Light in Your Eyes

He's a blind mafia heir. She's the girl who became his light.

Kellan Romero lost his sight in a childhood accident—along with any warmth he had left. Cold and distant, he sees his world in darkness, until Layla Hayes steps in.

Assigned to care for the man everyone calls heartless, Layla expects hell. But behind the sharp edges and silence, she glimpses a boy once broken—and a man who feels far more than he shows.

As the lines blur between duty and desire, Layla finds herself drawn into a world she doesn't understand... and a love she never saw coming.

But in the shadows of his world, love alone might not be enough.

There are truly no words that can fully capture the depth and impact of this book. From the very first page to the final chapter—and even beyond—it’s an emotional rollercoaster that grips you and refuses to let go.

Each chapter is steeped in emotion, filled with scenes that are both tender and heartbreaking, drawing you into the darkness that surrounds Kellan. Just when it feels overwhelming, Layla appears—a beacon of light in his shadowed world—fighting to bring warmth, hope, and healing not just to his eyes, but to his soul.

This is more than a story. It’s an experience—raw, powerful, and unforgettable.

Thank you Anya for the ARC copy, you are a sweetheart. And of course, I cannot wait for the sequel

I need book two like now. I could not help but binge the book. I'm sad that it ended. I laughed. I tried not to cry, and I cannot wait to read the rest of their story. I did get this book early and free.

A blind mafia heir, hardened by loss and loneliness.
A caretaker appointed by his brother, determined to break through his walls.

Kellan Romero hides behind a cold exterior, but beneath it is a man who craves love, care, and connection. Rayla becomes that light in his darkness — challenging his defenses, touching his soul, and teaching him that love isn’t always a fairytale.

This story isn’t about perfect endings, but about finding beauty in truth. It’s about a man who simply wanted to protect, to love, to be someone’s hero — even if he believed she deserved far more than he could give.

Favorite moment? The “Mine” moment — if you know, you know.
"Light in Your Eyes" will break your heart, warm it, and make you believe in love’s quiet power.

This book doesn't seem like it was written by someone who speaks English as their first language. There are a lot of grammar errors and not only that but a few times that even the main characters name's weren't spelled correctly. however, it was a decent story. This says Book 1 so I sincerely hope there is a continuation of this story because I need them to get back together. I have so many unanswered questions!

I’m sorry, but this didn’t hit for me.
I know Anya is from Indonesia and has published to Wattpad.
You can tell. (The grammar and storyline)
The characters did irritate me as well.
The positive things were- the plot had a good premise and I was curious about the outcome.
I most likely won’t continue reading the series, but it was fine.

Light in your eyes,

What should I even say. Each and every chapter, emotions and heart wrenching scenes written beautifully as she always does.

Feels like a silence before the strom, a silence so somber, like a slow drizzling rain that makes you sad yet content.

which slowly yet surely turned into a full blown storm that will drown and CONSUME you in it.

And between this storm Our great author Anya has burned a bloody Match

It's a slow burn that once ignited burned like a raging everlasting fire.

Layla, She was the light that guided him, who was not only brave to enter the dark for him but made him see his own light too. A character so humblingly real and soft yet strong a female character that I hardly see been written nowadays. She's the hero here. A normal girl nothing fancy, just her.

Kellan, He was a man who wasn't dark or merely morally grey because of his lost sight. He was 'in' the darkness he created himself. it was so good to see a raw, flawed strong and(temptingly hot) YET written so high emotionally you could feel each and every sliver of it.he became the darkness that made her light glow.

The end will leave you weeping with a smile on your face. But weeping still.

Stay tuned for 15 August and 15 october because you don't want to miss this rollercoaster.

(ALSO, need a book for each and every knight *mischevious smile*)

I still could not believe my eyes when I saw The ARC in my mail but Anya is a sweetheart always.

Plot: The FML is brought in as a caretaker for the differently abled MML, and from there a love story begins with various twists and turns in a mafia setting.

Genre: Mafia Romance, Mystery

Highlight:
+Grumpy vs Sunshine trope
+Character development
+Cliffhanger ending

My experience: Easy to understand, nice plot, left at a good cliffhanger. The write up and plot is eloquently engaging and keeps you on the edge but I felt the description of MML beauty from the FML was in repetitive words and the reference was also breaking the flow of reading.
Still, I am waiting for the second part because the plot is intriguing me a lot.. Hoping the second part comes in this year itself 😁

What did I just read 😭
The premise of the book was genuinely unique, but everything completely fell apart. Every single character was so unnecessarily overdramatic, it became exhausting. And throughout the entire story, you barely have any idea what’s actually happening—the plot feels chaotic and confusing from start to finish. Then it ends with that bizarre cliffhanger, which just made the whole experience even more frustrating.

The emotions in this story are portrayed beautifully — you can truly feel every moment. I’ve read all of the author’s other books on Wattpad, and once again, she has done an outstanding job. Her writing pulls you in and makes you connect deeply with the characters.

There were a few grammatical errors and an overuse of the same expressions, but other than that the story itself is good and I wouldn't mind reading the sequel.

I couldn’t put it down! It immediately drew me in. When does the second one come out?!

My only complaint would be that there were a lot of sentences throughout that didn’t sound natural, the wording seemed clunky. But it didn’t impact my enjoyment of the storyline.

I won this ebook from a Goodreads giveaway.
