Jessa Kane delivers another OTT smutty Daddy fic. This one had two things I wasn’t thrilled about, but it didn’t detract from the smut.

Jenna Fairchild (19, virgin) is trying to transition from child star to leading lady. She finds herself chained to a tree, with her agent trying to convince her to go full nude. Hunky lumberjack Penn Holland (33, single dad) comes to save the fair maiden. Obvi the age is an issue – then there’s the fact his daughter is 7 and has Jenna’s poster on her wall. AWKWARD. But seriously, who cares about all that – they can’t resist each other, they bang, they cry, and then they get a HEA.

“Imagine that. A sweet little thing like you needed a big, hairy motherfucker to make her cream. So much cream, baby. All over Daddy’s jeans.”

The sex was hot just like in JK’s other fics. My only issues were:

KIDS: Y’all know I hate kids in books. Even though the brat wasn’t around much, it still felt really weird. I just don’t think an age gap this big needs a kid in it. Gag.

BURLY: This story has some similarities to JK’s other book, Burly. In that book, the MMC acted sort of like a bodyguard/protector while the FMC was a superstar. Both books the FMC has a photoshoot where the photographer wants to capture pics of them together, highlighting the size and beauty/beast differences. Then they get so turned on during the photoshoot that they have to fuck right then. I'm not complaining - I'm just pointing it out.

The Praise me books are in some way more bananas than her other more obviously erotic/taboo book. Idk I consider them different in some ways. And the Jessa Kane after her break is a bit of a different author too. The writing here is let’s say, earthy, almost a little crass (he’s a lumberjack after all), and I wasn’t sure how the dd/lg dynamic would work for me. But the FMC is no wilting flower who’s about to drop her entire career as a Hollywood star to stay barefoot and pregnant in his woods (heh). She’s young but bold, knows what she wants when she sees him, but she also wants to do the work she loves and she makes it happen. And sure he might be isolated and grumpy but he’s happily willing to move where she needs him (as he should). He’s j/p, but he’s not gonna tell her what to wear and how to act. Again, this sounds duh but it hasn’t always been a thing in erotic novellas.

I know I know, you think I’m over analyzing this. And as much as I love a short smutty read, that doesn’t mean it isn’t saying important things. Especially in this economy. Anyway…read more smut

And normally they’re a nice little pallet cleanser for me and I thought this one would be right up my alley, but I did not like some of the word choices and it just took me out of the Novella. And I could not just get back into it, though I finished it. I love this series, but this one wasn’t for me.

This was yet another steamy spicy naughty and hilariously on the nose novella with a young “innocent” fmc who really needs a “protector” and “provider” and a man who is a “beastly grump” who wants to be just that.

Pen and Jenna

I always read a Jessa Kane book as soon as it comes out and then I’m sad when I’m done cause I have to wait for another one. What I love most is that Jessa Kanes books are always unique, they don’t feel like I’ve read the same story from different authors and yet I’ll reread hers a million times! The spice is always spicing and it’s no different for this book! Pen and Jenna gave me tingles all over!

Jenna and Penn

Jenna was a child actress now 19. She’s trying to shed her innocent girl image by tying herself naked to a tree. Her manager’s idea. Penn is a big burly 6’7” lumberjack who is there to run off the film crew. He recognizes Jenna because his 7 yo daughter loves her show “Hey Betty”. Penn is 33. While Jenna is tied up her sleazy manager says it would be a good idea to leak a nip slip. Jenna asked to please be untied. They are going to take the picture anyway until “Daddy” Penn steps in front of her and gives her his flannel. Penn carries Jenna back to her trailer and she asked to cuddle. They make out but he says he can’t take advantage of her. He leaves after they dry hump and Jenna O’s. Penn can’t stop thinking about her. Penn gets a call from his friend at the bar about The Jenna Fairchild is in the bar looking very uncomfortable. Penn says he’ll be right there and goes to rescue Jenna. They end up having sex back at her trailer (site location). She loves that she gave her virginity to Penn, he makes her feel safe. She had horrible parents. She goes back to Penn’s house to some more “cuddles”. When they wake up Penn’s daughter screams because Hey Betty is in her house. Jenna plays it off that she was in town and Penn said she was a huge fan and was coming to see her. It’s instalove, but she lets Penn go because she can’t ask him to give up everything and move to LA. Penn begs her to ask him. She goes to LA and is miserable just like Penn. Erica (Penn’s daughter) is watching Jenna get questioned by the paparazzi and she said Penn was everything. Penn and Erica end up moving to LA and surprise Jenna. It works out better because when Erica’s Mom isn’t deployed she lives in California with her boyfriend.
Penn and Jenna get married. Penn is a remote lumberjack managing projects. He also is Jenna’s bodyguard and protector. It ends 5 years later and Jenna telling Penn she is pregnant.

That is until a big 6'7 foot lumberjack marches on set and puts a stop to the pressure she is facing.
He's not just her hero.
He's her daddy.
Penn is a single father with a big body and too old to even be considering about being anything more than a forgetful no body to an angel like Jenna. She's yougn and beautiful and making him feel things he never has before.
She needs him.
He is desperate for her.
Her world is LA stardom, and his is being a father in the forest.
The world could be against them, but how long until they realise they cannot just move on from one another?

Amazing steamy scenes that are oh-so perfect, check.
Creepy a-holes that are going to get what they deserve if they mess with this man's girl, checkity-check.
Oh, the touch=her-and-die vibes were packing it on heavy in this read!! Then we have little Erin who is so sweet. It's sad to see how young actors like Jenna suffer so much in the industry, and that there was no one else before Penn to look after her. Now, she has the best person to have her back...and front..and every other fun position (wink, wink)!

Ok, listen. I know I said that the massive age gap wasn’t for me in Praise Me: Pilot. I didn’t like the 18-yr-old sorority girl. Here we have a 19-yr-old Jenna who was a child star and is trying to break out as an adult in the business. Then we have my favorite thing, which his a alpha-male protector, a single dad, Penn who is 33-yrs-old. Now listen, this age gap was a little problematic, but there was something about this I love. EEK. I know. I know. I probably shouldn’t have, but the way that he just took care of her and protected her and made her feel safe – then pure combustion. AH. This was a Daddy-kink to the max book, and once again, it’s not my favorite, but there was something about this lumberjack that just worked. I said what I said. @JessaKane is writing these ridiculous things that are just giving me everything, ha!
