Lucas has a lot on his plate, looking out for his mother and sisters, and paying off an old loan from his wedding that didn't happen. When the sale of the century presents itself at the real estate agency he works for, he finds himself reluctantly agreeing to work with his nemesis, Andrew. However, when Andrew inadvertently makes their clients think they're a couple, Lucas can neither find a way out of the lie nor any idea of how he's supposed to live it. The man is an antagonizing menace.
How their clients actually believe they're into each other is beyond him. It's just some hand holding...until it isn't. It starts to look like more than just a commission is on the line because the longer Lucas fakes being Andrew's boyfriend, the more he finds himself wanting to know where the fake Andrew ends and the real Andrew begins.
This book was awful, it was cringey, and it made me all types of uncomfortable. I was hating it by 35% but still had hopes it would get better, after all, I loved Until I Saw You. Silly me, I should have DNF'd then and there, here is my chaotic review, I don’t even know where to begin, it was all kinds of dumb.
For starters, the premise is absurd. It seems that when you are a millionaire throuple and want to buy: an island in the Caribbean, a beach mansion in Massachusetts, and acres of land in the bush in Australia, in Darwin, mind you. The obvious thing to do is go to a luxury real estate agency in North Carolina in the US (?).
Then, somehow, the real estate agency will not only show the properties but also (for plot reasons)be a part of the throuple's honeymoon; they also have to be travel coordinators, bellboys, valets, plane and ship operators, cheff and chauffeurs. How does that make sense? Why is there no more staff to arrange all these activities, and instead, there are two guys who hate each other in charge of that?
It seems the author went to great lengths to have a bi-awakening moment; the one bed only wasn’t enough, we also had to have one MC not being able to differentiate his own dick from someone else’s and having him grab it ALL mornings, have the clients randomly open the door to your room without knocking, causing them to have to cuddle unnecessarily, why are there no locks in all these luxury properties? What happened with professional boundaries and personal space? Why is ok for your clients to go into your room whenever they want?
As for the actual relationship between Andrew and Lucas. Andrew was a completely superficial, despicable, spoiled dick for 80% of the book. He bullied and belittled Lucas for no other reason than the fact that he felt superior to him. He made fun of his personality, his intelligence, his background, his body, his face, his smell, basically everything that made it impossible to believe he desired him/fell in love with him in any way. I guess I could be made to believe that Andrew realized how amazing Lucas is and how all his previous preconceipt asusmptions were stupid, but really, after complaining about everything Lucas for so long, it just didn't make sense.
And for Lucas, I don’t know how, for all the reasons mentioned above, I’m supposed to believe Andrew made anything remotely special for Lucas to fall in love with him or at least forgive him for how horrible he treated him for the majority of the book.
The plot wants me to believe they fell in love in 3 weeks they were together, but I just don't buy it. I really think Lucas deserved better.
Andrew being such a dedicated morning cock stroker that he just strokes whichever cock is within stroking distance once it's morning hours EVEN IF IT'S NOT HIS is a top two most ridiculous things an author has ever devised as a way to get the 'straight' MCs touching and it's NOT #2.
There's just no way😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂like whichever way you look at it, it's closer for him to get to his own dick than to do a reach around and get past Lucas' butt, waist, THEN his cock.
I love an incredulous premise as much as the next girl but this is extreme.
'I can describe the rush I just got from him making sex noises for me. It must be a divide-and-conquer thing, slaying the enemy…with his own dick. '
Uh huh. Very straight war strategy, that.
Anyway. This was kinda nice in spite of the contortionist tendencies employed to get the two MCs touching.
And it has a double bi-awakening, although there's near zero acknowledgement of that aspect, so it may as well have not been.
I was a bit put off by Andrew's comments about Lucas' body and general persona, though. Especially at the start. The incessant references to him being a hick, a lug, sweaty hairy man meat weren't endearing, especially because he meant them to be derogatory. And he kept at it so much I was surprised he didn't give Lucas a complex.
