When Felicity Blackburn meets Max Fitzroy at the Steventon assembly she’s not impressed. While his friend Evan Pringle charms the ladies, including her sister Harriet, stony-faced Max refuses to dance and doesn’t have a good word to say about anyone, least of all high-spirited Felicity.
Felicity resolves to avoid grumpy Max, yet after several run-ins, including an embarrassing encounter at the local lake, she can’t seem to stop thinking about him.

Felicity Fitzroy is delighted when she receives an invitation from her good friend Jane Austen to visit her in Bath. Despite living in domestic bliss in Derbyshire, Felicity craves excitement and a trip to the lively spa town sounds like the perfect cure.
However, any plans to kick up her heels are thwarted when her niece is added to the guest list, and Felicity is reluctantly thrust into playing chaperone. She soon discovers protecting a young impressionable girl from the wrong kind of man isn’t easy, especially with eligible suitor Dorian Hart on the scene.
Dorian quickly charms his way into her niece’s affections and, fearing he’s going to ruin her, Felicity makes him an offer she thinks he won’t refuse. But the plan backfires when Dorian decides that seducing feisty Felicity will be much more fun than taking her money.
With her husband miles away and a devilishly handsome rake determined to bed her, can Felicity’s marriage vows stand firm against temptation? Or will she return to Derbyshire with a secret to hide?

Still reeling from her niece’s shocking revelation, Felicity Fitzroy and her good friend Jane Austen are drawn into a covert scheme to prevent a family scandal.
To secure the future happiness of everyone involved, Jane suggests a clandestine journey to Godmersham Park in Kent, the grand country home of Elizabeth and Edward Austen.
Yet, the past has a funny way of popping up unexpectedly, and when Felicity receives a heartfelt plea from an old friend requiring her presence in London, she’s unnerved by what she finds there and almost lets the cat out of the bag.
Deciding it’s better to keep her lips sealed, despite the circumstances, she returns to Derbyshire. But when her husband throws a masquerade ball, and an unexpected guest turns up, Felicity realises she’s made a grave mistake in going to London.
With the carefully concocted plan about to unravel, and reputations on the line, Jane is busily taking notes galore. But can Felicity trust her to keep the whole sorry mess out of her books?

These three stores were very fun, and original Pride and Prejudice adaptations that tell of a delightful life Jane Austen may have had. The stories, plot twists, and characters were very interesting and captivating. I highly recommend reading them all!

I absolutely adore this series! I’m a huge Jane Austen fan and this series is an excellent example of how much Jane’s work is admired and appreciated. This series is fun, exciting, and magnificently written.
This series is a comfort read for me. Normally, I lean toward cozy mysteries, but being based around Jane Austen’s stories, I decided to give it a try and I’m so glad I did. There’s something so enjoyable about this series. Being new to JAFF, I don’t have much to compare it to, but for me it checked all the boxes.
I highly recommend giving this series a go. It is utterly brilliant, entertaining, and enjoyable. Sit back, wrap up in your favorite blanket, and start reading.

A very unusual series of Jane Austen variations.
Jane Austen appears as a close friend to Felicity Blackburn, our protagonist.
The first book Amusing Miss Austen, mirrors events from Pride and prejudice. Felicity encounters Max Fitzroy, rich, handsome and grumpy.
She is threatened with marriage to her unpleasant, clergyman cousin Mr Humbleton.
While events unfold, Jane is using it as inspiration for her book, First Impressions!
The story continues in Visiting Miss Austen. Felicity, now Mrs Fitzroy joins Jane and her relatives in Bath. Felicity has been coerced into taking her niece Lucy along.
Amongst their adventures they meet Dorian Hart who persuaded Felicity, Jane and Lucy to join him at his castle.
What follows is a gothic tale which owes much to Northanger Abbey. Featuring hidden passageways, mysterious unseen residents and a wicked plan to take advantage of Lucy.
Felicity must extract the three of them from a rather disturbing situation.
In the last book Trusting Miss Austen, Felicity and her family deal with life changing scandal and a persistent, devious stalker.
A really enjoyable trilogy. Happy to recommend.

I wanted to love this book since the concept was interesting but left feeling disappointed. This read more like a YA fan fic than a regency era romance. The main character Felicity felt more like a Freshman in High school than a regency era debutante. Much of the dialogue & actions of characters just didn't fit with Jane Austen's world.
