Peter and Val are close to dissolving their new partnership after a long dry spell until a chance encounter offers Peter the opportunity to prove himself to his son, and perhaps an entire community. Peter can’t afford to let Emmett down again; all he has to do is persuade Val to help him.

The hunt for a lost pet seems farcical to both of them, particularly as a series of confusing occurrences unfold, but something darker and more dangerous might be lurking in the streets of Dublin, something that could establish the pair as a force to be reckoned with, once and for all.

Looking For One Thing and Finding Something Totally Different

I gave this book a rating of 5 because I loved it. I loved how they took the job as doing something good for a kid. It started with a search for a dog and ended with finding something totally different than the dog. I liked how Peter gave Val encouragement, when she felt lost. I recommend this book to anyone that loves anything dealing with the paranormal.

Short intro to a bigger book pt.2..

Decidedly English or british, the story involved a man investigating a unusual case of a lost dog?but his associate isn't what she seems and neither is the"dog'.was a bit confusing for the first part of a story since it referenced things that hadn't happened yet.

I liked the idea, but the characters felt awkward with each other, and this was the first book I read with these characters, but I believe there was another book before this with these characters. I'm not interested enough in the characters to read any further books.

A Peter and Val novella.

I felt it really helped us to learn more about Val; her thoughts, personality and her past.

It also brought us closer to Peter - and added a new friend to the gang!

Excited to see how things progress now.

I love Claire's books. I have yet to read a bad one. This one is a short introduction to Peter and Val in their new business venture. I really enjoyed coming back to visit Ava's world and the characters I fell in love with from that series. I look forward to the next installment and to see who or what the hunt next.

Demon Dog is the first book in the Valeria Brannigan Investigations series. Val and Peter take turns sharing the POV and it provides new insight into them. The author ties this in perfectly with the other Ava Delaney universe books.
