Omroku is smitten with Rochelle, the vivacious human female who challenges him with no fear. Despite being a son of the Kracken, a lord of the oceans, no title or show of strength is enough to bend her...and he likes it that way.
This short story is a nice continuation from book 1. Book 1 was all from Rochelle's (Chelle) point of view. This story, however, was primarily from Omroku's. Their power struggle is what made this story a delight to read, with Chelle struggling with her growing feelings for Omroku and her need to be in control. And the woman has no problem with the man half shifting into an octopus when they make love. Omroku's is literally everywhere a woman could possibly want a man to be when they make--one man, eight tentacles. That pretty much says it all.