Like, what do you want that man to do about being hairy? Saying his pubic hair is tufty and looks indecent in his tighty whities.
Sigh.
AND I CAN'T BELIEVE HE THOUGHT IT WAS OKAY TO CALL THAT MAN 'TUFTY' GOING FORWARD. 😂😂😂😂😂
C'mon man.
All's well that ends well, though (maybe?) because he did end up being a hairy hole rimming enthusiast, so.
Still, while I fully understand why Andrew would fall for Lucas, I don't see why Lucas would reciprocate.
Andrew's a dick for a big part of this, so it's inexplicable. Unless it's the whole body betrayal thing where Lucas kept losing his mind whenever Andrew touched him. That would explain it.
To be fair, it was fun to watch Lucas finally get tired of the dynamic and leave Andrew scrambling to win him over, so maybe that part makes up a bit for Andrew being a pill in the first half?
I warmed to him a bit by the end. It really helped that once he was in it, he was IN it, no waffling about.
Still. Somehow my favorite part of this was Terry's revenge. So, so satisfying. And very well deserved.
Oh, and the Broadhouse family drama because wdym your daddy fucked your mom's brother and then tried to kiss him at his wedding to your mom and that's why she's been a cold fish to him all their married lives?
I really could not see how these enemies could become lovers. They really hated each other so very much. Not surprising too because Andrew was such a douche. But if that wasn’t enough to make me wonder, Andrew didn’t just hate Lucas, he was actually disgusted by him. As in, looking at Lucas made Andrew gag. I love a Dianna Roman Rom-Com. And this was okay, though what really surprised me was watching these two guys fall in lust and then love with each other. And the sex scenes were INCREDIBLE!! I am actually flabbergasted. How did that happen?

I received an advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.
I cannot even tell you how much this book sucked. 1.5⭐
Not only were almost all the characters obnoxious with Andrew leading the pack, but it took 300 pages and the chemistry was still nowhere to be found.
🟣 Coworkers and rivals to lovers 🟡 Luxury real estate agents 🟢 Double bi-awakening (or more like double gfy) 🟣 Age gap 35/37 🔵 Fake boyfriends 🟠 Almost every chapter will make you gag, be warned 🌶️ Sex scenes were good, I'll give it that, but in the end it couldn't save the story; rimming, some oral, penetrative (one scene on-page); t/b
Andrew and Lucas are rivals at Andrew’s uncle’s real estate agency, now working together to make a major deal with a famous gay throuple. To land it, they fake a relationship and travel around the world with them for a month.
Andrew is one of the most obnoxious characters I’ve ever read, and I’ve read plenty. He’s an arrogant, superficial idiot, and while I don’t mind flawed characters, I mean, go ahead, you do you, but he’s here as the romantic lead, and in that role, he completely and utterly fails.
Andrew constantly belittles and humiliates Lucas, who’s a vet, he's a tall, buff, apparently very hairy, attractive guy that's serious, has a big heart and is interested in long-term relationships, so a full package. I don't know why he was represented as this gaping, feeling mess all the time, suddenly submissive to that dickwad Andrew.
Despite all the places they visit and everything they experience, Lucas is always in the background while the author is giving Andrew the lead, all the time. Lucas is a knowledgeable, capable, accommodating guy, yet I was forced to read Andrew’s endless inner monologues and stupid jokes. In the middle of all this mess, you’re somehow expected to believe they’re passionately falling into lust and love.
"Fuck this. I’m hot. It’s not my fault he doesn’t know how to manscape or dress himself when there’s clients around."
"Someone please tell me why he’s dropping his hands now? What a slut!"
"It’s okay for the guys to see his Chia Pet, but not me, his own fake boyfriend? That’s some bullshit."
So, Lucas had all the body hair and a lot of groin hair and chia pet was his dick in this story. Instead of making his body hair delicious and inviting, it's ridiculed.
These guys aren't falling for each other. Even the hot sex was pointless because they didn't milk it as much, and they definitely didn't fall in love.
