Dreamer and Dreamless .
For those living in the near-constant rain and bright neon light of the mega-city Morpheus, one is reality, the other a delusion. Once upon a time, humans slept and dreamed. In the now, people no longer sleep and dreaming has been outsourced to Dreamers like M, property of the Corporation, their existence more valuable than many, many credits.

Dreamers make it possible for those who never sleep not to lose their minds. Life as a Dreamer is hemmed in on every side, the Corporation quietly keeping everyone under its unblinking electronic eye.

Dreamers need a handler. M hasn’t had one in a while. What happened to her last handler is the stuff of behind-the-hand-whispers in Dreamer circles. That doesn’t stop Samuel Scary, a man with a past, from accepting the assignment as her new handler. He takes the duty of the job seriously for his own reasons. M is desperate to get rid of him. He’s adamant about protecting her.

A string of mysterious, deadly occurrences lead M back to the doorstep of an old enemy. Someone she thought she’d escaped. Except no one truly escapes those in power. Drawn back into an old game of cat and mouse, M and Sam have only each other to truly lean on as they navigate from the Underground to The Edges in an attempt to stay one step ahead of a possible fate worse than becoming a Dreamless.
