Ever since my most recent breakup with my long-time on and off girlfriend, I’ve been surly and grumpy. Even the prospect of opening up a tattoo parlor and getting to lay ink again doesn’t hold the allure it once did, although the three little girls who are now club princesses do have me smiling a bit more. Still, my heart is encased in ice now after Rosa, and I wonder if I’ll ever have what my brothers have started to find—a woman who loves all of them, not just certain aspects.
When Phoebe walks in and drops the bombshell of a lifetime in my lap, I realize that my life has irrevocably changed for the better and I vow to be the best father possible to my daughter. The biggest question I have, however, is will Phoebe join me for the ride of our lives?
Phoebe
As a nurse, I’ve dealt with life and death situations on a pretty consistent basis, but I’ve never had to perform CPR on a family member while her infant daughter was nearby. Quite honestly, I never want to do it again, so there’s that to consider. Even knowing what the outcome was going to be, I’m still sad that a little girl will grow up without her mother. But now, her father can meet the daughter he never knew he had, and all I can do is hope he’ll still let me see her from time to time.
Walking into the Steel Raiders MC clubhouse was harder than I anticipated. I know I’m doing the right thing by informing Cami’s father of her existence, but I’ve helped raise her and I’m going to miss her terribly. So, instead of waiting around, I basically drop her off and run, only I don’t get very far as my emotions take over once I’m through the clubhouse gates.
Two souls looking for love—will they find it with each other and raise the little girl they both love to pieces?
Lover of words. Author of "perfectly imperfect romance". Since starting this journey in August 2016, I've published eight books, two children's books, and have been part of two different coloring books. In short, I'm fulfilling a lifelong dream and would love to have you join me!
Prophet got quite the surprise in this one. I liked how despite the surprise, he was happy for it and didn't hold things against Phoebe, who was having her heart break due to what she had to give up. I liked that Prophet didn't push Phoebe away, but found a way to keep her in his life. I'm intrigued by how this one ended. Loved that Phoebe was able to save the day, hope Prophet gets his interesting through to her.
Wasn't one of her better books. I usually buy all her books. Had I known this ended in a cliffhanger I would never have purchased it. The story was ok but it.moved way too fast. They knew each other a few weeks and had major feelings for each other?! Won't be purchasing the next book
I am so disappointed. Just when the book starts to get really interesting, the author ends it abruptly. Saying the rest of the story will be out in a few months. If I knew that in advance, I would have waited to read this book.
.....what a lovely surprise with this novel.... ! I was quite prepared to "get into" this book and before I knew what hit me, I had been taken in a completely different direction and loved every minute; every sentence and every description of this superb, complex, stimulating piece has already transported me as an 'extra' to the action ! So looking forward to the next instalment !!!
I really enjoyed this book… right up until I reached the end and realized it wasn’t actually the end of the story.
Just when things were starting to get really interesting—when you can clearly feel that something unexpected is about to happen—it suddenly stops. And you’re left having to wait for the next book. If I had known this beforehand, I honestly would’ve waited until the next installment was out so I could read the story in one go.
That said, I did still enjoy my time with this book. The characters were engaging, the premise was interesting, and overall it was a pleasant read. I just wish the story had been complete, because it had the potential to be even better.
This novella is Prophet and Phoebe’s story. Prophet has a daughter he didn’t know about and Phoebe has been trying to get Rosa (the mom) to tell him e That he had a daughter. Rosa commits sucked because she was diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer. Phoebe takes Cami to her father. She is still able to see Cami and things progress from there. We are left hanging to see if Prophet and Phoebe get there HEA.
I love this MC and the men that are a part of it. More children in this club is definitely never a bad thing. I’m sorry for Prophet and the way things came about but I guess things happen for a reason. And this did bring Prophet and Phoebe together. I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing their relationship grow and them getting to know each other. I’m very anxious for the next book!
Basically a prequel to the actual book. The characters and storyline are both good. This was more of what leads up to meeting and getting to know the background on everyone. Waiting for the next part.
Phoebe and Prophet start out as friends. Prophet is traumatised finding out he’s a Dad. He actually does very well and apart from a few hiccups manages his new reality. I can’t believe this ended on a cliffhanger. Please write faster Darlene.
the story was fast paced and I really enjoyed it ...... now for the part I hated ....just as it was getting really interesting it ended on a cliffhanger and the next book wont be out for months. not sure I will be bothered in getting the next one.
Love, love, love the story of Phoebe & Eli!! He’s just the perfect guy; tough yet tender. And she’s an angel in scrubs. I can’t wait for the rest of their story!
I have enjoyed reading about this MC and the women the men are finding to spend the rest of their lives with. Can not wait to get the rest of their story.
Awesome book but I wish I had known ahead of time it was a part 1. I would have waited until part 2 was published before starting. I hate cliffhangers.
