He looked like sin… but loved her like salvation. When life had her at rock bottom, Heaven sent her a Hood Hero.
Meoshii “Jett” Cándida was born with a silver spoon—and a savage attitude. As the only daughter of one of Brooklyn’s most feared kingpins, she grew up spoiled, untouchable, and reckless. But when her father’s sudden death leaves her broke and her mother locked away in a mental facility, Jett is thrown into a life she’s never one where the streets are cold, the money’s gone, and survival is on her.
Broke, bitter, and desperate, Jett leans on the one person she shouldn’t—her best friend’s man. And if that ain’t messy enough, one wrong move lands her in a dangerous entanglement after she hits a mysterious stranger with her car…a man hiding dark secrets and powers that blur the line between reality and the supernatural.
This urban fiction fantasy will pull you into a world of street drama, forbidden romance, and jaw-dropping twists that will leave you breathless.
*** This book is a slightly revamped, re-release, previously called “He Fell from the Sky” ***
Jade Jones discovered her passion for creative writing in elementary school. Born in 1989, she began writing short stories and poetry as an outlet. Later on, as a teen, she led a troubled life which later resulted in her becoming a ward of the court. Jade fell in love with the art and used storytelling as a means of venting during her tumultuous times.
Aging out of the system two years later, she was thrust into the dismal world of homelessness. Desperate, and with limited income, Jade began dancing full time at the tender age of eighteen. It wasn't until Fall of 2008 when she finally caught her break after being accepted into Cleveland State University. There, Jade lived on campus and majored in Film and Television. Now, six years later, she flourishes from her childhood dream of becoming a bestselling author. Since then she has written the best-selling "Cameron" series.
Quite suitably, she uses her life's experiences to create captivating characters and story lines. Jade currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia. With no children, she spends her leisure shopping and traveling. She says that seeing new faces, meeting new people, and experiencing diverse cultures fuels her creativity. The stories are generated in her heart, the craft is practiced in her mind, and she expresses her passion through ink.
Oh. My. This was my first read by Jade Jones. I am. Omg. There was A LOT to unpack here. Firstly, I loved Jet, but she had me ready to snap. She’s so stubborn. I’m glad she ended up giving in. Naz’s storyline is so wild. An angel ? A spirit? Powerful, full of love, protective, and possessive? I’ll take an alien baby. Kace is disgustingly despicable. I couldn’t be with someone with no moral compass. How does one expect to have a family and not care about kidnapping or killing kids? Eww. Hella ick every time I read his POV. Kamal is an idiot, never committing to a Black woman again, ever. Yea sure. Idiot. But I do hope he survives. Neon is an idiot. Point blank period. AND PLEASE PROTECT DEJA!!! Reading PT 2 NOW
Great story line but took entirely too long to get to it. Too much time was put into character building. Before one event could fully be completed we go backwards talking about something else. Book really should have been 150 pages. Lots and lots of filler words. I was underwhelmed.
This shouldn’t have been two parts…some of the fluff could have been removed and it made into one book. Hopefully part 2 is released in a decent amount of time. This is a rewrite or I guess an extended version if it seems familiar.
Yall, I want to fight this writer and I'M NON-VIOLENT!! At 20% in alone I wanted to quit the book so many times and I just couldn't put it down. She draws you into this dark and twisted world, but her characters and dialogue are hilarious.
These were some of the foulest, and immoral characters I have ever read. I don't know what I was expecting when I started reading this book, but this was not it.
Just when I start to get into the groove of a book and thinking, okay, I could handle this, the plot is plotting.. You read "pssstt"! 😲 This chick!
Now your brain starts screaming "No, No, no, don't you do it Jade" and your punching air and doing that silent scream, cause your family already thinks you're nuts!!
It's a scary and crazy world out there. If you're looking for an escape from reality with a HEA don't read this.
If you want to be shocked and ahh'd, read some soul bounding supernatural 🔥🔥seggs, read this! * Age gap * Supernatural * Dark
This book is 382 pages long and I read it in a single day. I could not put it down.
This book is so good. If you like urban fiction, crime, fantasy and spice, this is the book for you. I have never come across a book with the same idea as this book. Jade is able to truly tell the story of several different people who grew up in the hood or are products of the hood, one being from a whole different era and having to adjust to a roughly 20 year time skip for him. The spicy scenes are 10/10, the crime and dynamics are 10/10, this book is SO GOOD.
There is so much to unpack, so much substance, and i tend to love writing reviews with no spoilers. 😄 Must read!
this book had no business being this damn good . i mean it . i was totally taken aback by the ending . i am heading over now for part 2 and what ever Ms. Jade Jones has to offer . this lady snapped ! if you want a quick read and something to get you into the reading spirit I would recommend ! she is definitely apart of my top 10 favorite books list after this one ! well done . 👍🏽
This was a really good read! Good level of spice that didn’t take over the entire book! The storyline was good and all the loops and tie ins and connected people throughout the book. 4 stars only because I wish everything would have been resolved in this book and I wouldn’t have to wait on a part 2.
this book was sooooo fun to read & it was my first “ ghetto “ read since the blueford high serious! i’m giving it a 4 stars because there really wasn’t a plot. we just followed the characters which was still interesting AF!!!! the cliffhanger is crazzzzzy!! it will make you want to pick up the next book.
Ma'am, how dare you leave me on a cliffhanger? I love the story. I love the duality of each character. I absolutely love just the relationship that the Jett has with Naz. I am absolutely curious to see what happens next. Now that the sneaky link is out of the picture, can Jett and Neon reconnect? I'm already on to book two.
This book had me glued to my seat from the first page to the last page. Jade knows how to bring the drama to keep you engaged until the end. I’m a huge fan of her work!
This is the first book I have read by Jade Jones and she did not disappoint. I ate this book up in about 4 hours I could not put it down. I read this book on August 20th and have been patiently waiting on part 2.
I honestly didn't know what to expect but damn this book truly did not disappoint I can't wait to read what happens to Carson Kace and that trifling bestie now that kabal is dead
I am really loving this story. Naz is a hood angel and I’m here for it. Will he get to stay after he’s served his purpose? I can’t wait for him to take Kaye down. With what happened to Kabal, now I’m worried about Yamir. Hopefully No will stabilize and can cure him.
It did take a while to get to the important pieces of plot development due to a good bit of fluff and repetitive thoughts/point being made. But, overall, it’s pretty interesting.
This story is so good! So well developed. Well written! I’m so in love with this story. I honestly don’t want it to end! Immediately reading book 2. Book is a 10/10
