People love to claim they're descendants of the witches they couldn't burn. We actually are.
Our ancestors literally could not be set on fire. Neither can we. My sisters and I are elemental witches, and fire is ours to command.
The veil between worlds is thin in Salem, and we belong to the order of witches duty-bound to keep the monsters at bay.
But we've got two problems. Our bloodline is cursed. One of us is meant to destroy every witch in our coven. I've accidentally possessed myself with a demon.
And he's not just any demon…he's a Prince of Hell. When I flub, I do it royally.
If I can get him out of my head, he might be able to break my family's curse. The problem is…he might just steal my heart in the process.
Okay, make that three problems.
Collection One Contains the first three books of the Fire Witches of Salem Chaos and Ash Commanding Chaos Claiming Chaos
If you like snarky witches, smoldering demons, and fast-paced action, you'll love this slow-burn urban fantasy romance.
USA Today Bestselling Author Carrie Pulkinen has always been fascinated with things that go bump in the night. Of course, when you grow up next door to a cemetery, the dead (and the undead) are hard to ignore. Pair that with her passion for writing and her love of a good happily-ever-after, and becoming a paranormal romance author seems like the only logical career choice.
Before she decided to turn her love of the written word into a career, Carrie spent the first part of her professional life as a high school journalism and yearbook teacher. She loves red wine and chocolate, and in her free time, she likes to read, take pictures, and spend time with her family.

Fire Witches of Salem: Collection One is a genuinely fun ride if you like your urban fantasy a little chaotic, a little witchy, and flirting hard with morally gray demons. This collection pulls together the first three books in the series, and once it starts, it really does not let go. Think Buffy the Vampire Slayer energy, then add in Salem, sigil magic, a cursed bloodline, and a demon prince who is perfectly comfortable being naked and living in your head.
Ash is our main character, a Salem-descended witch who works as a librarian, Ink Master, and sigil artist. She is smart, capable, and deeply unaware of just how powerful she actually is. This adds a lot of tension and mystery to her arc. Her accidental decision to tattoo an unknown sigil onto herself is, objectively, a terrible idea, and the consequences are immediate. Enter Chaos, Prince of Hell, who ends up sharing her mind and very quickly becomes her blunt, cheerleading, and morally gray support system. I loved their banter and the slow-burn setup between them. Even when I was impatient for things to finally cross into hot and steamy territory.
The sister dynamic really shines here. Ash and Ember have great chemistry, and their banter adds humor and heart to the story. That said, Ember’s constant commentary on Ash’s low self-esteem started to grate on me. I wanted more support and less lecturing. Especially since Ash is clearly holding the coven together in her own way. Their relationship feels lived-in and real, especially with the added weight of missing parents, a vanished older sister, and a looming family curse.
Across the collection, the stakes keep escalating. There are demon princes, coven politics, murders, betrayals, and a Scooby-Doo-style investigation that genuinely kept me engaged. Some resolutions felt a bit too tidy. Such as when Ash figures out her multi layered magic. The magic system and creature descriptions are solid. There was just enough world-building to ground the chaos without slowing the story down.
On audio, Hollie Jackson absolutely deserves praise. Her pacing is spot-on, her character voices are distinct, and I always knew who was speaking without needing dialogue tags. She brought a ton of personality to Chaos in particular. My one complaint is the repeated mispronunciation of Hecate, which pulled me out of the story every time it happened.
This collection is funny, messy, action-packed, and clearly setting up bigger things to come. I am fully invested in where Ash’s power, her bloodline, and her relationship with Chaos are headed next.
This is a well written collection of paranormal romances with strong characters in the legendary witches of Salem and the banished demon princes' of Hell. The author does a great job developing the story and paints her scenes perfectly. She takes you into their lives with humor, sass and romance and kept me turning the pages with action, danger and intrigue, delivering a magical storyline.

