Spice Me Up

She has one leave before you fall.

Ava Hernandez has spent years perfecting the art of the graceful exit. She's loud, she's fun, she cooks like a dream — and she never lets anyone close enough to matter. Then a brooding, jaw-dropping chef moves in downstairs, crushes her basil plant without a single apology, and somehow ends up as her co-host on a cooking show that the internet is obsessed with.

Luca Moretti didn't come back to get tangled up with anyone. He came back to start over — quietly, carefully, alone. But Ava is impossible to ignore. And every flour fight, every late-night menu session, every almost-kiss in front of a running camera makes the walls he built harder to hold.

When a network deal threatens to split them up before they've figured out what they are, Ava faces the one choice she's never known how to stay, and risk everything — or walk away from the first person who's ever made her want to.

Spice Me Up is a slow-burn, enemies-to-lovers romance with big found-family energy, real emotional heat, and a happily-ever-after worth every page.

✔ Forced proximity & cooking show chaos ✔ Curvy Latina heroine + grumpy chef with a past ✔ Witty banter that turns into something real ✔ The Curvy Brides Club is back — standalone, no cliffhanger ✔ Fans of Helen Hoang, Talia Hibbert, and Julia Quinn will feel right at home

Early ARC Praise for Spice Me Up

“This is the kind of romcom that ruins you for other books—funny, sexy, and so much heart.”

“Ava is my new favorite heroine. She’s messy, bold, and completely unforgettable.”

"I laughed, I swooned, I highlighted everything.”

About the

Helena Moreau writes swoony, slow-burn romantic comedies about strong, curvy heroines, cinnamon-roll men, and the beautiful chaos of falling in love when you least expect it. When she’s not baking up fictional wedding disasters or writing flirty banter at midnight, she’s drinking too much coffee, misplacing her phone, and pretending not to cry at strangers’ love stories.

She believes in messy feelings, happy endings, and second chances—preferably with frosting.

Sweet on You is her debut novel and Book One of the Curvy Brides Club series.

Ok the first book in this series not horrible… book 2 definitely felt different and goodness this was horrible. These either are AI or the writers snip it ideas on a book that has yet to come together 😒

100% AI.

This is marketed as...
"🔥 A spicy enemies-to-lovers romance with a curvy heroine, a grumpy chef, and one dangerously hot cooking show. 🔥"

...with tropes listed as...
"✔️ Forced proximity
✔️ Curvy Latina heroine + grumpy Italian chef
✔️ One bed (and one stolen kiss that breaks the internet)
✔️ Found family, food puns, and plenty of heat"

The ONLY spice in this read are the spices Ava cleans out of her cabinet. There is no one-bed scenario. There is a scene where the hero invites the heroine to nap with him on the couch. This is not even a fade to black novella, all you're going to get is a kiss. I have no issue with closed door romance, but don't market this as spicy with a one bed trope and expect people not to be upset.

There were some other continuity issues. At the beginning of the book, the hero is moving into the heroine's building. Later, she mentions walking a few blocks to his apartment. Initially they're filming in the building's community kitchen, then they're shooting in the heroine's kitchen - BEFORE the flood - and it's then somehow a big deal when she invited him to cook in her kitchen when they literally just were.

All in all, a super frustrating read. I had high hopes based on this cover and the beautiful covers in this series, but I won't even attempt reading the others after whatever this was.