"I think I used to hate him because, while physically he portrayed this big, tough image on the outside, he always looked kind of pathetic. Like a man who never got what he wanted, nor knew how to."
Andrew is a spoiled brat who barely develops throughout the story, unless you count buying a cowboy hat and showing up uninvited to Lucas’s sister’s wedding to “save the day” as character growth. It’s not. He stays a jerk and this love story is just awkward. Painfully awkward and definitely not believable.
"I’ve never found one person to be so copacetic with."
"I know without even looking that it’s my very non- copacetic fake boyfriend."
All the things you expect to happen in this story, simply don’t happen. Like Lucas finds out that one of the throuple’s husbands is his survivalist TV idol, yet this gets almost no page time. Considering Lucas is a vet, I expected them to do something together, talk more, that the trip will be more like that, but no.
Lucas doesn’t attend Andrew’s Fourth of July parents’ party. Andrew isn’t invited to the wedding. They don’t spend time with the cousin and his husband. Basically, nothing you'd expect happens.
We also get so many side characters who jump in and steal page time, all of it completely unnecessary.
3.5⭐️ This book was so weird… but I didn’t hate it. The plot was chaotic and the scenes felt random, choppy, and disjointed at times. Lucas and Andrew are real estate agents, showing a throuple (odd choice) around the world, so one moment they’re on a New England island and the next chapter, they’re in the Australian outback. And the settings felt like very convenient and “trope-y” setups for cliche romance moments she wanted to squeeze in.
But… there were some enjoyable moments. Andrew hates Lucas, and is even physically disgusted by him… which we don’t see in this genre often, so I had to keep reading to see how his bi-awakening would unfold. And the intimacy between them was surprisingly enjoyable. Overall, it was cute. Weird, awkward, and cute.
Okay, apparently I have a soft spot for Dianna Roman’s humor; I feel she’s one of the few MM authors who truly gets comedy, and this book was no exception. Contingently Yours reads as if Roman pointed a camera at two real-estate agents who can’t stand each other and then told fate, “work your magic, BUT keep the sarcasm.” From the first chapters you already smell the rom-com air, and she really makes it work without ever becoming cringe (I think? at least I don’t remember anything super awkward xD). I know some reviews say the book starts slow, but I didn’t feel that way; the comedy keeps on comeding for almost (or all) of the story, and that keeps the pace light and easy.
What I liked the most was that sharp tone Roman has: the banter is funny, the way the characters think is funny, the way they act, funny… xD. Honestly, each character is crazier than the next(except Lucas—bless him). Andrew, oh my God, what an unbearable guy; I honestly didn’t think I’d end up liking him, especially since halfway through he still had a lot to improve. But I feel he redeems himself… thankfully, because what an annoying man he was! That inner journey from hateful to vulnerable really showcases Roman ability as a writer.
Although the chemistry between Andrew and Lucas is visible and palpable, I must admit the hop from hate to love felt a bit sudden; I missed a middle step that would have made the turn totally believable. Still, I forgive it because the ride is fun, plus, personally, most “hate-to-love” books don’t quite convince me on that front anyway.
So, if you’re looking for angst or existential drama, this isn’t the place; but if you want to laugh while reading about sharp-edged leads who actually grow, a bunch of WTF side-characters, and a simple love story, you'll probably enjoy it.
****** 4.3 stars God bless Dianna Roman, Queen of MM Romcom💕🙌 Had so much fun reading this one. RTC
Fantastic enemies to lovers MM romance, with fake dating, bisexual awakening, forced proximity, only one bed, and two hapless, hopeless MCs who are obliviously and hilariously perfect for one another.
Nope! DNF 20% Drew is suuuuuuuch an egotistical, lying, nepo baby. The entire premise is gross: you do not put on a sexual identity like a Halloween costume. I'm sure the bisexuality revelation will come to fruition and good on them, but it just feels icky. The idea is, "let's be gay as a lark! And then plan on disavowing it!" Like blood hasn't been spilled for gay liberation for millennia. Yippee! 😠
Lucas and Andrew are island real estate agents at odds with one another, until they have to do a job together. Both men want to earn the commission and need to learn how to work together in a civil manner. One things leads to another, and the pair suddenly become fake boyfriends. These two really get under one another’s skin, so it’s absolutely thrilling watching them come to terms with their newfound attraction and admiration of one another.
