What would you give to achieve your life’s dream?

In a world where magic is the birthright of kings, where only men of royal blood may wield its power, Princess Melisandre dares to defy tradition. Denied the power granted to her male counterparts, she carves her own path – through bloodshed, manipulation, and forbidden sorcery.

From the gilded halls of ancient castles to the battlefields of conquered cities, Melisandre wages war against a society built to keep her in chains while she forges a new, better kingdom under her rule. But as enemies lurk in every shadow – scheming nobles, treacherous allies, and the old guard men who refuse to bow – she must decide how far she is willing to go.

For power. For vengeance.

For a throne that should have been hers from the start. But dark magic comes at a cost, and the deeper she delves, the more risks she takes; she soon learn the true cost of unbridled ambition.

If you are a lover of Dark Magic, Court Politics and Tales of Conquest, then this Dark Fantasy will absolutely enthrall you. You’ll find yourself ensnared in a dark web of mystery, betrayal, and vengeance—and the terrible price it exacts.

Walking in the footsteps of Queen Melisandre, you are pulled into her world of court drama, experiencing everything from her viewpoint and those of her fellow courtiers. Here we have an Anti-Heroine that changes up the entire archetype and makes it entirely her own.

The level of world-building that the author, Stephanie Firth, has created will have you wanting to explore every corner of the Kingdom—from Dorette to the distant lands of Orania and Pexia—as each character grows on you with every page. She has created such a rich and diverse cast of characters that the line between fact and fiction blurs. You’ll love some, hate others—and often both at once. Each one feels startlingly alive.

If you loved reading ACOTAR by Sarah J. Maas or Empire of the Vampire Series by Jay Kristoff, then you will love Crown of Shadows. This book is a thrilling ride—not for the faint of heart or the squeamish—as the author spins a dark, twisted tale that grips you with every gasp-worthy twist.

From the start this book didn't go how i thought it would. Not predictable at all. The finale was epic. Ending on a cliffhanger can not wait to see how the new story unfold. Thank you author have not enjoyed a book this much in a while

Great read and pretty book!

What stood out most for me was the theme of power. Who is allowed to wield it, who is denied it, and what it takes to claim it anyway. The story does not shy away from darkness, and that made it all the more compelling.
This book pulled me in completely. It is bold, emotional and unapologetic. I would highly recommend Crown of Shadows to anyone who loves fantasy with strong female leads, political intrigue and magic that comes at a price.
A well deserved five stars.

An awesome storyline with relatable characters. The main plot was built up successfully and the subplots fit into the main plot . The time and history is detailed and sets the feeling and ambiance of the story in an almost magical way. A well written story with a well engineered ending wanting the reader to yearn to read more .
