“Our story used to be something beautiful, all written with love…”
In 2006, Rhode Island homicide detective Dustin Faller’s fashion-model wife vanished on their anniversary, leaving behind nothing but a cryptic note in the form of a poem.
Twenty years later, he receives that same exact poem in the mail, addressed from a small town in southern Ohio called Paradise.
Now he suspects there may have been more to the story.
Believing foul play was involved, Detective Faller heads to the strange and unsettling town of Paradise with his partner, June, as the two follow the disturbing clues left behind by an enigmatic psychopath who knows far more about Dustin’s own life than anyone should – baiting the detectives into increasingly inexplicable and violent crime scenes twenty years in the making, forcing Dust to reconcile his past in order to understand his present.
But as he cuts open the old scars of his marriage, as his grip on reality breaks down and his sanity slips in the bizarre world around him, Dust realizes the most important question isn’t who?