There’s a lot of sass and snark in this book, but there’s also a lot of heart too. I laughed out loud a few times and definitely felt the swoon as Lucas and Andrew opened up to one another. Their vulnerability is just as appealing as their chemistry. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the enemies-to-lovers aspect is *chef’s kiss.* Lucas is an absolute doll and Andrew is an acquired taste, but I really enjoy the bond they form once Andrew lets his realness show. It’s really heartwarming how Lucas sees his layers.
Terry and Shaw are great side characters. There are some revelations about other characters that are jaw dropping in this story. This book is a fun read that will engross you from the beginning to the end. You should definitely check it out. Roman will have you rooting for Lucas and Andrew’s HEA in no time!
4⭐️ If i’d have been in a different mood i’d have DNF’d it, I think. But if you’re in a mood for some very lighthearted foolishness? Then this book is great. It’s not serious, it’s not deep. Drew is obnoxious and kinda stupid, but also not. Lucas is a teddy bear who had to take on too much responsibility and to learn to accept all the shit life gives him.
It’s said to be an enemies to lovers romcom and it totally is. Just a nice easy time, nothing more, nothing less.
I hate when books labeled as romcoms don’t make me laugh at all, but thankfully that wasn’t the case here at all! The dialogue was so funny and the characters were all really endearing. While I can’t speak from personal experience, it seems to me like this bi-awakening had a logical progression and came across as really believable. Sometimes you just need a light-hearted, sweet story to read, and this is that!
Awwww gosh! Lucas and Drew… seriously I love them to infinity. Lucas must be protected at all costs and Drew such a prickly numpty but damn if you don’t see his soft heart peeking through all the time. Also these nicknames- Tufty 🤣🤣!
This book is 50% Drew snark and 100% swoon and 50% Lucas love. No emotions don’t add up and I won’t be changing those numbers .
The antagonism between these two is so brilliantly done - fantastic rivals to lovers, chefs kiss and their attraction to each other and the way it sneaks up on them hehehehe so illicit and so hot! Also did I mention it’s fake dating, one bed, forced proximity in the vicinity of a honeymooning throuple - if I’ve missed the Hepperlys book please point me to to it. If not, could I make a small request?
If you wanna laugh, swoon, sigh, fan yourself (cause things get extra spicy) feel the found family (I mean Shaw and Terry are family and The Hepperlys pitch in but you get my drift) for the sake of all that is holy read this - you will not be able to put it down! Love Drewcas!
Contingently Yours by Dianna Roman was a funny sweet rom-com that I really enjoyed. Lucas and Andrew work together in a real estate office and absolutely hate each other. In fact, Lucas once punched Andrew out over a listing (though I can’t argue that Andrew didn't deserve it- lol). When they are forced to work together to show the world’s most famous throuple several properties over a month, things begin to happen that are unexpected. Not going to lie, Andrew got on my nerves for a good portion of the book, so I can completely understand why he drove Lucas crazy. But there was more to him than meets the eye and it was so fascinating to watch these two learn about each other and realize that their preconceived notions were not always accurate. I really, really hope that we can get some stories for the throuple and Andrew’s cousin and husband. I was fascinated by these side characters and would love to see how they fell in love. Dianna always gives me a great story that I cannot put down and that I thoroughly enjoy. I am fascinated by how she writes such different stories, but I love each one. I look forward to what she gives us next.
