Burning Tree is book three in the Chances Are series. This cozy mystery finds Florida natives Annie and Chance Morgan getting ready to go on their long awaited honeymoon. The two of them and their dogs leave for a friend's cabin in the Alabama woods. Their honeymoon turns into a murder investigation. There is suspense and action, that will keep the reader entertained. It left me with questions in the end and I found the story hard to believe, even though it is fiction. I received a copy of this book through Goodread's Giveaways for in exchange for a review. The opinions expressed are my own.

I received a free copy of "Burning Tree" by Tina Proffitt through the "Good Reads First Reads Giveaway."

This is a short, intense and physical mystery. I enjoyed all but the rapid transition of one of the characters from villain to lover. This seems too rapid a change to be believable.

The author is talented. Perhaps the length of the story led to a shortcut in the description of the main character's actions, which was difficult for me to accept.
