But beneath Jace's confident facade lies a labyrinth of hidden truths and deep-seated pain. As Lina finds herself drawn deeper into his complicated world, uncovering secrets that shatter everything she thought she knew, a powerful external force threatens to pull them apart forever. And the echoes they share might just hold the key to a devastating betrayal that spans generations.

'Echoes Between Us' is a rare gem of a debut that expertly weaves a beautiful and cute love story with a compelling plot ! The author's writing is delight, rich with emotion and vivid details that make you feel like you're right there with Lina and Jace. Honestly, there were moments that made me absolutely giggle and kick my feel with joy ✨️

The relationship between our FMC and MMC felt so pure and real despite all the misunderstandings and heartbreaks they face ! Absolutely adored the sweet bond between Lina and her father... and the heartwarming dynamic between Jace and his sister. These relationships add so much depth to the story.

This book is much more than a cute romance read, its a gripping tale that tackles themes like manipulation, betrayal, hope and trust with incredible grace.

This book has easily become my comfort read and I know I'll be coming back to it over and over again. It's an unforgettable read that linger in your mind long after you've finished it. My best wishes to this talented author who has done an incredible job !!💗

This isn’t just a love story—it’s a symphony of silence, sorrow and the people who either heal or haunt us.

Lina Mayhew lives in quiet defiance—books, solitude and a heart stitched with restraint. Jace Carter ,a magnetic, emotionally caged and drowning beneath the weight of expectation. His father’s control looms over him like a shadow - calculated and unyielding. His possession stir the mood of this entire story .Lina & Jace's connection is immediate but it’s not just romantic—it’s ancestral, aching and deeply felt.

Around them, a constellation of characters—Maya, Rhea, Liam, Noah, Marcus form the emotional scaffolding of the story. Their friendships are not filler; they’re lifelines. Chloe, Jace’s stepsister, is a quiet shield holding space for his grief when words fail. Her love is fierce, familial and grounding.

But not every presence is healing. Sarah enters like a shadow—manipulative, calculated and quietly corrosive. Her role adds tension and complexity, reminding us that not all echoes are kind. Some distort. Some deceive.

Lina’s bond with her father glows with tenderness—a rare portrayal of parental love that feels both grounding and transformative. It’s in these quieter moments that Ashley’s prose truly sings.

Echoes Between Us is a lyrical meditation on trauma, legacy and the kind of love that doesn’t just rescue—it reveals. It’s a novel that listens more than it speaks and when it does speak, it echoes.

For readers who crave ensemble warmth, emotional depth and a story where love, friendship and betrayal collide in haunting harmony—Echoes Between Us delivers more than just romance where every connection leaves a mark and every echo tells a story.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

"As I held him in my arms, I knew with a certainty that settled in my very bones , that I was finally, truly, home." -Lina

If you're looking for a real life experiences of a boy and a girl, you are in the right place. Just finished it and I'm feeling way over the moon. The author has succeeded in portraying the raw emotions,  which is perfect. The book healed something within me. The story explores love, past, longing, hope and so on.

Lina mayhew, our FL has her books, her favorite library, and her own world. She was a mess that no one cares to  notice. But then everything changes with the right person. She is one of the characters that I relate the most to who tells everything is fine when they're not, and always look out for others.

Jace Carter, the ML of the story. He's pictured as a rich, happy, popular kid. But deep down he's just similar to Lina. He's the one tries to run away from problems without facing them. He's actually a puppet who is in control of his selfish father.

Together they creates a love story of their own. Jace with Lina was something so pure, unconditional and perfect. They bring comfort to each other. And their story continues...

This novel doesn’t shout — it hums.
The romance unfolds gently, with the softness of real connection, and just beneath it, a thread of mystery pulls you along, subtle but captivating.

It’s a story of moments — shared glances, unsaid truths, and the slow unraveling of secrets.
Simple, sincere, and quietly compelling.

Sometimes, the most tender stories are the ones that linger the longest.
This is one of them.