I received an ARC from the author for my honest review
♾️♾️♾️♾️♾️ infinity stars! Another absolutely stunning book from this author. Loooooove Andrew and Lucas. Best spin on the fake boyfriend trope I’ve read to date. I could have read a 1000 pages more of these two 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Yes, so happy to read another Dianna book and it's full of her usual snark, humour, steam and sweetness and had me hooked from the start. It's an enemies to lovers story. Lucas has a lot on his plate. He is still off debts from a failed engagement and paying for his twin sisters forthcoming wedding. He doesn't get on with his colleague Andrew as he sees him as the rich and carefree guy who rubs him the wrong way. When they are forced to help a throuple find their dream homes, Andrew tells them that he's in a relationship with Lucas and they are forced to keep it up during the three weeks they are away with their clients and that includes sharing a bed. There is some initial problem but lines do start to blur and they soon realise that they are attracted to each other but what happens once the trip is over? I loved reading this story and it made me smile and laugh at times.
Contingently Yours by Dianna Roman is laugh-out-loud, swoony perfection. Lucas and Andrew—coworkers who literally punched their way into hating each other—are forced into a fake-dating scheme when clients mistake them for a couple. Cue banter, bickering, and sparks that feel way too real.
I loved Lucas’s gruff, teddy-bear heart and Andrew’s rich-boy arrogance that slowly unraveled into vulnerability. The side characters, especially the throuple clients, were hilarious scene-stealers (I need their stories ASAP!). And that late-book twist about Andrew’s family? Brilliant.
Roman’s writing is witty, heartfelt, and addictive. If you want a rom-com that delivers laughs, chemistry, and genuine warmth, this is a must-read. 5 stars, no question.
If you like to laugh out loud while reading this book is for you! I absolutely loved how it all went down. I love that Andrew started off as someone you just could not stand because he encompasses that "rich boy" vibe that people hate while reading you see its mostly all a front because of the way his life went. Lucas well he's just a teddy bear of a man. He seems hard and gruff at the start because of his military background and the fact that he holds the weight of the world on his shoulders for those he loves but I absolutely fell in love with this man. Everyone needs a Lucas in their lives. I loved all the back characters too. Im not sure if they are from other books by Dianna Roman but im definitely going to go back and see because I loved them all so much. I also LOVED the twist at the end ish that explained why Andrew's parents are the way that they are! Hahaha I had a feeling at some point but wow lol amazingly done!
Contingently Yours is the story of Lucas and Andrew. To make a sale and get a big commission these two enemies must pretend to be a couple. I loved the characters and the snark and the steam. Dianna Roman does such an amazing job with romcoms. It was fun seeing these two become more than enemies. I can't wait to read whatever Dianna Roman writes next. I would definitely recommend this book. received a free review copy
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this wonderful story of enemies to lovers and also double bi-awakening, which happen to be two of my favourite tropes to read.
Andrew and Lucas go from sworn enemies and co-workers in the business world to this sweet and adorable couple. They will make you laugh out loud many many times with their quirkiness and hilarious banter.
What a rollercoaster that was for me. It started with Andrew and his friends with benefits situation. UGH I HATE IT. It doesn't add anything to the story, why put that in books? I don't wanna know that he just fucked somebody else, ugh. So it started with a disappointment but it got good real quick though. I laughed out loud so freaking much. Andrew was SUCH a dick. How can I hate somebody so much but love his povs? It was hilarious, such a snob. Love how he changed though! Just imagining him in a full cowboy outfit has me laughing. Also, I love me a bush obsessed man! Lucas on the other hand was such a sweetheart. He deserved so much more and I'm so glad that, as soon as Andrew changed, he treated Lucas how he absolutely deserves! This book was so, so good. I really laughed a lot, I was mad and disappointed and I smiled so much my cheeks hurt.
This book landed in my mailbox at the best possible time! Not one book could keep me interested, so there was no question what the solution would be: the latest Dianna Roman novel! The story pulled me in from the beginning and I enjoyed it until the very end. I was a little sad when I got to the end, I adored this light, cute summer story; I laughed several times while reading.
“Teach me how to be gay,” […].