***This review is for books and audiobook*** The Fire Witches of Salem Collection One includes the first three books of the Fire Witches of Salem Series: Chaos and Ash; Commanding Chaos; and Claiming Chaos. Ash Holland and her sister Ember are Fire Witch sisters, immune to fire, which live in Salem, Mass. The Holland family are descendants of the original fire witches of Salem. Their parents and sister Cinder disappeared, and they are searching for them. In her quest for answers, Ash accidentally summoned a demon named Chaos, a prince of hell, When Ash summoned him, it left Chaos’ sigil mark on Ash’s arm, connecting them and making their lives bound. He cannot live in this realm without her, and if a witch vanquished him, Ash would die.
Ash and Ember need to find their sister and end the curse against their family and coven. Chaos needs to find the skull of his brother Mayhem and free his brothers. They make a deal to work together. The other members of their rag-tag group that help include Chris, Shade, Ginger, Patrice and Miles. You will be shocked when you find out who betrays the group.
Pulkinen has written a hilarious paranormal rom com series about witches, demons, and beasties that keeps you enchanted and eagerly anticipating the next book. I enjoyed the witty and snarky banter between the main characters. I especially enjoyed Ash coming into her own as a fire witch and her confidence grow with each successful spell cast.
I really enjoyed the stories, characters, and the use of familiar Salem and Boston landmarks. The books had lots of humor, an interesting and engaging storyline, and fun endings. The author did a wonderful job creating an interesting plot and characters, and excellent world building. The narrator, Hollie Jackson, had a pleasant voice and was enjoyable to listen to. The narrator’s voice quality and character distinction, pacing and rhythm, and emotional delivery were all on point. The narration added to the experience and made the books even more enjoyable. If you are looking for a well-written, well-narrated paranormal romance series full of interesting characters, I would recommend this series for you.

"Fire Witches of Salem Collection One: The Chaos and Ash Trilogy" by Carrie Pulkinen is a thrilling urban fantasy romance that had me spellbound from the very first page. The story revolves around a group of elemental witches in Salem, descendants of the legendary witches who couldn't be burned. With fire at their command, these sisters are tasked with keeping monsters at bay, all while grappling with a dark family curse.
The protagonist's voice is sharp and witty, making her incredibly relatable and engaging. I loved her strength and determination, especially when she accidentally possesses herself with a demon prince. This twist adds a layer of complexity and excitement to the story that kept me eagerly turning pages. The demon prince, with his smoldering charm and dark allure, brings a tantalizing tension to the narrative. Their interactions are filled with snark, sparks, and an undeniable chemistry that makes the slow-burn romance deeply satisfying.
Pulkinen's world-building is rich and immersive, capturing the eerie, magical atmosphere of Salem. The plot is fast-paced, with plenty of action and unexpected twists that kept me on the edge of my seat. The stakes are high, and the protagonist's struggle to rid herself of the demon while dealing with the impending threat of the family curse adds a gripping sense of urgency.
What truly sets this trilogy apart is its blend of humor, romance, and supernatural thrills. The snarky banter between characters, the steamy slow-burn romance, and the high-octane action scenes make for a well-rounded and thoroughly enjoyable read.
"Fire Witches of Salem Collection One" is perfect for fans of urban fantasy and paranormal romance. If you enjoy stories with strong, sassy heroines, brooding demons, and a plot that keeps you guessing, this trilogy is a must-read. Carrie Pulkinen has crafted a magical, enchanting tale that will leave you eagerly awaiting the next installment.