This is a captivating story of love between two teens who have an undeniable pull but no understanding why, a past, an echo of something long forgotten reuniting them to answer the call, find the truth and follow the song in their heart and mind.
When the unpopular, sick Lina catches his laugh, she is frozen in the shadows to the life around her and when her polar opposite Jace looks into her eyes, he is held captive to the storms inside her eyes. When a almost comical cosmic intervention has them sharing a seat (several times) they come to realize there is an echo, a string - a feeling that's familiar. That feels like home. Jace being closed off, wearing the mask of a carefree guy, can't shake his need to be near Lina and acts out of character to have her. He needs her and little does Lina know, she needs him too. Both with their own family dynamic troubles leaving them both motherless, they find a warmth within each other. But the evil that lurks over Jace comes rushing in to snuff out the flames between them, bringing Lina and her health once again crashing down. Confused but honoring the request of distance has them both in turmoil and broken once again; leaving them to return to their former selves - a shell of the life before and after their collision making things intensely unbearable. Jace doesn't give up and one chance night has him putting the pieces of the shattered life they once shared together and realize that they were both victim to the cruelty of blood. Together, they forge forward for answers, chasing the echoes that reverbate through their very beings and getting more than they bargained for. Unveiling answers that not only fills the cracks repairing the damage but also refortifying their heart for their lost history and the new story to come. Despite the pain, the revelation provided an ending to the unanswered ache that haunted both of them, broke them.
No one is perfect and despite being so young, this author was able to capture the rareness of self awareness that can reside in young teens that come with trauma, abandonment and closing ourselves off to protect ourselves. Humanizing that not every teen is granted the perfect high school experience. That not all families need to be complete to be whole and magnifying that some go through fires they never should have at such a young age. I loved the concept, the twists and turn of events gives YA romance a whole new game!
An author to be on the lookout for sure!

🌸 My Review of Echoes Between Us by Ashley 🌸

I just finished reading Echoes Between Us: Some memories are too powerful to forget and OMG, this book was such an emotional rollercoaster. From the very first pages, I felt myself getting pulled into Lina and Jace’s world.

Lina is this introverted, quiet girl — her own dad calls her a “little hermit” because she’d rather stay in her bubble than socialize. I related so much to how she feels safer in solitude. Then comes Jace Carter, the complete opposite. He’s loud, charismatic, and so extroverted on the outside, but deep inside he’s fighting storms no one can see. That hit me hard because I’m like that too — sometimes being loud is just a way to silence the noise inside.

What I loved the most is how emotional this story is. Lina constantly feels like she knows Jace, like there’s a missing memory haunting her. That thread of recognition-without-remembering gave the plot such a mysterious and unexpected edge. I honestly didn’t see where it was going, and that’s what kept me hooked.

And then, Jace. 🥺😭 The way he protects Lina, the way he chooses her despite all his past baggage — my heart couldn’t handle it. Their first kiss had me literally blushing and kicking my feet, it was so beautifully written. And when Jace broke his own rule of solitude during travel just because he wanted Lina by his side? Ugh, that’s love. It’s always about the exception you make. 💜

What made me fall for Jace Carter completely were the little things — the way he claimed her in front of everyone, how he never gave up on love, and those gestures that scream boyfriend goals. Like bringing purple tulips (my favorite too!) and baking a chocolate cake. I swear, I need a Jace Carter in my life.

The plot was also surprisingly deep and layered. It wasn’t just a romance, it was about memories, fate, healing, and fighting for the person you love no matter what. Unexpected, emotional, and unforgettable.

✨ In short: Echoes Between Us isn’t just a love story, it’s a story about finding the one person who quiets the storm inside you. And for me, it was absolutely perfect.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (blushing, crying, and smiling all at once)

Just finished Echoes Between Us and wow… this book really did something to me. It’s not just a love story—it’s raw, emotional, and a little haunting in the best way.