It took me a relatively long time to get to like Andrew, but as I spent more and more time in his head and could see him through Lucas’s eyes, he gained himself a special place in my heart too. God (haha, I mean the author) made them for each other! This is one of the best fake boyfriend stories I have ever read. I liked that the main characters are well into their thirties, I liked that the supporting characters also added a lot to the plot (and of course they were as responsible for the humor factor as Andrew and Lucas), and I simply devoured the pages, everything was so in place and just right.
I don’t see a gender in front of me I’ve never been interested in before. I just see the person I want.
This book doesn’t promise more than a humorous, pleasant summer read (no one should expect world salvation here), but what it promises, it delivers so well that it caresses your soul and gives you a safe world where you can snuggle up and just feel good. I really loved it!
4.5 stars I had so much fun reading this! Gosh, Andrew and Lucas made me laugh so much. This was a very good rivals to lovers but instead of angst and tension, it had funny moments, hilarious POVs and astonishing and unexpected awakenings.
Lucas and Andrew work for the same real estate agency (where Andrew’s uncle is the boss) and they have the chance to make a huge deal with a famous throuple who wants to buy several properties. Because of a misunderstanding when they met them the first time, the three men are convinced that Drew and Lucas are a couple: Andrew immediately starts act like that they’re together and Lucas has no other choices than to go along with it. Incapable to clear the air from that misunderstanding and scared that the throuple will drop them, during their trip to shown them properties, the two agents will share rooms (and beds) to keep the facade on.
Andrew is extrovert, easygoing, unbothered, he goes with the flow and rarely worries. He’s only ever been attracted by women and he doesn’t want relationships Lucas, on the contrary, is more introverted, pensive, more serious. He adores his baby twin sisters and he works hard to help them pay for their imminent weddings. He also has an ex fiancee and debts to pay for their cancelled wedding. Andrew and Lucas are literally the opposites but, spending so much time in close proximity, it will arise new feelings, feelings they were absolutely not prepared to face.
The physical scenes are very steamy and emotional at the same time, I adored how unexpectedly thoughtful Andrew was with Lucas, how he cherished him, how he started seeing him under a different light. They also start getting along very well outside their bedroom if it wasn’t for the fact that Andrew is an idiot and he didn't think to give Lucas the reassurance he needed, creating a little bit of angst in the story.
What prevented me from giving five full stars: Shannon and Mark deserved way worse, the drama around them was unsatisfying. And I didn't like that Lucas was the only one paying their debts.
i don't think the author wrote a book about the Hepperlys or about Shaw and Terry, but if she'll decided to do that, I'll read them immediately!
So very much recommended!
I received an ARC of this book from the author and this is my honest review.
Enemies to lovers •• forced proximity •• workplace romance •• Steamy first times with a man •• Fake relationship ••
Andrew and Lucas's story is quite explosive, these two have been enemies practically since they met. They've never gotten along, mainly due to misunderstanding or in some cases just simply not trying to get to know one another.
Once they both get assigned to show locations to their biggest clients yet, they're forced to spend time together in a forced proximity environment. And thanks to Andrew's lie they have to pretend to be boyfriends... What could go wrong?
I was expecting this to be more of an angst driven plot but wow, this was so much more than what I was expecting. You could really feel how much these two men truly loathed each other in the beginning. They couldn't stand to be in the same room together let alone talk to each other and pretend to be a couple.
I liked how gradually overtime they got to know one another better, even when it was through snarky remarks or pointed jabs, they each slowly revealed a new layer to each other they hadn't seen or known about prior. The banter these two have is interesting for sure, they have their own type of love language. Like how Andrew's insult towards Lucas got turned into Lucas's bizarre pet-name, it was quirky and the dialogue was funny to read.
I LOVE the role Andrew's cousin and cousin in law played, that are absolutely hilarious and are really supportive side characters. I adored them! Something else I enjoyed is how Andrew grew as a person the more the story progressed, and by the end he was a changed man. He saw how what he was saying was hurting people and did what he could to change that and make amends. I love when characters have growth!
All in all a steamy enemies to lovers story.
