Josephine Jones goes to Italy

Josephine Jones goes to Italy.A laugh out loud romantic misadventure.

Josephine Octavia Jones has officially had it with the UK. The weather’s grim, the men are worse, and thanks to a new team leader, Damian, her job at the sausage factory is no more, so she does what any sensible woman would do and drives to Italy in search of happiness, Prosecco, and a new life in the sun.

But fate has other ideas, as Valerie her car breaks down in a suspiciously charming village where not all is what it seems.
There are some shifty looking locals and some dodgy going’s on as she’s surrounded by criminal activity and one very ridiculously handsome estate agent that definitely has other ideas and might be selling more than just houses.

Settling into village life is challenging, to say the very least as she settles into cultural chaos, unexpected friendships, and highly questionable wares that the church is selling, she just might find what she didn’t know what she was looking for!

Warm, wickedly funny, and wildly unpredictable— perfect for fans of laugh out loud moments and romantic comedies with a criminal twist.

This story takes me on a hard yet inspiring journey filled with struggle, determination, and hope. The cover immediately captures attention and perfectly matches the tone of the story. At first, I found it a bit difficult to understand, but as I kept reading, the plot slowly unfolded and drew me in completely—as if I were living through the experiences myself. The suspense kept me turning the pages, eager to know what would happen next. It’s a well-written, emotionally engaging story that stays with you long after you finish reading.

Josephine Jones is a middle-aged woman with the absolute worst luck imaginable — and I couldn’t get enough of her misadventures! 😂 If something can go wrong, it will go wrong for Josephine… in the most hilarious ways possible. I found myself laughing out loud more times than I can count as one chaotic situation led to another.
After one too many disasters, Josephine makes a spontaneous move to Italy 🇮🇹, and that’s where the magic truly begins. The author paints such a vivid picture of the charming little neighborhood Josephine moves into — I genuinely felt like I was part of the community. Each quirky neighbor adds to the fun, and together they create this tight-knit, slightly outrageous (and sometimes a bit sketchy 😅) family that looks out for one another no matter what.
Add a sprinkle of romance 💕 and you’ve got the perfect feel-good romantic comedy — one that will have you laughing, shaking your head, and wondering, “What else could possibly go wrong?”
Thank you, Angela Anton, for such a heartwarming, laugh-out-loud story that made me wish I could pack my bags and join Josephine in Italy! ❤️🍷🍝

I need to preface this review with the disclosure that I do not care for slapstick. I have no patience for it on the screen, and I don't enjoy it in writing either. This book is essentially a slapstick take on "Eat, Pray, Love". People who enjoy humor, especially of that nature (body parts, sexual innuendo, pianos falling on people's heads, etc), would very likely love this book. I'm not the proper audience for it. The characters are fully developed and there is a definite plot arc; moreover, you get a view of life in small town Italy (leaving the exaggerations for the sake of comedy aside), and that's why I gave it three stars. The writing is of good quality.

Josephine Jones packs up and leaves her typical British estate to find adventure in Italy - and sure does she find it! Expect plenty of Prosecco, narcotics and innuendos as Josephine navigates life in a tiny Italian village filled with interesting characters.
This book is silly, fast-paced and cheesy. I didn't expect it to be such a page-turner, but I couldn't wait to find out what awaited Josphine next. The description of her town in England at the beginning was so spot on, it made me a little nostalgic for my home country!

Josephine Jones Goes To Italy is a joyful and energetic romantic comedy with a dose of mischief and madness which will make you smile. Josie quits her job in the UK and moves to Italy where she finds herself caught in a whirlwind of cultural misunderstandings, questionable wares being sold by the local church, and an entire village involved in low-level crime. The chaos deepens as she encounters a handsome real estate agent who is clearly selling more than just houses. A delightful laugh-out-loud comedy with lots of charm and plenty of Prosecco.

Josephine Jones and her gloriously chaotic adventure to Italy. Josie is the kind of heroine you root for – funny, relatable, and just a little bit accident-prone. Her misadventures had me laughing out loud, from the car breakdown in the middle of nowhere to her run-ins with charming (and suspicious) locals.

The writing is so vivid I felt like I was right there in the sun-soaked piazzas, sipping cappuccinos and people-watching. The humor is sharp, the romance is just the right amount of swoon, and the quirky cast of characters kept me grinning until the end.

If you love Bridget Jones, Under the Tuscan Sun, or just a good dose of escapist fun, this book is a must-read. I’m already hoping for a sequel because I’m not ready to say goodbye to Josie!
