of guy that the mothers want to mother and the daughters well.. I will leave that to your imagination. It was also nice to read what Braden was all about as he has already died in Life After You so it was interesting to read what he was like from his point of view and not what we are getting told he was like.

It is written beautifully yet again, I am still surprised that it is written by a woman as only one of the point of views was a female part.

Short, sweet, powerful, hilarious. It's everything that I love in a book and more.
This book has popped my cherry in two different ways, the first being that I have never read a book in more than two different point of views... Snow Flakes has six!!! But it totally works! It was genius!
Secondly, I have never read a book by K.E Taylor before and it certainly won't be my last.
What I loved most about this book is that it shows family isn't always blood. It can be dysfunctional, it can be filled with arguments, but it can also be filled with love, respect and friendship.
I would advise you all to read this short, festive read. 5 stars from me!

After reading LAY, I was so excited to read this and learn more about the characters past. I certainly wasn't disappointed!

I found myself smiling like an idiot for the majority of this book, discovering more about each individual character, in their POV! It was fantastic!
I hate spoilers, but I found myself being saddened occasionally by a particular POV! :'(
But, if a book makes me emotional and tearful, I know it's amazing!

I need more! Pleeeeease! Hehe.

Another 5* read, this author is definitely going places!!

Incredible novella, giving me more that I didn't know I wanted or needed. KE really sets the scene and I love the interactions with the characters and especially loved getting to know a little more of Brayden. Fantastic job and amazing story. I cannot wait for more Burnt Ashes and as soon as book 2 is out I'll be on it (like a car bonnet). Congrats on an amazing story and I expect big things from this author.

When I heard there was a "prequel" for the novel Life After You, and it was set around Christmas, I was excited. The characters from Burnt Ashes crack me up. This is a light-hearted novella with a lot of laughs along the way. If you've read Life After You, you have GOT to get this one to see what the guys were like before. If you HAVEN'T read Life After You, what are you waiting for? I can't wait to see what Ms. Taylor has in store for the guys next :).

I really enjoyed reading more about the other band members in this novella. The only complaint I have is that it ended too soon, I want more of the boys and Kayla, I don't think I will ever have enough of them.

Somehow I missed this and only now have gotten to read it after reading Life After You a few months back.. I LOVE this series and it was an awesome little glimpse back at how the guys got started. Was so nice to go back to this and actually get to be inside Bradon's head a bit too as he was already gone when I hard first started reading. Will surely be back for the rest of the series as I'll forever be a Burnt Ashes fan ;-)