Fire Witches of Salem – Collection One, an Audiobook by Carrie Pulkinen, is a box set containing the first three stories in the series!!!
First, there’s Chaos and Ash, the story of…well, Chaos and Ash! She’s a Fire Witch...who accidentally becomes possessed by a demon, Chaos. But, there’s more to it than that!!! Time is running out and things look dire!!! I adored this touching, sweet, paranormal, slow-burn romance…that has plenty of action and LOTS of heart!!! I gobbled up this light, engaging story!!!
Next, there’s Commanding Chaos, the continuing, mind-bending, enthralling story of Chaos and Ash. They continue to look for the missing items to bring them back together and break the curse. But, they are thwarted at every turn! Someone or something is determined to prevent them from achieving their goal! Exciting, entertaining, shocking, edge-of-your-seat tension, and so many twists and turns….you won’t know what hit you when you reach the end….well, the cliffhanger…. Excellent story!!!
Finally, there’s Claiming Chaos, the completion of the story of Chaos and Ash. She’s discovering more and more about her abilities…with the help of Chaos. But, now they’re faced with their most dangerous opponent yet…and it could release all of Mayhem into the world!! Loved this ending (but not!) for Chaos and Ash…but, the story continues!!!
This Audiobook series was once again narrated by the fantastic Hollie Jackson!!!
An ok read. I am not a fan of intentional miscommunications between characters for the sake of "building suspense". It just falls flat. The constant second guessing and being wrapped in insecurities got old by the end of book 2. No real character development for the main character until almost the end of book 3 and that's entirely too long to keep essentially making the same thing happen over and over in different places. Also, let the character's actions show how strong they are. Reading yo're so strong, or you're the strongest witch, or you have more power than you know every other paragraph left me feeling like she isn't all that strong or capable. Even after reading all three books I still don't understand how Ash is supposed to be the strongest witch. I don't see or understand it. And the "spicy" scenes, I guess I was expecting something different since it's a witch and demon...but it's plain ole vanilla. Why couldn't he have shifted mid performance and some weird stuff happen?? Maybe it's just me. Story isn't terrible but it just drags on and on. The narrator did a good job.

I did like the idea of being possessed by a demon and having his voice in your head and imagining the hilarity the could cause. In the beginning there were some banter moments between Ash and Chaos that I liked but those moments didn’t seem to happen very often.
Unfortunately when I hit the middle of the second book I kinda had to force myself to finish this collection. I don’t think the book is bad I just don’t think it’s for me, I just couldn’t get into it and I didn’t really care for any of the characters in fact sometimes Ash or her sister Ember would do something that kinda annoyed me. I really wanted to like this more but I just couldn’t.
Also it’s kind of a pet peeve almost that I have with the censored words like saying frickity frack or crapity crap which just seems super childish to me. And I’m not trying to bash the author or the books it’s just my personal little book ick.
I know I’m mentioning a lot of things I didn’t like but I’m not saying this is a bad book because I don’t think it is at all, i just personally couldn’t really get into the books.

