Five friends embark on a bachelor trip deep in Superior National Forest, seeking adventure and memories to last a lifetime. But their plans unravel when they unknowingly trespass into the territory of the Sasquatch—massive, intelligent predators who are done tolerating human encroachment.
Hunted through the unforgiving wilderness, the group must face not only the wrath of the creatures but also the cracks within their own friendships. As secrets are exposed and loyalties crumble, survival becomes a desperate struggle against an enemy that knows the forest far better than they do.
Forest of the Their Territory, Their Rules is a heart-stopping thriller that blends raw suspense with emotional depth. Perfect for fans of creature horror and survival dramas, this gripping tale will keep you hooked until the harrowing final chapter.
They destroy. They take. The Sasquatch will no longer stand by and watch.

As much as I love to see the Squatch terrorize this bachelor group, this could have benefitted from a little more character and setting work to make it believable. One of the characters finds out his finance of 5 years is cheating on him with his friend because her bracelet is in his bag. That was a major eye roll for me. Get em squatch! There were some cool scenes… finding the dead deer, hanging from a tree, wading through a swamp, huddling together with flashlights like little kids. And the epilogue was pretty cool. Like it’s going into squatch cult territory. I don’t know what type of mood I’d have to be in to pick up the next book, but I am in the market for Sasquatch horror right now.
Well, that kept me turning pages in one sitting! The cover is fantastic and I worried the story wasn’t going to live up to it but damn girl… it did and then some! The characters were well defined and believable. Tyson was a hoot. Nice twist at the end too. Can’t wait for the next one!
Forest of the Sasquatch: Their Territory, Their Rules by Luka T. Jacobs is a relentless journey into the wilderness, blending creature horror with a deeply human story. From the moment I picked it up, I was transported to the heart of the Superior National Forest, where the air felt thick with danger and secrets. I could almost hear the snapping of twigs underfoot or the guttural growls of the Sasquatch echoing through the trees. It’s not just a book; it’s an experience that grabs you by the throat and refuses to let go.
For me, the story hit hard on a personal level. The friendships in the book, strained under unimaginable pressure, felt raw and real. As the group’s bonds unraveled, I couldn’t help but reflect on my own relationships. Would my friends and I stand strong in the face of such terror, or would our cracks surface, too? This wasn’t just a survival story; it was a mirror, forcing me to examine the fragility and resilience of human connection.
Jacobs’ writing is a masterclass in atmosphere. The forest came alive on the page—not as a setting, but as a force, both beautiful and utterly unforgiving. And the Sasquatch? They were more than monsters. Their intelligence, their communication, and their eerie dominance over their territory made them feel like apex predators whose wrath was entirely justified.
I’d recommend Forest of the Sasquatch to those who crave intensity—both emotional and suspenseful—and aren’t afraid to confront the darker sides of survival. Luka T. Jacobs delivers a tale that doesn’t just terrify; it lingers, making you question your own limits and the lines you’d cross to make it out alive. It’s the kind of story that stays with you, gnawing at the edges of your thoughts, long after you’ve put it down.
Five friends, Levi, Carter, twin brothers Tyson and Tyler, and Rob go on a camping trip in the forest –it’s a trip they’re taking before Rob gets married in a couple of weeks. Rob has camped at this park many times with his dad when he was younger. Their ages are not given but I assumed, after getting over halfway through the book, that they are young—maybe late twenties, or early 30’s.
After they arrive at the national park, they’ll have to park their car and then hike about 4-5 miles to make camp.
The trip starts out fine and goes fairly well until it doesn’t. There are odd noises in the forest at night and the feeling that they’re not alone. It’s a creepy story and once it gets going, which doesn't take long, it does not let up.
The sasquatch in this story are highly intelligent and communicate with each other through a series of grunts, sounds, and telepathically. They are great at mimicking the sounds of other wildlife in the forest. But if you are paying attention to it when you hear it, you'll notice that there's something not quite right about their attempts to mimic. Paying attention in this instance could save your life.
After reading this book, I’d never go camping—if I did, I’d want to definitely take some protection, preferably a high-powered rifle. These five guys only had their wits, beer, a bottle of aged liquor, and a single hatchet to physically defend themselves.
Oh, and if you do go camping, and all the noises in the forest suddenly stop—including the buzz of insects, you should probably start running and looking for a place to hide.
The summary gives a pretty good description of this book. It is – yet again – another wonderful read by Luka T. Jakobs, who is quickly becoming a familiar name in the cryptid-themed horror niche.
Although all of her stories have either been focused on Bigfoot or Dogman until now (and who knows, that might change 😉), she does handle both phenomena wonderfully well. Despite the similar themes, she manages to create natural and unique group dynamics in this story.
She captures the audience's attention with a great setup, getting to know the characters and slowly but steadily building up the sense of dread. At a certain point, I found myself torn between two thoughts: I couldn't put the book down because I really wanted to know what was about to happen (and those relatively short chapters are an excellent way to keep drawing you in), but on the other hand, I didn’t want to finish the story too soon.
The tension and aforementioned sense of dread works out wonderfully well in this installment and really, the ending is killing. Without selling Lukas' other novels short, this might be her best – and most brutal – work yet.
I love my Cryptid horror stories and this one was no different. I love the level of intelligence that the Sasquatch’s have. It’s truly horrifying. Imagine something you thought was a myth engaging in outright mental warfare against you as it slowly picks off you and your friends on what was supposed to be a casual camping trip. The banter between the friends was pretty good and it felt natural, well right up until the crap hit the fan. Then their panic and fear felt just as realistic. It makes for an intriguing read. And I just know if I was in the same situation I probably woulda been the first to die
Takes a bit to get started, but once the group is in the forest, the action escalates and keeps doing so. A good story that kept me reading all the way through. Marred with some POV shifts that jarred me. Would have given this four stars, except that the book ends unresolved. The main story does end—mostly, thought without complete satisfaction—but an epilogue is nothing but a teaser for a next book.
Excellent grammar and punctuation. The story was consistent and made sense, but it was too graphic for me. The characters were clearly developed and you knew “who” they were, and the interchange between them was well developed. Again it was just too angry bigfoot for me, but if you read it, it is smooth and flows well.
Good read but takes a long time to build to the finish. I think you will lose a lot of readers before the finish kicks in ! You definitely left an opening for a series!
Good Sasquatch book. Five friends head deep into the Forrest of Minnesota to camp and fish and have a good time. Unfortunately they've crossed into the territory of the Sasquatch and terror follows.
Fast paced , great story. I really wish the next book was available right now. My first book by this author but will definitely not be the last. I will start another of her series now.
These guys wanted to there friend camping because they are getting married , there are 5 of them doing this . But when they got in woods this vs got real strange for them and there lives . The did a good job with the book keeps you wanting more , good job .
Great chapters in regards to the sasquatch's community and point of view, but everything revolves around five dorky friends during their weekend getaway in the woods. Some bad decisions are made within the group (very bad decisions), and we are left waiting for the delayed slayings.
I've run outve Lukas Dogman books so I figured I've this one a go. So glad I did all of her titles are so original, not a single redundancy in any of them. This is truly a harrowing tale of survival at its lonley , darkest and truly horrifying depths.
This story has everything that makes a good book great. Visceral descriptions of the forest, Sasquatch actions with young men's fight to survive....felt like you were there.
I wasn’t expecting much from this, just a quick trash read and move on. But I actually quite enjoyed it, was an attempt at character building, but it really didn’t bring anything to story. Saying that, I will be getting the next in the series
I'm curious as to how Rob will make out in his precarious position. I wonder what Levi is going to face. I'll be watching for the next installment! Well Done!
