Marked by Moonlight drew me in completely — I was wrapped up in the story and truly invested in the characters. The emotional pull kept me turning pages, and I cared about what happened next.
That said, the writing style leans heavily into being descriptive and poetic. At times it felt like the book used so many words to say very little, which slowed the pace. A particular phrase — “my body knew what to do as it felt like it was a memory” — was repeated so often it became distracting.
Overall, though, the atmosphere and characters carried me through, and I’m glad I read it. If you enjoy immersive, lyrical storytelling and don’t mind a slower, more flowery style, this could be a great fit.