I listened to the audiobook Chaos and Ash a month ago and really enjoyed it, so I was happy to get a collection that included the second two books in the series. Hollie Jackson did another good job bringing these stories to life.
Review Chaos and Ash
'Fantastic. It was my fault after all.'
I really enjoyed this book. Good world building and wonderful characters. This story was such a fun adventure. I loved both Ash and the demon Chaos. The story had humor and the characters were quirky. How Ash somehow trapped a demon inside of herself and now was on a time crunch to get him out before he fully took over is not an everyday oops and I couldn't wait to see how things would play out. I loved the banter between them. Ash's personality was fun. That cliffhanger! Can't wait to delve into the next book. I listened to this in audiobook narrated by Hollie Jackson and I think she did a great job bringing these characters to life.
I don’t think I’ve ever read through 3 books so fast ! I couldn’t put these books down longer than it took to take a bathroom break ! Ash and Chaos, plus all the other characters in the Salem Coven kept me on my toes , wanting to know what was going to happen and wanting to know now ! The characters are at times snarky, infuriating or clueless, sometimes all three ! The storyline started hundreds of years in the past with a curse on the Holland witch line that affects the third child born to the High Priestess. Everything that happens does so because of her parents breaking this curse …. Hint they didn’t. Lots of action, magic and fraternization between fire /light witch Ash and the Demon Chaos. They kept me interested from beginning to end and I can’t wait to read book 4 in the series ! 5✨’s
I read these books as they were released individually. The beauty of the trilogy is you don't have to wait till the next book is published, you can binge read them and trust me you will want to. This is a great series the book description gives a good outlay of the events of the books. But the detail is in the reading, lots of twists and turns, fighting with the underworld terrors that are coming through the veil. Ember and Ash are sisters and their parents and sister have disappeared. As Ash is searching her sister's room for clues she finds something that leads her to inadvertently summoning a demon prince of hell who possesses her. Aptly named Chaos. As with all Carrie's books they are well written with lots of adventure, twists, turns, betrayal, love and more. I loved all of the books. I didn't purchase the trilogy as I already have all five of the books in the series.
I really enjoyed this trilogy. It has kept my attention from the start. A real page turner. Ash is a fun character to start you on your journey. As the veil between earth and hell gets thinner. The witches have to fight all sorts of demons, trolls, etc. There's also trouble brewing from another coven and amongst their own. All with a bit of romance or possible romance thrown in for the siblings. The story unfolds well and you get to know Ember too. She's a bit of a badass. She soon gets a hint of a love interest, but things don't go quite to plan. I'm really looking forward to seeing how it all goes with their haphazard plans and of course if Ember gets her man.
This collection contains the first three books of the Fire Witches of Salem series. It includes Chaos and Ash, Commanding Chaos, and Claiming Chaos. These are a slow burn witch and demon action packed paranormal romance. It starts right off with the action and continues through the book. Will secrets be revealed and is a happy ever after possible for our main characters? This book has strong, well-developed characters, an interesting story line full of suspense, danger, action, mystery, unexpected twists, and an ending that left me unable to put the book down. I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an Advance Reader Copy of this story.
I loved reading the Fire Witches of Salem, Part One so much. I couldn't put it down. I loved the world-building and the characters. I loved the difference in the rules then other paranormal romance books, and I thought that the plot was fascinating. I loved the banter between Chaos and Ash; I thought they were funny. I liked that it wasn't easy to predict things, that it kept you wondering. I can't wait to read more of the story. This is a series you will want to read in order. 1. Chaos and Ash 2. Commanding Chaos 3. Claiming Chaos.
This is more for 18+ readers, as there is some content that may not be suitable for some readers.
Urban Fantasy | Single Narration | Slow Burn | He Falls First
If you like your fantasy with witches and a demon who’d burn the world for her, meet your next obsession: the Chaos & Ash trilogy.
Ash is a fire witch and Ink Master with low self-esteem and a sharp tongue. Chaos is a demon prince with “touch her and 💀” energy who melts for the one witch who calls him “bad demon.”
This slow-burn urban fantasy delivers magical tattoos, and a love story that scorches across three books:
Chaos and Ash - Single POV (Ash) Commanding Chaos - Dual POV Claiming Chaos - Dual POV
Carrie Pulkin is not only an author, she's also an artist. She paints a perfect picture in your mind of the world and characters she creates. This boxset is no different. It's so entertaining not only will you keep turning page after page, you'll go straight to the next book immediately. There's literally nothing not to love. I mean, witches, demons, curses and magic oh my! Then you throw in sass and snark (my favorite,) steam, drama and intrigue. That all adds up to one fun read you don't want to pass up on. Highly recommended, one click worthy but, it's not 5 stars, it's 10 stars!!!
Gleeful Goblin Review: This collection of the first three audiobooks in this dynamite series will grab you by the ears and not let you go. There's snark, action, intrigue, magic, and temptation. And that's just Chaos! But for real, this is an awesome series and the author is excellent at weaving a captivating plot, a richly built out world, and believable characters. I really enjoyed the narration bringing to life books I already enjoyed. 5/5 Stars.

I cannot begin to describe how these books drew me in and kept me wanting more. The slow fast burn of the romance. The FMC slowly getting more confidence and trust in herself. This story was wonderfully paced with most (I'm side-eyeing Shade here) characters arcs seeming natural in the crazy time they are all having. Ash is amazing. Chaos was such a prince of hell.
The final battle of the trilogy? WAS SO WELL DONE. Did I laugh once or twice during it? Yes but also the battle was intense. I highly recommend these books and look forward to continuing the series.

I can definitely see why author Carrie Pulkinen is so popular. I am blown away by these three stories. Everything is just perfect, from the idea of Salem witches that can’t be burned, to the writing style. These stories are very well thought out with no plot holes that I found anyway. The characters are all excellently portrayed and well rounded. There’s danger, vampires, and one sexy demon. I cannot recommend the Fire Witches of Salem series highly enough.
Fantastic stories the first three are about Ash and Chaos, Ash didn’t have very strong fire power she was a librarian but she was still a veil keeper but she made a very big mistake when she accidentally summoned Chaos a demon actually a prince from hell. Book 1 Chaos And Ash. Book 2 Commanding Chaos. Book 3 Claiming Chaos. There’s plenty of action, adventure, suspense, danger, passion and so much more to keep you entertained and turning the pages and I highly recommend this book.
