Haunting, Raw, and Utterly Worth the Wait

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Veil of Ash, and I’m still recovering in the best possible way. This book isn’t just a finale—it’s a reckoning. Eleanor Crowe didn’t hold back, and I am so grateful to have followed this story from Songbird to Catalyst and now to this breathtaking conclusion.

Lucian… where do I even begin? He is my favorite, hands down. Beautifully broken, fiercely loyal. His journey in this book is both devastating and redemptive, and I found myself rooting for him with everything I had.


No spoilers, but I will say: Veil of Ash ties the threads together in a way that feels both earned and emotionally raw. If you’ve been on this ride from the beginning, get ready to feel everything.

I’m so thankful to have read this early, and even more thankful for Eleanor Crowe’s incredible storytelling. This series will stay with me, and Lucian will always have my heart.

Ok so the book? 5 effing stars. I would give it 6 if I could. This was a perfect perfect way to round the series off. I literally did not know what to expect with this (given what happened in book 2) but it was the perfect ending to a great series.

I fell in love with all the characters (and some new ones) all over again. They are all loveable in their own ways. The character development is truly amazing to read. Lucian for instance, his character is the definition of an enemy. He comes across cold, no heart, doesn't care but through the 3 books (espeicially this one) he has really come into an amazing (and my favorite) character. It was really great to read about him and his wicked ways again 😂

The book follows on straight from book 2 and it literally dives straight in. I was hooked from page 1. I've fallen in love with Eleanor's writting and honestly the twists and turns in this were giving me whiplash but i am so here for it! I was NOT expecting half of the twists in this at all. I think i had to stop and re evaluate every so often because i was so shocked at what was going on but in the best way possible.

The book literally kept me reading right till the end, and whilst we are talking about it, THE ENDING?!? I had literal goosebumps at what i was reading. I don't want to give anything away but it's amazing.

I felt every single emotion reading this book. It's always a bitter sweet feeling when its the last book of a series but honestly I think it was rounded up in the most perfect ways. I think the little twist on one of the characters was PERFECT. I honestly can't think of any other word to describe it. It had me laughing, crying, angry, sad and happy. I think that's one of the things that proves how good of a book it is when you feel so many different emotions.

I would highly, highly recommend this series. The series is a dark fantasy one with tropes that include enemies to lovers, forced proximity, forced marriage, cults, captivity and of course, it's a why choose baby 🤭 Honestly i am made up with the series and i think Eleanor has truly out done herself here. Her writting is amazing and I can't wait to see what else she comes up with. Best believe i'll be here for the ride 🔥🖤

I’m so grateful to have been given the opportunity to arc read the 3 books in the Unbounded Darkness series.

Eleanor done an amazing job with this series and I 100% recommend if you are a fan of dark fantasy.

Veil of Ash ties the series together brilliantly. This book had me feeling every emotion and the twists and turns had my head spinning!! I didn’t know what way the story was going to go but I loved the direction Eleanor went with it.

Although the ending wasn’t a completely happy one, I’m glad our main characters got there happily ever after. Boy did they deserve it after everything they went through!!

Thank you Eleanor so much for giving me the opportunity to receive my first ARC.

This was the perfect book to finish the series absolutely loved it as much as the last 2! (which you would need to read to understand the story!)

It was full of different emotions happy,sad,scared! in places intense i admit i did cry!

From start to finish it didn't stop with action which i love in a book.

Loved all the character's as before but fell in love Lucian a little more this time :)

I would give this a 5-star rating as usual Eleanor produces another fantastic book.

I highly recommend you read the series :)

I was lucky to be apart of the ARC readers for this book, and it was honestly the best of the trilogy. It was dark, raw, unpredictable, and at times absolutely filthy in the best way. Definitely don't dismiss the trigger warnings if you have any sensitivities to the topics listed because she didn't hold back! I've really enjoyed how I could see the progression in Eleanor's writing style and storytelling from the first book through this last one. She's definitely become an author I will look for in the future!!

Please read your trigger warnings as this book is very dark in places.Dark,haunting, and a book you can't stop reading. This book was full of betrayal,spice, and heartbreak. I held my breath many times reading this book and, at certain parts, had to step away from reading for a minute. Cassian is a beautiful character and absolutely perfect for Jenna. I did find it hard reading about Lucian being with Lyra as it's always been about Jenna for him but I'm glad he's found his happy ending

Absolutely 5 stars without a doubt, I've loved the series so far and as much as this one had me in tears in places, it was amazing and a perfect end to the story. I always had a soft spot for Lucian, being the bad boy, but in this one he was just so much more.

I loved this book couldn't put it down. once again the twist and turns had me on the edge of my seat. It was dark and unhinged in all the right places, the plot was amazing, the spice was HOT and the characters were incredible. Would recommend this series in a heartbeat!!! I can safely say Eleanor crowe can write!!! Will 100% buy any book she writes!!!

Absolutely loved this final book to the series! It was a wild rollercoaster of emotions but the most beautiful ending ever! And completely unpredictable! Absolutely love all of Eleanor Crowe’s books so far! Can’t wait to read more❤️

I enjoyed the read, even if it wasn't my favourite book from this series. Parts felt a little repetitive from the second book....like kinda same but different, but apart from this, it was a very well written and executed book. I loved the ending and can't wait to see what else is to come from this author. Would recommend it, but check your trigger warnings before diving in.

I loved this, I found some parts a bit difficult in the middle with Lucian and lyra, but more cause I didnt want him to be hurt! im so glad he got his person!

I wish we could have more of these couples