Lina felt so real—the quiet, book-loving girl who hides her mess behind an “I’m fine” mask. I related to her so much, especially the way she carried her world silently until someone finally saw her. And then there’s Jace—the golden boy, the one who seems to have it all, but behind the charm and confidence, he’s just as broken, just as lost.

What I loved most was how they weren’t “perfect people” suddenly falling in love. They were flawed, scarred, carrying secrets—but somehow, together, they found something healing, something that felt like home. The whole “echoes” part, the strange familiarity between them, gave me chills. It’s like their souls had been waiting for this moment.

This isn’t just a romance, it’s about love, pain, hidden histories, and the kind of connection you can’t explain but also can’t walk away from. It’s intense, emotional, and honestly, it stayed with me even after I turned the last page.

If you’re into heartfelt, slightly mysterious, deeply emotional love stories—this one’s going to leave an echo in you too.

⭐️ 4/5 — tender, mysterious and unforgettable 🫶🏻

Echoes Between Us follows Lina, an introverted girl who prefers solitude and Jace Carter, the new popular boy who seems like her complete opposite. But beneath his loud, confident exterior lies someone quietly broken. When their paths cross, Lina feels an odd sense of familiarity as if she’s known him before. What begins as accidental meetings soon turns into a journey of rediscovering lost memories, uncovering family secrets and healing from pain that connects them in ways they never imagined.

I really liked how the story began, Jace’s nonchalant, carefree behavior slowly turning into genuine care for Lina felt natural and heartwarming. The emotional build-up and their connection rooted in past tragedy made the romance even deeper. Though the hospital scene felt a bit over-explained and could’ve been shorter, the story overall balanced romance, mystery, and fate beautifully. It’s not just a love story; it’s about grief, healing, and finding the one person who quiets the storm inside you.

This isn't just a swoon worthy story of Jace and Lina but much more than that. Initially I felt it was as normal as other school romance trope. But this stood out different.

This is story of Jace, a teenager, who's mum left him while he was little one in the hands of a heartless father.
On other hand there's Lina, a soft hearted who loves solitude and finds her solace in loneliness and books. She is raised by single father.

Lina secretly hates Jace, but universe has different plans. They have something in common that connects them..There's this school romance, heroic activities and stolen kisses that will make you swoon and at the same time there's this quest and search of their life and reason behind the secrets held.

I recommend this novel to the one who's in search of their self identity. This does heal you, helps you understand and pause and enjoy. 🌼✨️

Echoes Between Us by Ashley 4/5 star book review

The characters in this book are amazing, each one has such depth and complexity.

I was particularly drawn to the medical aspects of Lina's life and how Jace supports her every step of the way.
Even the little things, like the purple tulips, were thoughtful touches 🤭.
And the scene where Jace calls in his favor? Absolutely perfect. The way he cares for her is beautiful.

I loved the suspenseful final chapters as they unraveled the mystery of the "echo", and the letters they found were so touching yet a crazy plot twist.

The character development throughout was flawless. A truly great read.

Okay, seriously, "Echoes Between Us" by Ashley? Blown away! This isn't your typical romance novel – it's got so many twists and turns that it just grabs you and doesn't let go. I literally finished it in two days because I couldn't put it down!

It's got all the good stuff: romance, heartbreak, drama, but there's this amazing surprise at the end that totally sealed the deal for me. You just have to read it.

Big congrats to Ashley on an incredible debut! It's truly something special.

Echoes Between Us isn't your regular romance novel. It's a tender, pure love story with lots twists and turns. I loved the way Jace and Lina's story played out; they aren't perfect in any way, shape, or form, but rather two fragmented halves that fit together perfectly. I loved Lina's strong headed, quiet personality and I related to her a lot. I loved seeing the dynamic between Lina's father and Jace as well. And Jace? The YEARNING?? I was screaming. A man that yearns earns and Jace Carter is the embodiment of that. This book was extremely well written, and I swear there was a movie playing out in my head every time I turned a page. Thank you so much Ashley for sending me a copy of Echoes Between Us in exchange for my honest review! I can't wait to see what other amazing things you will accomplish.