~~I received an early copy of this book and this is my honest review~~~
One of the reasons I love Dianna Roman’s books is that they portray grown-up romance. There’s something special about adults navigating past mistakes and dealing with their own preconceptions about people and feelings. On top of that, Andrew and Lucas were rivals, which made any possibility of attraction between them nonexistent. A multimillion-dollar real estate deal set things in motion in a way neither of them expected. One innocent misunderstanding landed Andrew and Lucas in a giant mess, but I must say they handled it with all their snarky, intelligent might. Their rivalry was not angry but elegantly sharp. I couldn’t help laughing at Andrew’s antics and Lucas’s attempts to make everything right. When they discovered their feelings beginning to change, they didn’t freak out (much) but ventured into unknown territory as grown-ups and were rewarded accordingly.
There are sweet little tokens and one grand gesture. Every word Dianna chose brought both characters to life so vividly; they felt authentic and compelling. I felt as if I were opening a little box with a present inside while learning about their personalities. Tropical islands and glorious sunshine were a delightful bonus. I truly enjoyed Andrew and Lucas’s fight to prove something to themselves and the world, but in the end, they found a place where there was no need to prove anything at all—just to be happy together.
I started this book hating Andrew. He annoyed me, I hated how he treated Lucas. He was obnoxious, needed to be knocked down about 10 pegs, and taught some life lessons. But by the end of the book, I loved him. He had such a huge character growth, and it was magnificent. Lucas had my heart from the beginning, though. I just wanted to wrap him in bubble wrap and keep him safe. This book was incredible. It has a great plot, the characters are amazing and as I said, it has great character growth. Even the side characters were well written, and some even had a small plot line as well. The spice was yummy. I loved that we got to experience these first with them. Neither of them knew what they were doing and weren't afraid to voice that they had no clue. There were mishaps included that made it more real instead of just having everything go smoothly.
I'm usually not big on enemies to lover, but this one made it fun, if not a little exciting. Waiting for them to realize what was happening was the most fun. Let's not forget Terr, who called it from the beginning.
If theres one thing I wish was include, it would be when their coworkers and Uncle realized they weren't kidding about being together. They left hating each othe, and everyone knew it. I want to know what everyone thought. I want to know how the uncle reacted when he realized itwasn't a joke.
I highly recommend this book. It's magnificent and .magical.
Leave it to Dianna to write an enemies to lovers story with a twist! Contingently Yours tells the story of Andrew and Lucas who are essentially forced to work together to make a big sale to some high powered clients. A misunderstanding happens and they have to pretend to be boyfriends as they show their clients multiple properties in various parts of the world. At the beginning of the book, I didn't really like Andrew. He came off like a douche but it didn't take long for me to begin to understand him. I liked Lucas from the start and wanted the world for him. The way how he took care of his mother and sisters but had no one looking out for him. This book is funny and I absolutely love the banter between Andrew and his cousins Terry and Shaw. It was hilarious. Even Andrew's comments and commentary about Lucas' body hair, his mouth breathing and even his background was funny. Turns out, all the commenting was because Andrew was head over heals in love with Lucas. If you are in the mood for a feel good, funny rom-com then this is the book for you. One of the things I love about Dianna's books is that they are all unique in style and story. She writes funny, feel good, somber, a bit if kink, erotica and even some sci-fi and she does it well.
You know when reading a book you can see something being vividly made into a movie? This is how I have read this book. A funny, sweet rom-com I would like to see on my screen.
Andrew and Lucas work together in a real estate agency and have a hate-rival-hate relationship from the very start. As they’re forced to work together on an important deal for the agency - the unexpected happens. And let me tell you, seeing it all unfold, crash and burn. One of my favorite “tropes” is when the enemies start seeing a different side of the other - the vulnerable sides, the human in the other. But don’t be fooled - the banter and laughs stay till the end.
If you’re a fan of the fake relationship/dating trope, love a good laugh, like when one character just wants to let go and melt into another, very flashed out characters, a Terry (trust me on this) go grab it. With both hands.
Can’t wait to see what Dianna brings out next.

*I reviewed a complimentary copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.
